Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I began the process of refinancing my mortgage. The payoff statement came back stating that I owed {$15000.00} in addition to the unpaid prinicipale balance of XXXX for a total of XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, because my mortgage was under water and payment too high, I entereed into a Shared Mortgage Modification with XXXX XXXX XXXX, my understanding was that the deferred amount would not have to be repaid and was not subject to interest if mortgage was paid on time. [ Please see Loan Modification Agreement page 2 section 2 B, C, D. ] My concern is that if this amount is/was forgiven, why am I obligated to pay it back? I have met all requirements and have never been late paying my mortgage. I am asking for assistanace in clarifycation and being reimbursed the {$15000.00} from Select Portfolio Servicing the company that now services the loan and made the determination that I owe the additional funds of {$15000.00}. Inaddition, On XX/XX/XXXX I requested an explination of why I had to pay the additional funds, in XXXX a comment was placed on my credit profile which dropped my XXXX XXXX XXXX points. The statement said " I disputed the information '' which is not true, I simply asked for an explination of why I had to pay the additional funds and the inquiry was closed. I am refinancing and leaving this company and need to have this information removed from my credit file. I signed closing documents on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and funds will be dispersed to SPS on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I am not sure who the actual holder of the mortgage is, at one time I it was XXXX and now it is sposed to be XXXX XXXX. I was unable to obtain additional information such as account number etc. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Consumer Complaint: I am coming out the XXXX XXXX and back to work full time. During the pandemic I lost all of my income. I am now back to work full time and can afford to make payments. I was told by SPS to apply for the loan modification and applied. I went through the process and was declined. I was declined for insufficient income. I have a complaint with the review I went through with SPS. I don't feel like SPS processed my file correctly. SPS stated my income was {$1400.00}. I have now idea where that number came from. That is not the income I submitted. I was told during the pandemic that the process was pretty easy to resolve by SPS for resolving the forbearance. I am filing a complaint in an effort to resolve and save my home.

Consumer Complaint: Select Portfolio Servicing Company , INC. has not allowed me to amortize my mortgage. Once the monthly mortgage payment is paid, additional principal payments are used for the next months mortgage payment. At this time, I'm XXXX months ahead of a mortgage payment, as opposed to having reduced the timeframe of the payment schedule and interest from the mortgage. It's an end-run around amortization and I don't believe that is/should be legal. An additional obstacle placed is they do not allow any electronic payments once the monthly mortgage payment is made so you have to send a check via snail mail in order to complete the monthly mortgage payment, and/or amortize the mortgage.

Consumer Complaint: I have been in a forbearance since XX/XX/2021. I was informed by my loan servicer that at the end of the forbearance the payments would be deferred to the end of the loan. My mortgage was sold to another mortgage servicer ( select portfolio servicing ). After completing an RMA with them they informed me that all they could offer was a repayment plan at double my mortgage payment for 6 months followed by a large lump sum payment to bring the account current. I filed an appeal stating that I could not afford that plan. They then stated that my only option to avoid foreclosure was to pay the full amount owed. I have resumed making my usual monthly payments.

The mortgage service provider received the the payment in the amount of {$3300.00}. They cashed the check on XX/XX/XXXX th but have not posted the funds to my account as of this date. The customer service representatives have not been kind or helpful ( especially the one I spoke with today ) I have been requested to send documentation proving the payment was received by SPS servicing and I have done so. I would like for my grant for my Six months of mortgage payments to be posted to my account. On top of this SPS has sent something to make my credit score drop XXXX points. I was told today to dispute it on the credit bureaus. I am under severe stress from all of this Thank you
