Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am having a problem with a credit card obtained from Navy Federal which I am making payments on and against the balance owed. My payment history is not reflecting as it should and thereby keeping my credit scores low, in a time when I need to purchase a home and make transactions which a lower score ( as the types identified with late payments ) will keep me in a higher interest bracket. I called Navy Federal and they said they would not report my payments until the entire balance is paid off, again this is something that has never happened and which is detrimental to my advancement in the purchases I would like to make and the interest for which I believe I should qualify. I opened the account while I was XXXX in XXXX and am a XXXX veteran. I would like assistance with this matter and would like the payments to show as they should so that potential lenders can see that I am indeed making payments and meeting my obligations.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I submitted a complaint XXXX, concerning my home loan being reviewed for foreclosure, because I had been told I could make a payment. I requested the telephone calls be reviewed. On XX/XX/2019, I received a message from XXXX stating Navy Federal claimed I had not submitted the Hardship packet. However, this is not true and I have the tracking receipt to prove the packet was received. I never received a letter or anything concerning my Hardship packet, but I received a letter stating my home was being sold on XX/XX/2019, and people have been texting and calling my phone concerning the sale of my home. I am a XXXX veteran and I have a XXXX XXXX and I am awaiting VA benefits for XXXX, so the fear of being homeless is affecting me in a horrible manner. Why request I send in a packet and under documentation if there was no intent to assist me. I emailed Navy Federal a copy of the transaction receipt, because I do not feel the information provided to me over the telephone can be relied upon since this last issue occurred. I have no idea if calls were received or update on packet.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: This complaint is regarding my case # XXXX with Navy Federal Credit Union. On XX/XX/2019, I noticed an debit in the amount of {$840.00} from my checking account. I immediately contacted NFCU, and I was advised that this was a debit from XXXX. I then advised the representative that I had not authorized XXXX to debit any funds from my account. At that time I was given a provisional credit for the same amount. On XX/XX/2019, I noticed that NFCU had once again debited that same amount of {$840.00}, that as given to me as a provisional credit from my account. I have not authorized any transactions to XXXX in the amount of {$840.00} and I am in possession of my debit card that is linked to my checking account. I am requesting that the total amount of {$840.00} be returned back to my account. I am a single parent and to have unauthorized transactions debited from my account is fraudulent. I have paid my cellular phone bills to XXXX with my NFCU checking account when I was a customer of theirs, however, I am a customer with XXXX XXXX XXXX now and has been for 6 months. XXXX has obviously and without my consent used my previous payment information to withdraw the {$840.00} from my account. That is not fair and it's criminal. I did not even know that a company is allowed to keep your payment information on their files and use it at their convenience. If XXXX has a problem with me owing them money, then there are collection procedures and even court that can be utilized, but they should not be able to take money from my account without my authorization or knowledge. Please help me get this issue resolved because NFCU has not resolved this issue fairly.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/XXXX a withdrawal from my checking account was transferred to an external bank account for a name of a person my wife or I have never heard of in the amount of {$1600.00}. And another on XXXX XX/XX/2019 for {$1600.00}. My wife noticed and notified me. I called Navy Federal Credit Union and file a fraud claim with them that day. The payment that was deducted that day was returned to our account a couple of days later. I was told someone accessed our account and it was with an email we had never used. We were not notified of the change to our account we have had for about 20 years. The security department took the claim and looked into it and told us there was no error, but they did not talk to us and we were never notified when the new access to our account was established. No explanation was provided about the transactions or what they investigated only that their was no error and we were responsible for the funds. I set up the first ever external bank account to transfer fund to and did that in person at a navy federal in XXXX off of XXXX XXXX. and transferred the funds in person and the second time too. Find it suspicious it all happened around this time that is when someone accessed our account with other emails and I was not notified. Security department has provided no information other than no error.
