Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: During the life ( XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX) of the loan I was undergoing severe financial struggles. Due to stress and lack of transportation at a young age, this was my first car loan and I made a bad choice when I purchased the vehicle. It had tons of severe mechanical problems that were extremely high in cost to fix that the dealership did not disclose. Most of the late payments that were made were due to trying to fix and maintain the vehicle to ensure that it stayed in working condition and I could not afford to pay the loan and fix the vehicle at the same time. The loan provider showed little to no remorse in such situation and did what they could to ensure the vehicle left my possession after late payments.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, Santander Consumer USA Inc. lost my payoff check, which per the policy of the bank I made the cashiers check from, I had to wait 90 days for the funds to be returned to my account so I could make another check. During those 90 days, I made two monthly payments to protect my credit : one payment of {$450.00} onXX/XX/2019 and another payment of {$450.00} on XX/XX/2019. During this time period, I was assured my new payoff check would be back dated and both of those payments would be returned to me, in addition to reimbursement for sending the replacement check. My new payoff check was sent on XX/XX/XXXX and received on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from the Executive Office of Santander telling me my title has been mailed to me and overages will be sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX. I was driving during this phone call, so I was unable to verify the amount of the overages, but I told the representative that it was not correct, and was less than the amount I paid. She assured me that I would be able to call back if I had more questions. I have called their only phone number many times and the number won't let me past the bot that asks for my account number or social security number. I have entered both and it says I don't have an account with Santander. I have still not received my car title and I have not received my overages either, so there is no reason for my account to not exist. I can not talk to any representative of Santander because of this. I have two emails of Santander Executive Office employees, and I have received no reply for my request to speak to anyone at Santander regarding this problem.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I stopped by XXXX XXXX XXXX Chrysler, XXXX, XXXX XXXX Dealership. I test drove a car and the sales rep was being very pushy about working numbers out even though I told him I was just looking around at several dealerships. Since they were about to close, he asked me to fill out the top of a form for his supervisor to show me some numbers without running my credit score and that he would call me back on Monday. 10 minutes after I left the dealership XXXX notified me XXXX XXXX 2 had added an inquiry to my report. On the morning of XXXX, XX/XX/2019, six more inquiries were added to my report from CHRYSLER CAPITAL, XXXX XXXX XXXX ACCT XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Later that day the sales rep called me to inform me I was approved for a loan of {$20000.00} and I confronted him about all the reports, and all he said was that in order to show me accurate financing numbers his supervisor had to run my report ( even though I had not authorized it ).

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Santander is reporting a {$9500.00} debt that was covered. This debt is Santander 's tactic to defraud the United States IRS. I had a previous auto contract with Santander. I was in a non fault accident and the at fault person 's insurance in addition to my gap insurance paid the remaining balance on my account. Santander accepted the at fault insurance payment and the gap insurance payment. I do not owe Santander any money. I have no contract with Santander anymore. I requested validation of debt. I NEVER received any type of correspondence to even validate the fraudulent amount of {$9500.00}. They have violated many FDCPA violations. Santander has use my personal information to receive a tax write off for a fraudulent debt.
