Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Can't close your account
Consumer Complaint: XXXX I received a XXXX XXXX XXXX Card and used the card. Once using the card I ran into financial trouble and asked the company to work with me to make payments and discontinue the usage of the card because it wasn't within my budget and I was forced to cut my budget. I explained that I would make the payment until it the card was paid off but I noticed every time I received the bill the interest kept accumulating. The bill soon went from XXXX to XXXX. Then they sent me to court for XXXX and sold the account over to a law company XXXX XXXX XXXX, again I attempted to negotiation the cost. I was in bankruptcy for five years XXXX closed XX/XX/2018 and failed to include this company for some reason. I call and made arrangements with the law company to make {$54.00} on the XXXX of every month since XX/XX/2018, but I'm beating a dead horse because they continue to accumulate interest and I'm going nowhere right now the funds has increased to XXXX. I feel that this is so very unfair to me to consider to pay this debt. I have a family and attempting to make ends meet and this debt is a issue that continues

Consumer Complaint: I sent a request for debt VALIDATION not verification to LVNV Funding LLC regarding a debt they claim I owe them. In return they gave forwarded my request to a third party company Resurgent Capital Services who sent absolutely no validation not verification of any debt. I specifically asked for a signed document or supporting evidence that shows I am indeed the party they are seeking to pay this debt. Resurgent Capital Services only sent me a statement saying they manage the referenced account I inquired about and an amount owed. They are reporting delinquent information to the three major credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ) that I would like removed.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/18, I sent LVNV Funding a written notice of dispute and request for validation of a debt that is being reported as an unpaid collection account on my credit report. Original creditor account number XXXX. As is required by both the FDCPA, the FCRA, and the FCCPA, upon receipt of a dispute and request for validation of debt, the reporting entity is required to conduct an investigation of the dispute, and respond to the consumer within 30 days. As of XX/XX/18, I had not received a response to by dispute or request for validation from LVNV Funding. On XX/XX/18, I sent a follow up letter to LVNV Funding, advising them that they had not responded to my XX/XX/18 dispute and request for validation. It has now been more than thirty days since my second letter, and LVNV Funding has still failed to notify me of the results of their investigation, or to send me written validation of the debt. According the the FDCPA and the FCRA, LVNV Funding must now cease collection activity, and delete the entry from my credit report. I am requesting written confirmation from LVNV Funding that the item has been deleted from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: LVNV Funding and Resurgent have been trying to claim I owe them money for a collection account that I don't know where it came from. After an entire year of sending certified letters monthly asking to send validation of said account they only come back with a letterhead from there company, each and every time. I can not trace this debt on any of my credit reports. LVNV has failed to provide any sort of validation linking this said account they are trying to collect on to my ssn. I have also submitted a complaint with the SC XXXX. I've sent numerous certified letters to this company every month for an entire year. I am asking for this account to be deleted once and for all from my credit reports as they have failed to provide any accurate information linking said account to my ssn let alone an agreement bearing my signature.

Consumer Complaint: To Whom This May Concern : LVNV funding is reporting an account on my credit reports ( namely XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ) that does not belong to me. I have no knowledge of any debt with this company, and I have never received any correspondence letters, phone calls, etc. from them. I contacted them via mail requesting debt validation on XX/XX/XXXX using the contact information listed on my credit reports, but I have not received a response. Per the FCRA debt collectors are required to send a written debt validation notice, and this company has not done so, which places them in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which can carry fines up to {$1000.00} in court. Furthermore, I filed for Chapter XXXX bankruptcy XX/XX/XXXX, and the docket number is XXXX. All of my outstanding debt was included in this bankruptcy, which was discharged on XX/XX/XXXX. Since my discharge, I have not applied for or obtained any new debt, so it is impossible for me to owe this company.

Consumer Complaint: I spoke with the company who had this debt before, XXXX and asked them what this debt for back in XX/XX/XXXX. The customer service agent told me the debt was for an account I had signed up for back in XX/XX/XXXX. The customer service agent stated the account was started inside an office and then I informed them the company who says I have the debt was not in the state in which I lived. And there would be no reason for me for me to go to another state to get an account. The customer service agent informed me to write a letter stating I was not aware of the debt and it did not belong to me. Before I could get the letter in, they had switch the debt collection company and I've haven't had the chance to speak with the new company XXXX XXXX/Resurgent. No agency has yet to verified that the debt belongs to me.
