Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a hardship forbearance with XXXX XXXX, good until XX/XX/XXXX. Last fall the company began sending me statements requiring payments. I emailed repeatedly - which they NEVER answer, wrote them many letters - which they NEVER acknowledge, and finally called them XX/XX/XXXX. The representative merely read off a pre-scripted page and refused to address my problem. XX/XX/XXXX I received a statement, showing XXXX balance due. Then I began receiving statements about every 4 days with different amounts owed, one of them over {$2000.00}. I just received another statement yesterday. I have no payments due - either principal or interest - until XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX refuses to address the issue, nor do they respond to any of my correspondence. I do not want XXXX to seize my XXXX tax return, which my family of XXXX depends upon. Can you help me? The mistake has been made by XXXX XXXX, and they refuse to correct their mistake.

Consumer Complaint: A payment that was made on XX/XX/2019 was returned due to insufficient funds. I called AES after I realized that there wouldn't be enough funds to cover the outstanding balance and assured the representative on the phone that the entire outstanding balance due would be paid in full by XX/XX/2019. A few days after this, AES sent letters that said they were going to garnish wages, report the delinquency to the credit bureaus and force the account over to the guarantor. All of this after I had given them an exact date of when it would be paid. I don't appreciate the constant threats from AES and there are a group of other people who feel the same way. My attorney is currently reviewing this because I feel this falls into the category of criminal behavior.

Consumer Complaint: I have been dealing with American Education Services ( AES, also known as Pennsylvania Higher Education Services ) for over 10 years when they began servicing my loan after XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) acquired my loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I originally took out 3 private loans with XXXX during XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I was not asked or informed when my loans were sold to XXXX and then serviced by AES. I found out about the new transaction when they began harassing me for payments, while I was still in school. I have struggled with AES for over 10 years on every level. They constantly change my loan terms and rates without reason, my payments are always fluctuating, and when I've tried to work with them on getting an actual static plan together they are condescending and unresponsive. I recently noticed that several borrowers have been in lawsuits with XXXX and AES and their loans were found to be illegally acquired by XXXX and are now being dismissed as AES has been receiving payment on loans XXXX doesn't actually legally own. I contacted an attorney about this, as my loans fit the description of all the borrowers who have been in these lawsuits. They are loans that were bought by XXXX during the years of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, and are serviced by AES. My attorney sent a letter to AES on XX/XX/XXXX ( I will attach the letter ) demanding proof of ownership of my loans, by providing the master promissory note within ten business days. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email response from AES with a list of my payment history. No proof of ownership, and no master promissory note. XXXX, the " owner '' of the loan has no address or phone number anywhere, and no one has been able to contact them. I am at the point where I feel my loans have been mismanaged, and are now illegally " owned '' and serviced. I have been paying AES for over 10 years, and my loan amount is {$7000.00} higher than my original principle balance in XX/XX/XXXX. I have been throwing my money away for 10 years, and my credit is ruined because of them. This is criminal ... and there are hundreds of complaints on the XXXX XXXX XXXX about these companies doing this to others, and wreaking havoc on the lives of people. I want this made right! I am terrified to waste another XXXX, as it's not even helping my loan balance, but instead they are manipulating everything to make MORE money. Please help get XXXX and AES shut down for the sake of XXXX XXXX. Lives are being ruined by them.

Consumer Complaint: They are not responding to my income based repayment or my public service based forgiveness within a reasonable time. They have far surpassed the dates to respond in a timely manner, and are rejecting my application for unfair reasons.

