Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I have sent Resurgent Capital Services several letters to verify a debt that they say that I owe and all I get back are letters that say " We recently received a direct dispute from you regarding certain information in your credit report. After reviewing this dispute, we have reason to believe that it was submitted by, prepared on your behalf, or submitted on a form supplied to you by a credit repair organization. Therefore, as permitted by law, we have determined your dispute to be frivolous and irrelevant and will not investigate it. '' With the letters that I have sent out, one in XX/XX/XXXX and the other in XX/XX/XXXX, Resurgent has failed to do anything to verify my debt. In accordance to the law, they had 30 days to verify it, or it will fall of my report. It has been long past that.

Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I owed a debt in the amount of {$32000.00} for an installment loan entered into by contract on XX/XX/2016. The loan was subsequently charged off. XXXX XXXX XXXX purchased the debt, which was recently posted to my credit report through XXXX XXXX. Prior to the posting, I was contacted by a collection agency regarding the debt. As a judgment regarding said debt had not been obtained against me in a court of law, I requested validaion. The debt collector could not provide me with a signed contract or any proof that I owed the debt. Subsequently, XXXX. XXXX, wrongfully and in reckless disregard of the facts, added a collection account to my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I am responding to the letter from Resurgent Capital Services dated XX/XX/XXXX. This was attached as a response to a complaint created with CFPB. In this letter, Resurgent Capital Services, states that their records indicate that I submitted a fax dated XX/XX/XXXX requesting that their office cease communication. I did not create nor send their office any fax. The fax that they attached to their response is fraudulent. It does not bear my signature and appears to have been created as some type of word document. It also bears the number of XXXX, which is located in XXXX, Georgia. I do not and have never resided in XXXX, Georgia. Resurgent Capital Services fraudulently created that letter/fax. My correspondence with their office has only been via letter with my signature, most of which were sent certified, as well as through Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In addition to this, my correspondence has never included a request to cease and desist, but has been requests for debt validation that their office failed to provide. In their letter, it states that, Resurgent takes its customer service and consumer protection obligations very seriously Clearly it does not as their office has created a fraudulent document to justify their collection attempts on this account.

Consumer Complaint: I receive a letter from XXXX concerning a debt that is not mine from XX/XX/1999. I called and told them this debt was not mine and it needed to be taken care of immediately to ensure I did not receive any further correspondence. The woman I spoke to said needed to dispute the charges. This is the 3rd time I have had to deal with this company ON debts and I am really tired of getting collection letters from them. I ended up having to pay for 2 accounts that had already been paid the last time. I do not intend on paying for something that is not mine and especially for the year XX/XX/1999 nearly 20 years ago. This is ridiculous. They need to be investigated and stopped from harassing people for things they do NOT OWE.
