Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: This is resubmitted based off the results of my last two previous attempts to correct this issue. My last two complain submissions were : XXXX and XXXX. I am resubmitting this because on my complaint, at the end of the process I was asked if the issue was resolved, I said " no '', then the case was closed. This didn't make sense. Now I am submitting more documentation and a better detailing of my issues because the last time apparently wasn't good enough. Back in XXXX ( while in the military ) I started making monthly payments of {$53.00} with a Basic pay of {$1000.00}. In XXXX my Basic pay went up by {$72.00} and my monthly payment went up to $ XXXX/m. In XXXX my Basic pay went up by {$83.00} and my monthly payment went up to $ XXXX/m. In XXXX my Basic pay went up by {$29.00} and my monthly payment stayed at XXXX/m. In XXXX my Basic pay went up by {$240.00} and my monthly payment went up to $ XXXX/m. My Basic Pay was {$1200.00} and now its {$1500.00}. My income did not double but how is my monthly payment almost doubling what I was paying the year before. This doesn't make sense. I had submitted the same complain back in XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX and myfedloan readjusted my loan amount fairly back down to a reasonable amount. Now, in my last complaint, myfedloan only readjusted my loan amount by about {$4.00}.

Consumer Complaint: Good Morning I had this problem last year and it was resolved, however I am having the same issues this year and I am trying to find a permanent resolution to this problem. My income tax check of {$6000.00} is being offset unlawfully. I have received no notification of money owed. I complete the public loan forgiveness forms annually, and last year when my taxes were offset. I called and the error was fixed and I received my money back. This time around I called the US Department of Education to find out what is going on. I was told I owe {$45000.00} ( impossible ) I asked when documentation was sent out in this regard. I also asked why my records don't reflect this balance. I encountered a rude customer service rep that wasn't helpful at all. To my understanding funds will be released wednesday so there is still time to correct this error. I need someone to please contact me so that we can get this straightened out as soon as possible.

Consumer Complaint: Request that my loan servicing company corrects the number of Qualifying Payments for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. I am writing to you for help with a discrepancy in documentation I see regarding the number of qualifying payments for Public Service Loan Forgiveness I made on my student loans. My loan servicing company is Fed Loan Servicing. The problem : My number of qualifying payments for PSLF should be 78 on each of my six loans. I consolidated these loans. I submitted PSLF employment certification forms documenting qualifying employment with multiple employers. I made regular student loan payments. Fed Loan Servicing records are incomplete, missing several qualifying payments on five of my six loans. Attached are documents showing the following errors : Loan sequence 1 shows 75 qualifying payments. Loan sequence 2 shows 75 qualifying payments. Loan sequence 3 shows 75 qualifying payments. Loan sequence 4 shows 77 qualifying payments. Loan sequence 5 is correct ( 78 qualifying payments ). Loan sequence 6 shows 72 qualifying payments. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I not only should qualify for borrower defense to repayment, I should also qualify for public service loan forgiveness and I am just getting the runaround on both of these issues from XXXX. My loans were put into forbearance while my borrower defense application was being considered, I did not ask for my loans to be put in forbearance they chose to do that, but all of a sudden now I see I have a payment due in XXXX. I put in my application for public service loan forgiveness recently, for the second time, and they are saying they never received my first application which I did in 2016. I provided all of the documentation to show that I worked for XXXX XXXX for the past 11 years and they are saying that I only qualify for four payments. All of this is a giant mess and it is so negatively affecting my life to the point that I really may become homeless because I have to pay such high rent because I can't qualify for any kind of mortgage because of my student loans which should be forgiven either through borrower defense or through public service loan forgiveness. I can not get a straight answer from anyone on any of this. I am a XXXX XXXX I am making no money and I'm doing the best I can I really need help!!

