Consumer Complaint: I took out an auto loan through the lender Gateway One Lending around XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately signed up for automatic payments and have been on auto-pay ever since and have never missed a payment. In XX/XX/XXXX Gateway One Lending was bought out but Santander Consumer USA Inc. In XX/XX/XXXX I received a notification from XXXX that my credit score had fallen 40 points due to a missed car payment. I immediately contacted my new lender only to find out that in fact their records did not show any late or missed payment, in fact the agent concurred that their records showed I have always been on auto-pay since signing the loan. The agent also supplied me with a complete payment history to support my up to date payments in which I have attached below. After reviewing the account and identifying the issue on their end the rep informed me that there was nothing she could do to correct the issue and directed me to call XXXX.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: The vehicle loan was a subprime loan with Santander Consumer USA. They sent the account to collections with a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have not had this vehicle in my possession for over 7 year 's. They repossessed the car back in 2013. I have asked them to remove this account off my credit report on several occasions. They didn't do the proper procedures. They sold the vehicle and still stated I owed more than the vehicle was worth. They originally sold the vehicle to me for {$17000.00}. I paid on this vehicle for 6 years and they still said I owed {$10000.00}. They claimed they sold the vehicle for {$1500.00}. I never received ANY legal documents proving that's what they really sold it for. They currently have it on my credit reports as a balance of {$7300.00}. None of these numbers add up. And I keep getting the run around.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: I had purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. I had been paying on this vehicle for approximately 5 years XXXX amount of the vehicle never changed. In fact the price of the vehicle continue going up. I contacted the creditor which was Santander about this on several occasions. They stated that the outstanding balance on the account was correct. Every time I paid something towards the monthly payment the outstanding balance of the loan continue to go up. I contacted the company in XX/XX/XXXX requesting that they pick the vehicle up and listed as a voluntary return. As this vehicle would never have the balance paid off. Then I sent a certified return receipt letter as backup of what I wanted. I've been was contacted via mail from the Creditor stating that the vehicle had been sold and there was a large outstanding balance owed. Once I received the letter the letter still had the amount of {$16000.00} owed. This is the amount that was left on the balance prior to me returning the vehicle. As of today Santander is still reporting to the credit beaureu each month for a vehicle I do not have. They have added very large amount of charges on to the vehicle and place this on my credit report as a repossession. This makes my credit report look very bad and I'm very unhappy about it. I contacted them several times after to explain to them that I contacted them to pick up the vehicle. They stated that it does not matter if I did send them a certified return receipt letter that's non and void. They stated that they do not take certified return receipt letters as a source of picking up the vehicle. I explained to them that I called and I sent the letter. This is not fair what they're doing to me I want this removed from my credit report please. If someone can look into this for me and let me know what I need to do. I have spoken to two other people who have loans with their company who are going through the same issues. They must be stopped. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2014 I purchased a XXXX XXXX, the list price was around XXXX, the loan company Santander insisted on XXXX, something like that. I paid XXXX down at XXXX of XXXX XXXX in XXXX Florida. My monthly payments started at XXXX. I paid XXXX every month to make a payment. I called for assistance when I was late and had a payment or two moved to the end of my 6 year loan. It has been 6 years and I still owe over XXXX dollars by their account. They blame it on me for being late and moving payments. At the time, the assistant on the phone never told me it would cost so much more and set me back so I was just paying more interest. I've contacted them several times and never was informed of this. I was never late on my payments as much as they are saying. I've been scammed from Day 1, set up to default. Now, I will have a large bill at the end of my loan in a few months. I calculate my loan at around XXXX dollars or more. For a truck that was worth XXXX. Santander is a con artist.

Consumer Complaint: Santander bank has settled charges of Predatory Auto-Lending to low-income and subprime borrowers. As a victim of Santander, they violated my consumer protection laws by placing me ( the borrower ) with subprime credit into an auto loan it knew carried a high probability of default. Due to this Santander must remove the defaulted account off my credit report. After numerous letters I have still not received a response to my request
