Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I recently had a notice for this company to contact me by mail for any correspondences because I hadn't received anything from them but the credit bureaus kept saying verified. How was this account ever verified when the address that they told me on XXXX was not my address nor has it ever been my address. I have not received any documents from LVNV. In my conversation with XXXX and supervisor ( I can not recall her name ) on XXXX the most recent conversation the representative dictated the WRONG address and said oh, that may be why you haven't received anything. I have disputed this account and the verification of this account with all the bureaus as well as with Resurgent ( LVNV ). I have NEVER received anything from them in regards to this account. When I asked the representative today what I could pay to settle this account because it was not my fault that I hadn't received anything she told me {$920.00} which I felt was unfair due to the fact that I was never notified of this account nor that they were going to place it on my credit file earlier. I feel this is unfair. In looking at my spam today after my knowledge of LVNV I found over 30 emails from XXXX XXXX in reference to LVNV dating from XXXX XXXX XXXX. How was I supposed to know about this account or any liabilities that I had from emails in a spam folder? How are these tactics above board? Why do I have to advocate so hard for myself when I am in the dark about this entire account that according to the representatives was sold to you in XX/XX/2019.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: To Whom it May Concern : I am writing this letter to notify you of a continuing violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) ) and the Fair Collection Practices Act committed by LVNV Funding. After several acts of disputes and letter submissions made on my end, each attempt proved futile. At times, some of the requests made were not even acknowledged with a response. As I attach some of the articles in this compliant evidencing correspondence that took place, it is unequivocally clear that I never made a refusal to pay, but gave notice that the claims alleged were disputed. Due to their negligence, noncompliance, and refusal to delete UNVERIFIED information from my consumer file, it has cost me tremendously in regards to employment opportunities, residency approvals, loan/credit line approvals, and administrative fees for the dispute process.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: I was victim of identity theft as a result of being homeless and did not have a physical address in 2012. Numerous accounts were open without my permission. The creditors calls and harass me daily for debt. I explained the set is not mines. They sent me some billing info with incorrect addresses and i explained are not mines. I was also told by the credit bureaus that my personal data was breached from the credit bureaus and i am still fighting that. I hired a credit repair company to help me with these disputes, as i am new to this. They are not coorporating and states that they are willing to take a settlement. I don't know what else to do so i am finally coming to you guys for some guidance please.

Consumer Complaint: I've been working diligently to improve my credit, despite having difficulties with collection agencies in the past. I've done my research and educated myself on debt collection practices and how to manage my personal finances better. I've been saving for quite some time to pay off my accounts in collections now and finally did. This was difficult as the collectors were unwilling to work with me at times. That said I was able to pay off the accounts owed in hopes of starting with a new slate on my credit. The collection agencies in question have not removed the accounts from my credit report yet resulting in my credit being damaged because of it. They informed me that they would stop reporting the accounts but haven't.