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I made a payment of {$3700.00} on XX/XX/20 for the student loan I have. The payment has never been applied to my account. I have sent several emails asking where the money is with no responses. I called today because the payment is still not showing that it was posted to my account. I spoke with one person that said it was applied to my principal but he couldn't show me any documentation of that because of how it was applied. I asked him to send me an email stating that activity, he said he would but I never received it. I called back and spoke to another person and he stated that he showed the {$3700.00} was refunded, payment cancelled, upon my request. I NEVER called and cancelled a payment and I have NOT received a refund. The person I spoke to said that he filed a complaint to have the issue looked into to see where the money is. I am very upset because my payment is " lost '' and I have received two different explanations. I am attaching my confirmation of payment that was " posted '' on XX/XX/20.

Consumer Complaint: I was in a grace period after I graduated, but couldn't find a job so I applied for an IDR plan. I turned all of the documentation in well before my due date. The website states it will be processed on XX/XX/2020 and it's been on hold ever since. I keep calling and get told the run around. They keep saying I don't owe anything but can never send me it in writing. I log in and it says I owe XXXX and change due XX/XX/2020. I've repeatedly told them I can not afford that, it's over half of my gross income. They refuse to process my IDR application.

Consumer Complaint: I was working with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/XXXX. They promised me I would not have to pay anything towards my loans and within 240 months my loans would be forgiven via the Revised Pay as You Earn ( REPAYE ). for my student loan payments if I paid them {$790.00} up front and {$39.00} a month for their services. They took payments from me until XX/XX/XXXX totaling about {$1400.00}. My credit score plummeted by 48 points in regards to my student loan on XX/XX/XXXX. So I reached out to the company to not get any response or help with figuring out what was going on with my loan and credit score. I then received an email from XXXX saying that there was a lawsuit with the federal trade commission and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for charging inappropriate fees. I immediately called my loan servicer to make sure everything was okay with my loan, and then ensured that XXXX could no longer take payments from me by calling my bank account. Since then I have received a couple of emails of them still trying to take these payments out of my account, but were unsuccessful because of my bank being notified not to allow them too. I have print outs of everything regarding this incident if needed.

Consumer Complaint: PHEAA did not notify me of payments I could have made or arrange while I was working between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Instead, they decided to garnish my wages and made my 1 ) credit look bad, 2 ) and my loan with them look like it was in default still. Then while I was laid off XX/XX/XXXX, and had little money, PHEAA, or the US Dept. of Education took my entire tax return as a tax offset while I was unemployed. Then I received no mail from PHEAA regarding this in default loan from XXXX, which is closed on my credit, but now it shows started on XX/XX/XXXX? I just spoke with someone at PHEAA and they will not approve a tax offset for my XXXX taxes while I am unemployed! Nor have they sent me any mail regarding this problem! This is not legal is it? Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

I have a credit score of XXXX and was manipulated into re-financing my student loans with MyFedLoan at an interest rate of 7.125 % under the guise that I would be enrolled in the The Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ). I was informed one year later that I was NOT enrolled in the program and the hospital I was working for was bought out and no longer considered underserved. I attempted to call the contact whom assisted me in re-financing my loans and guaranteed my acceptance into the public service loan forgiveness program and unable to reach that individual. I called to obtain the recorded conversation from XX/XX/2019 and was told that they no longer keep those records. I rent a modest apartment for myself and my son. I receive no assistance from my son 's father, as we are unsure of his location. I drive a modest vehicle ( XXXX ) and we live pay check to pay check. I regret my career choice. I am unable to achieve normal life milestones such as buying home due to my overwhelming and steadily accruing debt. I currently have a loan payment of {$750.00} every month and feel helpless. Consumer Complaint: I contacted FedLoans on XX/XX/XXXX. I told them I was making extra payments of {$100.00} each month and I wanted those payments to be applied to principal only. They told me on XX/XX/XXXX. that the payments were being received but would not go towards principal only. I have made all my regular payments on time and have never missed a payment. I have also requested to see the contract that was signed for the loan and they told me to contact the school. I shouldn't have to contact the school for a loan being serviced by them. I contacted them again on XX/XX/XXXX and asked to see the prepayment clause. I got an email saying thank you for contacting us. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email saying they didn't understand my request to see the prepayment clause in the contract, so I emailed them again to explain what I was looking for and why. I haven't gotten a response back from them yet. I've also noticed that it seems like my balance keeps rising instead of decreasing.
