Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Information belongs to someone else

Consumer Complaint: Due to the XXXX breach, I found out that in XX/XX/XXXX, Navy Federal Credit Union placed an illegal tradeline, a credit card account ending in XXXX, on my personal XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX credit reports. Since that time, I have sent multiple letter to Navy Federal Credit to provide me validation that this account was mine in accordance to FACTA law including, but not limited to : a application or electronic consent to open this account with my signature or voice approval. As recently as XX/XX/XXXX, I tried to contact them in attempt to resolve this matter to no avail. To date, Navy FCU has not sent me any documentation that this account was mine, stating this a Joint account, which I did not agree to have opened. I have also disputed multiple times with the credit bureaus, each time Navy FCU said this bogus credit card account was mine. Further, since XX/XX/XXXX, Navy FCU had deducted payments from my checking account ( # XXXX ), and closed it in XX/XX/XXXX without any notice ( mail or email ) to me. In XX/XX/XXXX, I placed a complaint with the National Credit Union Administration ( NCAU ). In response, the NCAU emailed me stating that my complaint was not handled by their organization, and to file with CFPB and FTC.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX {$500.00} was deducted from my Everyday checking account and only listed as an adjustment. After contacting Navy Federal Credit Union the same day, I received a response from them on XX/XX/XXXX in which they stated " the adjustment was for an overdraft from XX/XX/XXXX which occurred on an E checking account that they closed, and If I felt that it was done in error, then I could call the recovery department to correct the issue. Upon calling the recovery department I was transferred three times until I ended up speaking to the inside the fraudulent claims department in which I spoke to a young lady who told me that she would file a claim but was unsure if it would even go through since the amount of time has been so long. I told her that I was never contacted by anyone in regard to the overdraft or the account being close even though I have visited their branches recently and have made deposits to my Everyday Checking account a number of times. She went on to say that the account was closed, charged off and s listed a bad debt after I told her that I could not have made the withdrawal that was listed due to me being in another state other than where it was made.

Subissue: Account opened as a result of fraud

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 my checking account was hacked at Navy Federal Credit Union. I reported the compromise XX/XX/2020 to the company that {$3800.00} was ACH transferred to another bank without my consent. Since the compromise the company will not answer my question or let me talk to anyone in the security department. In summary I am a victim of Identity theft and also bank fraud.

Issue: Improper use of your report

Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize

Consumer Complaint: I am currently in the process of refinancing my mortgage with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I happen to have a second mortgage with Navy Federal and XXXX XXXX XXXX sent Navy Federal a subordination request. After a very arduous process Navy finally received information requested. I got an alert that a hard inquiry had occurred on my credit report. I thought it was XXXX XXXX XXXX as Im in the process of refinancing. Did some research and found out it was Navy Federal. Why Navy Federal will pull my credit without first consulting me and while I am in the process of refinancing. That inquiry could impact my loan. They referred me to the FCRA and that they have a right to pull my credit. I would have wanted to be given the option or told that to subordinate to XXXX XXXX XXXX a hard inquiry needed to be obtained, I would have at that point decided to go forward or not. But to be blindsided like this and pulling my credit without permission or consent to me is problematic.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card

Consumer Complaint: I have opened a dispute with navy Federal due to over 8k worth of unauthorized charges on my navy federal platinum card. My account was temporarily credited during their investigation. I was later notified that my credits were being reversed. I contacted the rep and asked why and I was told due to some information from receipts matching mine. I asked what information and he said name, email, and phone number. I let him know that is public information that could easily be found online and asked if I could appeal. I appealed, with my appeal I sent them a letter from one of the creditors freeing me of any debt owed to them due to fraudulent activity because they agreed my information had been compromised, along with my public information that I found online, i.e. phone numbers, emails, and addresses. ( Any criminal can use the dark web to find out anything ). I do not know when or how my card and information had been compromised, however, I contacted some of the businesses and did my own investigations and most of my information if any did not even match my own, most importantly NONE of them had my home address for any deliveries. I also asked when doing my appeal to please forward me any documentation inclusive to their investigation that would cause another denial. They have again denied my appeal and have not provided me with any supporting documentation. This over charge to my account has caused a tremendous drop to my credit scores and has a negative effect to my lively hood. I am finding this to be very unethical.
