Consumer Complaint: I applied for a home improvement loan over the phone through XXXX XXXX at 9 % in XX/XX/XXXX of 2015. Prior to that, I had a checking account and a credit card with them that was in good standing. Because of this the fund was deposited into my checking account within a few days. Several weeks later, I received the loan documents in the mail requesting my signature and notice the interest rate was 18 % instead of 9 %. Immediately, I contacted the bank regarding this matter and was told, they would review the original phone call and make the proper adjustment. After a month, I checked my account and notice no change was made to the loan. I called again and was told once again that they would look into the matter and make the proper adjustment. Since then, I have made several phone calls, a visit to my local branch to resolved the matter, and was told over and over that they would make the changes but it never happened. After waiting for a year, I disputed the loan by certified mail. I gave them 30 days to respond but they never did. I have sent three certified letters and they have not validated my account bearing my signature. They are still reporting my account as being late to the credit bureaus and have refused to mark the account as disputed. This have greatly impacted my credit score negatively.

Consumer Complaint: My ex wife and I got a new vehicle loan from navy federal credit union for XXXX. We purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX and XXXX after tax, title and licensing. My car note was XXXX dollars per month for 60 months. For the first 32 months I never missed a payment totaling XXXX dollars. I also traded in a vehicle valued at XXXX dollars. After the first 32 months I refinanced for a lower payment which was reduced to XXXX per month. I assumed payments and payed over XXXX dollars over the next year and a half. My payments totaled over XXXX dollars with a few late payments and nfcu still said I owed XXXX dollars for this vehicle. After getting divorced I called NFCU to relinquish the vehicle because I could not afford it anymore and they agreed to pick it up. Within the next 72 hours they said the vehicle was totaled and they would not pick it up and that I was liable for the amount. But, I had already paid over the amount for that vehicle and It was not totaled it was still fully functional.

Consumer Complaint: I noticed that {$400.00} was missing from my account. I was trying to transfer funds to my other account and was told the amount was unable to be transferred due to insufficient funds. I transferred {$1000.00} to that account and know for a fact that the money was there. When I called and spoke to a representative and then asked to escalate to a supervisor, someone named XXXX told me that it was an automated collection. I do not owe anything through or to the bank. When I demanded my money back, she asserted that they had every right to take my money although it is not my bill. Fraudulent activity that I reported and they refused to rectify it.

Consumer Complaint: I am trying to have a late charge removed from my credit report that was placed by Navy Federal Credit Union. I have contacted them and disputed this information because I payed the late charge before it went to collections and was told that there would be no impact to my credit report because I did so. This happened in XX/XX/XXXXand I have been trying to resolve this ever since and Navy Federal refuses to resolve this issue. When I request to speak with a manager I am told they are not required to transfer me and they are going to terminate the call. I was never notified that I was late even know I gave the account alerts set up. I have never missed a payment with them since or before this incident. I am disagreeing with it being over 30 days late. Again I just want them to honor what I was told when I called and made the payment.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Problem after you declared or threatened to declare bankruptcy
Consumer Complaint: I 'recently filed bankruptcy and it was discharged on XX/XX/XXXX. I attempted to catch up car payments for XX/XX/XXXX and as a result, I called Navy federal, customer loan department. on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that I was eligible for a 2 month extension and to call back to confirm on XX/XX/XXXX. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and was told by XXXX XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy specialist ) that I could not get the extension and XXXX XXXX stated that he does not know whom have me that information. It must be noted that, there was a complete application that I had to undergo to apply for this extension which was given to Navy Federal representative over the phone. XXXX XXXX denies that there was ever a extension applied for and stated that I was given incorrect information. It should be noted that I prepared for the extension financially as a result of being told by the customer loan representative, that I was in fact, eligible for the extension and assured me that I would receive it. Now I am being told by XXXX XXXX, that I will not receive the extension and he is now threatening to retrieve my car. XXXX XXXX is clearly unsympathetic to my financial need and is holding the fact that I filed Bankruptcy, against me! by not approving any extension due to me filing bankruptcy. I am requesting that I be extended the extension as I did financially prepare for it and have made preparations to move into a new home. Not approving the extension would place great financial burden on me until such time as the original extension agreement can be completed. I am requesting that Navy federal honor the request that I was told that I was eligible for

Consumer Complaint: Good Evening, My identity is at risk. I 'm a veteran that 's going through a tough time and needed my credit repaired. A guy offered his services to me and seemed like an actual business ( business websites, XXXX videos and other social media 's outlets ). I paid for the service of {$750.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and followed his instructions to place a " freeze '' on my credit ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and etc ) and never heard from him again with no results. So I called my bank ( Navy Federal Credit Union ) on XX/XX/XXXX and asked if the bank would look into situation and they said they could not help. Then, I called the companies mentioned to have the " freeze '' removed and ask about how to submit a fraud alert to credit bureaus and later that same day the guy texts me saying I should see results soon. I 'm thinking since he 'd my information and probably could see if I removed the freeze at anytime, that would signaled him to start his next phase of fraudulence to contact me to keep me calm. I have all the texts and information I sent him, his name, email, phone number, business name and bank information ( but I would not be surprised if he changed all of this ).

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Banking errors
Consumer Complaint: {$330.00} was withdrawn from my checking account XX/XX/XXXX to satisfy a previous account that was closed XX/XX/XXXX with NFCU that did not have an outstanding balance. The last communication that I have had with NFCU with regard to this account that was closed was in XX/XX/XXXX and it was satisfied in order to open a new account with them which is still active to date. The bank advised that both accounts were active at the same time however they were not because I was not able to open the new account without satisfying the closed account. I have since had an auto loan with them in which I paid off early, a personal loan ( still active ), a savings account ( active ) as well as a checking account ( active ) and at no time did NFCU reach out to me outside of XX/XX/XXXX to discuss the closed account or any balance owed on the account instead almost 4 years later they debit funds out of my account without notice causing it to go into the negative. I asked that they send a copy of the last statement for the closed account they are collecting for as well as the 1st statement for the account that was opened around that time neither of which has been provided to me yet, I am asking that my funds be placed back into my account as it is not owed to them nor can they justify the lack of communication for almost four years on an account they believed to be delinquent that was satisfied. They could only advise that they do not send notices out nor do they call on delinquent checking accounts that are closed, please do tell how would a consumer know funds are owed on an account that was satisfied and not open at the time that the new account was established. I would like the last statement for the account they are saying had a balance as well as the 1st statement for the account that was opened in XX/XX/XXXX.
