Consumer Complaint: This company did not have permissible purpose to furnish anything on my consumer report. I did not give this company my written instructions to furnish anything on my consumer report. Furthermore, I did not engage in any consumer credit transaction with this company therefore they should not have any of my information. They have infringed upon a consumers right to privacy by obtaining my information without my consent. Moreover, the account is with XXXX XXXX XXXX which contains a finance charge and a finance charge is the sum of all charges, thus this account was paid in full when the company obtained my credit card ( social security number ). Under federal law, a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late for any purpose. This account shall not contain a balance nor should it be listed as a collection/charge-off account.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Portfolio Recovery Associates, XXXX, sent me a notice of an alleged collection account from XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$470.00}, by mail. This is a fraudulent account. I responded on XX/XX/XXXX, to Portfolio Recovery Associates, XXXX, by certified mail, with a debt validation letter- disputing the validity of this account, and a cease and desist with specified remedies- outlining the 30 days period to respond as required by law. On XX/XX/XXXX, Portfolio Recovery Associates, XXXX, responded to me through the mail that an alleged account was sold to them, in my name, on XX/XX/XXXX. The response failed to address my demand for documentation proving this alleged account is mine and failed to honor my cease and desist. This account presents defamation of character and derogatory remarks on my consumer credit reports and hinders me from operating freely as a consumer, in commerce.

Consumer Complaint: It's extremely upsetting knowing that you have somethimg in which is reporting incorrectly to credit report, especially with it not even with your name. Portfolio Recovery Assosciates are reporting on my credit report with the name " XXXX XXXX '' and it's not my name. This erroneous reporting account has hurt my chances of acquiring credit, to buy a home and acquire a desired job for a secure and sustainable life. This collection is completely invalid.

I just wrote them a letter asking them to verify the debt and to leave me alone and the debt isnt mine! They wont leave me alone Ive had to change my phone number. On my credit report I saw them saying how theyre contacting an attorney, I guess that means theyre going to prosecute me for debt that Im not even sure I owe!!! Theyre ruining my credit as well. Consumer Complaint: I had no idea about it. I wasn't getting notification. All of a sudden, I had debt collection call me through the day. I told them not to call me, but I still get calls from them from different numbers. The debt collectors kept pestering me even contacting families and acquaintances who I haven't seen for years, and then leaving scary, threatening messages ... and then I hear about it from multiple friends of their friends before it reaches me.
