Consumer Complaint: I have tried several time to get Portfolio Recovery to stop communicating with me via ALL mediums. I filed a complaint with CFPB # XXXX, the company responded on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX stating : 'Portfolio Recovery Associates , LLC ( PRA ) investigated your complaint, verified the PRA account ending XXXX XXXX and the accuracy of the information we furnished to the consumer reporting agencies regarding the account and found we have honored the request to cease all communications regarding the PRA account unless otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. PRA purchased the XXXXXXXX XXXX ( " XXXX '' ) XXXX credit card account ending in XXXX from XXXX, together with the right to receive payment of the balance due on the account, on or about XX/XX/XXXX. ' As of XX/XX/XXXX Portfolio Recovery is still reporting this misleading information on my consumer report. They have not honored the request to cease all communication, the letters that they have received are dated XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. In all of the letters mentioned I have requested cease communication with me on all mediums, included but not limited to all credit reporting agencies, telephone, mail, social media etc. Portfolio Recovery has continued to lie about what sent to me, and what laws they are following. Attached pleased find my most recent consumer reports showing that Portfolio Recovery is still communicating on my consumer report. Also please find all XXXX of the letters that were sent to Portfolio Recovery requesting them to cease communication.

Consumer Complaint: Repeatedly I have received phone calls from Portfolio Recovery. I answered one of the calls, and called independently, to tell them I have not debt, have a perfect credit rating, and they must be mistaken. They told me they will take me off the list of theirs. I still get the phone calls, once or twice a day. I have not owed anyone any money, have no debt and this is maddening.

Consumer Complaint: A law firm agreed to a settlement amount. They are now saying they will not honor that amount. Reason. I had previously made an agreement for an amount greater than the amount provided in a letter I received that looked like junk mail. I subsequently called the law firm back and stated that I will pay the amount that the letter stated. The service rep agreed and collected monies. All 5 bureaus were to be updated and reported as paid. Today they stated they would honor the original agreed amount with the first rep and that the rep who agreed to the letter amount was wrong and apologized. Could not talk to a manager.

Consumer Complaint: previously disputed XXXX BANK, account with a balance of {$2100.00} because its factually disputing incorrectly on credit report. I strongly disagreed with the results. XXXX is reporting account type open with comments stating collection account yet payment history XXXX as agree all the way. XXXX is reporting account type installment and account type detail Debt buyer with consecutive charge off all the way from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX reports account open with no data on payment, history. Date last active for XXXX reports as XX/XX/XXXX while XXXX XXXX report XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX reports XX/XX/XXXX. There is no way that account can be reported as open with XXXX bureau while the other bureau is reporting collection and theres definitely no way that account can be reported open and being in collection yet perfect payment history all at the same time. Account is a total mistake itself. There is no way that all three bureaus can be right if information is coming from the same furniture data.

Consumer Complaint: Portfolio Recovery is violating my consumer rights by furnishing inaccurate information to XXXX that is not even on my XXXX or XXXX. This defamation of character has led to me being a victim of unfair, abusive, and deceitful debt collection practices. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent Portfolio Recovery a letter to comply with 15 USC 1692g and they have not. I am enclosing a copy of the letter I sent to them, a copy of inaccurate information furnished to consumer report and a copy of my drivers license as proper identification.

Consumer Complaint: During the time of XXXX I unknowingly had multiple upon multiple credit cards opened in my name. I am not the owner of this debt, nor did I ever apply to get these credit cards. I was under the age of XXXX at these times and did not even know what credit was or how to apply for a credit card, let alone go apply for over XXXX credit cards at the age of XXXX & XXXX. I highly suspect my personal information was stolen by my mothers ex-fiance. The reason I highly suspect he did this is because I lived in his house at the time as well as my mother and little brother ( who also has a ruined credit score because of mothers ex-fiance committing identity theft ). Again I lived in his house during these times these credit cards were opened up, which means he had very easy access to my social security card as well as my birth certificate or any other extremely personal information he could use to falsely identify himself as me in order to get some easy money. My mom 's ex-fiances name is XXXX XXXX. I am willing to give any information about him or myself in order to fix my credit. This is not fair and I should not have to pay $ XXXX in collections for XXXX XXXX XXXX actions. I am willing to do whatever it takes to prove this wasn't my wrong doing.
