Consumer Complaint: When I left XXXX University in XX/XX/XXXX I had a balance of {$6200.00} in which I was making payments up until XX/XX/XXXX with a remaining balance of {$4200.00} when I went back to school at the University of XXXX. I made one more payment at XX/XX/XXXX to drop the balance at {$4000.00}. From my understanding as long as I am in school at a part time capacity or better and after graduation I have a 6 month grace period. I recently discovered that my credit score got affected negatively in XXXX of XXXX so I asked for my credit report in which it showed that FedLoan Servicing reported to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX that my account was delinquent. I've contacted them on 3 separate occasion trying to settle/dispute this account in which I was made to pay {$300.00} on XX/XX/XXXX which they never explained that the account was active again but I was told on 2 other occasion that this was still delinquent because it was past due 90 days and it was suppose to be in the delinquent department which they refuse to give the number for. Now I called again today and was told that the account is not delinquent. My complain is with the action they took they have damaged my credit score significantly that it dropped over 200 points. I have never received any type of communication from them either mail, phone calls, or email and I was told that they have tried reaching me with all of this but I have never even received a voice mail. Upon receiving my credit report I see that they have been billing me from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX and from my understanding I have a 6 month grace period upon graduating from school which I graduated in XX/XX/XXXX. I wasn't even given a 6 month grace period on top of the fact that they never sent any type of communication to me. I understand that I owe the loan but the way they handled the matter and destroyed my credit score is what I'm fighting for. I want them to remove the negative notes they sent to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX and fix my credit score. I have a attached a copy of my credit report showing that they have started billing me 1 month after graduation without any communication. This is not fair practice from a financial institution and is a irresponsible actions that can cause possibly not getting a job, can't find a place to stay, or can't get a loan for a home because they ruined my credit.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX, I received an email from American Education Services XXXX ( " AES '' ) stating the following : " We received your application for an Income-Based Repayment ( IBR ) plan 90 days ago. We needed additional information from you to fully process your request. Since it has been 3 months, your request has expired. To have your monthly payment amount based on your income and family size, you need to recertify your information annually. If your payment amount already increased or to prevent it from increasing, please visit StudentLoans.gov immediately to reapply. '' I am very confused by this email, as I have already submitted, on multiple times, my IBR, once already through the StudentLoans.gov site, and once directly to AES, and I already received an approval letter for renewal of my IBR from AES dated, XX/XX/XXXX, which advised that I am to pay from the period of XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX, {$390.00}. I have a copy of said letter and will attach to this correspondence. Due to economic reasons, I had to request an economic deferment of my payments from XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX, which was granted by AES, again communicated in a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, which advised that my temporary forbearance was granted until XX/XX/XXXX. A copy of this letter is also included. So as you can see, I am confused as to why AES is now advising that my IBR request has expired and now I am in fear that my Income Based Repayment Plan will be extinguished through the negligence of AES. I fully expect that I receive a retraction letter from AES of the XX/XX/XXXX message in the email, and confirmation that my IBR plan IS in place, and that I HAVE the forbearance of my current IBR payment of {$390.00} until after XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I started qualifying employment for public service loan forgiveness in XXXX of XXXX. According to NSLDS, my Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Consolidation Loans were disbursed on XX/XX/XXXX and I went into repayment on that same date. Since that time, I have made on-time qualifying payments every month for a total of 110 qualifying payments on each loan. This mean I should be required to make only 10 additional qualifying payments in order to obtain forgiveness on the remaining balance due. My FedLoan Servicing account indicates I have made only 70 qualifying payments on the Direct Subsidized Loan and only 71 qualifying payments on the Direct Unsubsidized Loan. I submitted requests to FedLoan Servicing online to ask someone to look into this issue on the following dates : XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I have received automated confirmations that my inquiries have been received. However, I have not yet received actual help.

