Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Consumer Complaint: There is a fraudulent account on my credit report. I have disputed the account and the subsequent collection account directly with the creditor several times to no avail. I have requested any and all proof of who opened the account and have only been provided with billing statements. I was told by the collection agency to file a fraud report with the FTC however I have a child in college and I am in the process of buying a home. Placing a fraud alert on my credit alert will cause major inconveniences when applying for student or home loans. This is the only fraudulent account that has ever appeared on my credit report and I do not believe that I should be inconvenienced any further due to this company 's failure to properly identify applicants. I finally decided to dispute with all 3 credit bureaus. After investigating XXXX deleted the collection account. XXXX closed the collection account. XXXX verified the original account and the collection account.

Consumer Complaint: The collection account is not mine. I have repeatedly filed disputes through XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and the collections agency will not provide the documentation I requested proving the debt is mine. I do not have any knowledge of this account. I even tried contacting the company and ask for proof or validation that the account belongs to me and all they send are the typical credit card paper statement. This is not proof. I want to see where I signed an application or proof that it was me that created this debt. All they send are statements. I want to see solid, legal documentation that the debt was incurred by me. . If they can not provide the valid legal documentation proving that it was me that incurred the debt, then I want the collection account removed from all 3 credit bureaus - XXXX, XXXX and XXXX.

The collections amount listed on my credit monitoring site for {$680.00} and {$370.00} and I was never aware of such debt in writing.I specifically asked for a signed agreement and other supporting documentation. Consumer Complaint: This account was paid off In XX/XX/2017. Since then I have been contacted by Three different collection agencies regarding this bill. I do not owe this, I've been asked to provide proof, but in the last 3 years I have had someone stolen my identity and no longer keep personal information on hand. Since then I have had them contact me and then they started calling my mother who had nothing to do with this account. I felt violated and embarrassed that my family was now involved in a matter that is wrong. They have contacted her more then once and I finally called them back to stop calling her, when I spoke to her she started getting rude and telling me to pay up. I do not owe this amount and I wish they would correct this. Since my identity has been compromised in the past I feel that is is going to reoccur since my information is being bounce from company to company on a debt that I do not owe.
