Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I received a call that my student loan account was past due {$200.00} and needed to be paid. I never received a phone call or email until after the account was past due. I called Fed loan services and explained this to them and I was told that they sent me a notice through their online portal. The problem with this is I didn't even know the portal existed so had no way of knowing my loans were due. Fed loan refused to change the late payment statuses on my accounts. I was also unaware that my student loan was not simply one account but multiple accounts from different loan years. Fed loan also did not defer my payments for the first six weeks of XXXX even though I am a current student. The problem with these late payments is that I was never properly informed they were due until it was to late. I am in the process of buying a house and now that Fed loan is reporting my accounts had late payments I can not get a housing loan with any late payments in the past twelve months. All because of me not being contacted until the payments were past due of {$200.00} I am being denied housing.

Consumer Complaint: They are quick to send you delinquent notices and reminders about payment due. When you make a payment, they are very slow to post to account. While the payment is sitting there ready to process, they are more concerned to send notices out that they have not received a payment and quick to add interest, without looking that there is a payment ready to post. They are oblivious to this!

Consumer Complaint: 2 FedLoans were opened using my information as a co-signer. The loans were opened sometime in XX/XX/2020 and started showing up on my credit report in XX/XX/2020. I have filed a police report, and filed a dispute with all 3 major credit bureaus as well as FedLoans and the information has still not been removed.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from FedLoan in XXXX of XXXX stating my loans were re-calculated. I didn't read the email because I figured it was about the PSLF program because my yearly re-certification was coming up. In XXXX, I called FedLoan because I didn't understand why my request for forgiveness date was pushed from XXXX of XXXX to XXXX of XXXX. I was told, that even though I still made payments for the XXXX academic school year, my loans went into " in school deferment ''. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke to employee # XXXX and was told to complete and submit the " school Related Deferment Waiver Form ''. On XX/XX/XXXX I uploaded the signed form to my FedLoan account and I also faxed it. I still have the form and the fax confirmation sheet. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke to employee # XXXX. Both reps told me to complete the " Waiver Deferment '' form and request that a recalculation of my payments. I was told that it could take from 7 to 20 business days XXXX on both calls XXXX. I called XX/XX/XXXX, I did not get the employee #, and was told I never officially requested to have my loans recounted. I told the employee that didn't make any sense because I submitted the " School Related Deferment Waiver Form '' on XX/XX/XXXX. That caller told me it would take 2 weeks. I called two weeks later and was told that it takes 30 days. I called in XXXX and XXXX and spoke to a representative and they just cut me short and told me, " it's being worked on and someone has to manually review my account. '' I didn't call in XXXX of XXXX but I did call in XXXX of XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, a rep again told me that my account was still under review and it can take a while because a person has to manually count my payments. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to employee # XXXX. He was extremely rude and short. I asked to speak to someone else and he just said, " they'll tell you the same thing. '' I told him that my request to have my loans recounted in XXXX and XXXX of XXXX and it's the end of XXXX of XXXX and I have not gotten a response. No phone call, email or letter in regards of my status. I again asked to speak to someone else. I spoke to employee # XXXX. She told me that my account was no longer in review. When I told her that I have not received a response in regards of my request she then said that a request was sent to view the billing statements from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. I can view all of my billing statements on line and it took 5-6 months for someone to say that? The rep. then told me that if I feel that I've made 120 payments, I can put my loans in forbearance while my payments are counted. That would be the worst mistake ever because when your loans are in forbearance, the payments aren't counted. ALL of my federal loans were consolidated with FedLoans since XXXX of XXXX. I have never missed a payment or paid ahead. I submitted the form that was required of me and I would like an answer. This is something that I've worked hard for. If my payments can be calculated when I re-certify my employment every year, then it shouldn't be hard to review 11 or 12 months of payments. I am respectfully requesting assistance in this matter. I feel that I need to get an attorney. I strongly believe that FedLoan is attempting to find any way to stop loan forgiveness. Whether it's the employee 's pushing my request to the bottom of the pile or them attempting to lose my paper work in order for me to not qualify for forgiveness. I hope that all of my calls are logged. I was in no way disrespectful to the staff. I only called once a month. Please help! I thank you for your assistance.

Consumer Complaint: I currently work as a XXXX and am working my way towards the ten years of Public Service Loan Forgiveness. I had been making payments steadily. While I was attending school for my XXXX XXXX XXXX, FedLoan servicing automatically put my loans in deferment. This is normal procedure, but then my payments don't count toward pslf. I requested that they not put my Ioans deferment for future semesters, and they said that they had put it on my account so they wouldn't do that. They did it again the next semester, and then again the semester after that. When they removed the deferment, they put my loan in 'paid ahead ' status, even though it wasn't. This caused five of my payments to not count towards the pslf program. They entirely admitted it was their fault and that they would correct their error. I submitted a review in XXXX. That review took over a year to complete and they did not correct their errors. I submitted a second review in XXXX of XXXX, upon recommendation from a FedLoan servicing employee. I was told this review would take three months to complete. I called back in three months. I was told it would take another three months. I just received the completed review after almost 2 years of struggling with them, and it still is not counting the payments I made during the time of company 's error. FedLoan servicing has said on many occasions this was their error and they would fix it. This makes a difference in thousands of dollars for my loans.

Consumer Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found 90 days late payment on the dates XX/XX/2018 to XX/XX/2018. I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me.

Consumer Complaint: I enrolled in the FedLoan loan forgiveness program around XXXX. I have worked in universities since before enrolling in the program. I was recently told that only 40 of my payments count towards the forgiveness program. I was told that no payments from XXXX to now count because they put me on deferment. I did not request a deferment and made all monthly payments as they were due. When I asked why, I was told that my account would be reviewed but that it could take a year or more and if discrepancies are found, the review could be put on hold for as long as they deem necessary while it is corrected. At this point, I should have 100-120 qualifying payments, not 40. Waiting a year or more for a review is unreasonable.

Consumer Complaint: My payment amount on my XX/XX/2020 statement increased by over {$200.00} without any notice or reason from Fed Loan Servicing. I paid my usual amount and emailed Fed Loan. No response. I email them again and finally get a response which included a threat about reporting me to a credit agency for late payment of the balance of {$210.00}. Incredible! I paid my usual amount while waiting for an explanation that never came until I emailed again and they threaten me!? I have an excellent payment history on this loan and all of my other debts. This is insulting and infuriating. These people are the worst. I paid the {$210.00} just to stop them from fraudulently reporting me to a credit agency.