Consumer Complaint: I started making payments in the income based repayment plan in XXXX with my loan provider with XXXX in public loan debt. I was told that I was making qualifying payments for the PSFL program once I consolidated my loans and was in the income based plan. I applied for the XX/XX/XXXXLoan Forgiveness {$5000.00} reduction after 5 years of teaching, not knowing that this would wipe out 5 years of payments I made under the income based repayment plan to count towards qualifying payments under the PSLF plan. I've gone round and round with people saying I will give the $ XXXX back and have been told sorry about your luck, which absolutely isn't right. No where did it say I would forfeit this benefit by taking the reduction and I would have never done it had I known this would be the case. I should have 120 qualifying payments in XX/XX/XXXX, but now this has been extended another 5 years and will cost me over $ 20k. XXXX has also lost some of my payments made from past providers and told me they would look for them and do a recount, but it could take a year. It's already been 7 months. Their company is the absolute worst and if you XXXX this, there are many others out there that they have done this too. You can no longer track how many qualifying payments you have made on their website either. I also saw a recent study where 99 % of the applicants that tried to get their loans forgiven after their 120 qualifying payments were made were denied. It sounds like a scam to me.

Consumer Complaint: I would like to submit a formal complaint about XXXX XXXX. When I requested recalculation of my IDR payment plan, I was directed to fill out the form OMB No. 1845-0102. This form was partially filled out for me. Yet, Section 6 was not greyed out. I requested a one-month reduced forbearance for XX/XX/XXXX. I submitted this form on XX/XX/XXXX. Furthermore, official letters from XXXX XXXX said my form for recalculation was approved. I assumed this meant that section 6, my request for a reduced one-month forbearance, was approved. The letters also said to continue paying my normal payment till XX/XX/XXXX, which normal to me was the {$93.00}, not the untenable hike that caused me to request immediate recalculation. Had the letter not incorrectly informed me, or had the form not allowed me to incorrectly request a reduced one-month payment, I would have known to save enough money for the XX/XX/XXXX payment. Now, I have to dig into my meager emergency savings and put more debt on my credit card. I emailed XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and did not receive a response with respect to my confusion about how much to pay on XX/XX/XXXX. I finally called today on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with employee # XXXX who confirmed that I am expected to pay {$440.00}, despite their runaround and miscommunications. I will pay the {$440.00}, but I am submitting this complaint because I feel XXXX XXXX needs to be held responsible for their misguided forms and lack of response. XXXX XXXX is intentionally difficult because it makes money off of people in revolving debt. These practices are unfair.

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX I submitted a loan payment to XXXX XXXX using the XXXX XXXX education award for my loan payment of {$260.00} due on XX/XX/XXXX. There are 10 business days between the XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and I called on 1/18 and was informed it still was not even processed. My request wasn't approved until XX/XX/XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX my payment has still not been received. After calling XXXX I find out that there isn't even a payment date scheduled yet for this payment. As a result it is very likely I will either have to take a financial hit and pay it myself in order to make it count for PSLF or lose a potential payment due to timing issues outside of my control. In addition between the fact it takes over 15 calendar days along with an additional up to 30 days to mail the check it seems IMPOSSIBLE to use XXXX awards to pay for student loan payments which is what their purpose is supposed to be for.

Consumer Complaint: I took out a loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX in the summer of XX/XX/XXXX. The disbursement date was XX/XX/XXXX for the upcoming fall semester. My original balance on the loan was {$16000.00}. I was scheduled to start paying on the loan in XX/XX/XXXX. Before I made my first payment the loan was transferred to AES American Education Services with a notice that the terms of my loan were changed. As of XX/XX/XXXX I had paid {$15000.00} on this loan and noticed that I still owned nearly {$20000.00}. I had taken out a federal loan at the same time that was almost paid off in full for the same amount, but this AES loan had more than the original balanced still owned. I made telephone call to AES and they stated there was no way that I can talk to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I could send a letter and they would forward it to them. I did that in XX/XX/XXXX, asking for a reasonable settlement with no response. I am now in default. I have never signed any contract with American Education Services. I certainly would not have signed an agreement to pay back {$46000.00} for a {$16000.00} loan, as the change in terms notice states. I can no longer manage this loan, besides the fact that I think this is criminal, it reeks of extortion. AES told me that the interest is accruing daily. Even though I have been paying {$220.00} a month, the amount owed just keeps increasing. I dont believe that this company is complaint with truth in lending laws and should not be allowed to do business in my state.