Consumer Complaint: I was notified this morning XX/XX/20 that I have a student loan payment of over {$400.00} due on the XXXX. 8 day notice, which is actually 6 business days of notice. This is atrocious and unacceptable. How am I supposed to come up with that money on the fly right before the XXXX holiday and right around the holiday season? I have at this time requested a forbearance due to my financial situation but this delay is absolutely egregious and irresponsible. XXXX day notice is and should be the norm, not this 6 business day notification. I can not fathom how this occurred and why it was not processed sooner nor was I notified earlier. I have paperless notifications and billing, so there is no excuse there to associate with snail mail being the cause or root of this delay in notification and notice. I imagine I am not the only one to experience this and I can not believe this has happened. I am hoping that my forbearance is approved or I will be forced to submit a late payment, which will negatively impact my status as a borrower, have negative repercussions upon my credit profile and ripple into another stream of problems.

I only want you to respond via CFPB. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: As a student I was doing online classes through XXXX XXXX college. I was able to receive student loans to pay for my classes. My loans monthly payment amounts were minimal amounts that were paid every month. After being hired by the local police department, I qualified for a loan deferment plan. This plan allows my loans to be deferred every year up to ten years. Due to a time delay in the deferment processing in XXXX of this year my accounts showed late payments of 90 days. I was told all late payments would be removed from my credit report in approximate 30 days, but the late payments are still reporting. This has dropped my credit score about 70 points and has really hurt me trying to obtain credit for a new home and new vehicle. I would love to have this issue resolved as soon as possible. I have tried disputing these inaccurate accounts with the credit companies, but have not gotten anywhere.

Consumer Complaint: Similar issue to previous complaint # XXXX submitted in XX/XX/2017. After coming to an agreement to correct Fed Loan Servicing 's error in processing my student loan repayment, they have once again sought to increase my repayment step-up by more than 89 %, which is completely unacceptable. I contacted the Fed Loan Servicing office indicating that I've had this issue in the past and that I would not diverge from the original agreement I signed, which called for increases of approximately 20 % every two years. Their response was to revise my repayment plan to an increase by more than 70 %. As you can imagine, constantly having to deal with this organization is unwarranted and unacceptable. Since Fed Loan Servicing has shown a tendency to ignore the needs of their student borrowers, I am once again leaning on the CFPB for assistance. I have also indicated to them I will increase my monthly payment by approximately 20 %, as agreed previously, going forward. I also indicated I will file suit if Fed Loan Servicing attempts to garnish or other means of collecting an inappropriate amount of my loan balance.

Consumer Complaint: They told me my loan could be forgiven if i signed up. They pressured me in to signing up. I tried to stop them but they still tried to take money out of my account. They took over my loan, and didn't provide me with any information about the company. I dont know the name or agency they are with. They informed me that they were part of the student loan agency. I feel like i was tricked.

Consumer Complaint: I graduated from the University of XXXX with a XXXX degree in XX/XX/XXXX and a XXXX degree in XX/XX/XXXX. During this time I incurred student loan debt. In XX/XX/XXXX I earned my XXXX XXXX in the XXXX XXXX and I am currently still serving on XXXX XXXX. Towards the end of XX/XX/XXXX I began paying my student loan debt and I have been paying for my student loan debt sin ce XX/XX/XXXX. Late XX/XX/XXXX - early XX/XX/XXXX I applied for Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) program through FedLoanServicing. I did not get a denial letter. However the FedLoanServcing Agent told me that I was not eligible for loan forgiveness because I consolidated my student loan. I do not understand why I am not eligible for PSLF, simply because I consolidated my loan in order to afford paying for my loan. Otherwise, I am eligible for the program.

Consumer Complaint: I was double billed with Fed Loan Servicing and when I called to request a refund of the money they told me it would take 45 days. The Fed Loan Serving representative with employee ID number XXXX was also very rude and told me it was my fault. I ended up having to go to my bank and tell them it was an unauthorized refund to get my money back. Fed Loan Servicing is absolutely the worst company.
