Consumer Complaint: I recently reviewed my credit report and seen that Portfolio recovery LLC was trying to collect an alleged debt from me and reflected on my credit report. I disputed the account through XXXX and nothing was done it only updated. Pursuant to 15 USC 1681b ( a ) Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : ( 2 ) In accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. I never gave portfolio recovery LLC any written instructions to furnish anything on my credit report. This is a violation of the Fair credit reporting act. This account should be deleted from my credit report immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I have contacted Portfolio Recovery several times by certified mail ( with receipts ). This company continues to report negative collections to my credit report which is damaging my credit continuously. Portfolio Recovery tried to sue me in court for the collection of {$2800.00} / {$2800.00}, and failed to show up in court and the case was dismissed by the judge. Also, Portfolio Recovery has since then started reporting the false collection as 1 % paid on my credit report and updating this monthly. I HAVE NEVER PAID THIS COMPANY ANYTHING! This is causing a havoc to my lively hood and I would like this collection to be removed asap. Shame on this company for false reporting.
