Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Problem with customer service

Consumer Complaint: Recently, I payed the balance in full on the account over the phone with a debit card to bring the account current. I asked the amazing and respectful lady over the phone to transfer me to an agent after she was done processing the payment. I eventually was transferred over to " XXXX ''. This is the same individual I've made multiple complaints on in the past. I immediately told him that I did not wish to speak with him because I don't like him and I don't trust him, and he does not know how to treat customers over the phone. He became super defensive and ego-driven and started trying to intimidate me. I asked him to transfer me to a different agent several times, to which he refused citing that that wasn't an option. He then hung up after I called him some foul names due to his terrible demeanor and inability to handle or escalate matters for Consumers. I called back and submitted another complaint against the individual and also was able to confirm from the different agent that XXXX lied about being incapable of transferring me to a different agent. XXXX also stated over the phone that he had been " closely monitoring my account '' since I made the first complaint against him, which I told him is deeply concerning. I then sent an email to Mr. XXXX explaining the above and also included Mr. XXXX 's office. I then reached out to a law firm and gave them the details of all of this.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I have 5 total student loans reporting to the credit bureaus. 3 of the accounts have open balances ( {$2100.00}, {$3600.00} and {$1000.00} ) and are currently in forbearance. FedLoan Servicing reported 2 missed payments for each of the loans at 90 and 120 days late for XXXX and XXXX of XXXX ( totaling 6 late payments ). I have disputed this error 19 times with FedLoan and with all three credit bureaus and they will not correct the error. From XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX those loans were in deferment. I have sent over the relevant documentation proving that the accounts were in deferment ; however, FedLoan continues to verify the information as accurate. A Representative from XXXX advised me that " XXXX '' reports whatever information that the creditor provides and they will not change it. I have the payment history from the US Department of Education showing the dates that the accounts were in deferment. I also have two other accounts serviced by FedLoan that were included in a Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy on XX/XX/XXXX ( Dated XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ) .The accounts were discharged in XXXX of XXXX and currently show paid and closed by XXXX. When I disputed this error they verified the information as accurate to XXXX AND further reported incorrect information. The accounts are now reporting as Bankruptcy for XXXX and XXXX which resulted in my credit score dropping tremendously. This occurred on XX/XX/XXXX. I called and spoke to several Representatives at XXXX and they advised that they would submit the information to FedLoan for verification. I have also sent disputes to FedLoan regarding these isses and have not received a response. I have spent lots of time and energy trying to get this resolved. I have been denied credit because of these errors and I am not able to get descent rates because of the decline in my credit score. This can NOT be legal and MUST be stopped.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am a Federal Student Loan borrower with FedLoan Servicing. I have contacted FedLoan and disputed 2 specific payments that are not counting towards by Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs for loan # 3. I contacted FedLoan Servicing initially through XXXX on XXXX to dispute this. I received a call two days later to review my concerns. I spoke with XXXX who assured me she was my point of contact until this was completed ( XXXX ). XXXX indicated when my loans were originally through XXXX, when I paid my loans as a lump sum, XXXX improperly allocated my payment to this loan, two months in a row, making me short {$.00}. She indicated I would need to provide bank statements to show I paid the entire amount of the loan, and that this was an error on XXXX part, improperly allocating my payment. I have called on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX to follow up with this concern as I have bank statements to get these months counted towards PSLF. ( And they should have because I have auto debited my loans for the entire duration I was paying them. ) As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, FedLoan Servicing has yet to respond.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account information incorrect

Consumer Complaint: AES XXXX is reporting 8 student loans that I do not recall making from them as the borrower or giving my permission to service. All of my federal student loans were made through XXXX XXXX. AES XXXX is reporting the loans as having been last for four months in 2017. I was a student during the periods that they are reporting late payments. My other student loans are reporting as in good standing during the same months reported by AES because my federal student loans were in in-school deferment. I consolidated all of my student loans. The AES account has been closed for several years. My complaint is that ( 1 ) AES is reporting a total of 36 late payment to the credit bureaus and, when I asked them to send me a copy of the contracts, promissory notes, or any other documentation that defines the actual loans made, for what school, and when, they sent me a short ledger page that had no discernable information on the loans themselves or how AES came to service them. Reporting 36 late payments on my account that I challenge requires AES to produce those documents upon my dispute. Moreover, since the loans were consolidated under a federal program, I am entitled to accounting so that I can check AES ' information against the individual loans in my consolidation account. Sending me a generic printout of something purported to be a balance sheet without supporting documentation is a clear violation of the FCRA and demonstrates a reckless disregard for the impact that their 36 late payment allegations have on my credit and potential debt obligation for loans that I did not take out from them.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: Some of my loans being held by XXXX were transferred to FedLoans in XX/XX/2017 ( I was not made aware this transfer was happening ). I had made a payment online early in XX/XX/2017 with the payment date set for later that month for loans already being held by Fedloans, but by the time the payment had posted my other loans had transferred, so the amounts we allocated incorrectly. It ended up showing all of my loans as not paid in full. I immediately spoke to someone at Fedloans and was told they would regenerate a bill the missing amount for that month for me to pay in full ( {$10.00} ) and the payment would be counted as it was a mistake made through them. A bill was never sent. I have continued to call and complain to get this fixed and have been given different information every time, including that they would just do an override and count the month toward PSLF and I did not need another bill to be generated. I want this resolved and the month counted as it should have been.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to request an expedited payment review for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) with Fed Loan Servicing, my current loan servicer. I have repeatedly, over the last 4 years communicated, sent documentation, and requested correction of the payment count on my loans. My final 120 payments on the PSLF program will be XXXX. Due to the length of time and non-responsiveness of FLS, I have continuously tried to work with them to get the payment count corrected. There are 15 payments that are not being counted toward PSLF by FLS. 1 ) 13 payments made to Direct Loans XXXX that are not being properly counted by FLS. Documents 1,2,3 uploaded pertain to these payments. # 1 is a copy of the 13 payment receipts ; # 2 is a letter from Direct Loans that I am being placed on the Income based repayment ( IBR ) plan, a qualifying plan for PSLF ; # 3 is a letter from XXXX acknowledging that when my loans were transferred by Direct Loans to XXXX in XXXX, that paperwork for my loans did not transfer along with the loans. Next, 2 ) A payment made to XXXX on XXXX is shown as ineligible by XXXX. See doc # 4 attached copy of the payment receipt. Next, 3 ) A payment made to XXXX on XXXX is shown as ineligible by XXXX. See doc # 5 attached a copy of the payment receipt. Next, 5 ) A payment made to XXXX on XXXX is shown as Outside of payment window by XXXX. This payment was made to XXXX on XXXX. My loans were transferred to XXXX within a day of this payment causing the payment to be caught up in the transfer. The payment arrived at XXXX but was miscoded. Its still miscoded after 4 years in spite of repeated requests to have XXXX correct it. See doc # 6 copy of payment receipt made on time on XXXX. I need help!! Thank you for your time and work on my behalf. XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I already reached out to the credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ) and notified them of their error posting of information on my report. The account balance is in fact wrong. A charge-off should show a zero balance. I was never late on these accounts. I have been monitoring my credit report for any changes, but I am yet to see the correction that I asked for and desperately need. I requested to generate a detailed description of the procedure designed to verify the account is " real '' but as of the moment no information was received. I had also requested the actual proof, physical firsthand documentation of the payment history but I did not receive what I asked and these violations persist on my credit report.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to make a scheduled payment for my student loans with Fedloans. When I spoke to the representative, she said since my payment wouldnt file until after the loan forbearance took effect, that I wasnt responsible for my XXXX payment. Therefore, I canceled my payment. However, when I logged into my account in XX/XX/XXXX, it showed that I was behind on a payment. I called and spoke with another representative, she said that if I made the payment then, it would count towards my XXXX payment. Therefore, I made a payment of {$570.00} on XX/XX/XXXX as instructed to count for my XXXX of XXXX payment. When I submitted my next employment certification form XX/XX/XXXX, they did not count my XXXX payment as a qualified payment. I had called and spoken to another representative and she said she would submit a request to have that payment reviewed. I had not heard anything for a month and so I called again and they said it was still under review. 3 months later, I called again, and they said once again, it was still under review. After over a year of not hearing anything, I decided to submit another employee certification form on XX/XX/XXXX, and they still stated that the XX/XX/XXXX payment did not count as a certified payment. I called and spoke to a representative and she said she did not see any claim being reviewed for my XXXX payment to count as a qualified payment and said she would submit the claim. Its now been over a month and I still have not heard anything. I have continued to speak with several representatives and have been given false information numerous times.
