Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: Interest was jacked up to 29.99 % APR on my business cards due to some missed payments. Fine, its in the " rules ''. I've managed to stay up to date for at least 19 months ... Chase will still not reduce the APR. Reduce it to half, maybe I'd be able to actually get it paid off. Not what they want... they want to keep me under their thumb to squeeze every dollar they can get. Kinda sounds like a XXXX situation to me.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX is truly a mom & pop business. Our accountant going through our yearly tax & finances noted a large check was withdrawn from our business checking account on XX/XX/2022. A image of the check was from a company name of XXXX XXXX XXXX with the address from Washington DC. The check was made out to XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$15000.00} & drawn from XXXX XXXX XXXX brought it to the attention of our bank JP Morgan Chase to the fact of a unauthorized signature, check sequence, incorrect routing number. I was told to order a new account & the funds will be re-credited. A week later i recived notice the claim was denied. I relied on the bank to be professionals in the finance business & obviously have a grooss negligent mistake & should be totally responsible. A police report # XXXX

Consumer Complaint: RE : " XXXX '' ( at the present time, Chase NOT is willing to accept responsibility for what's happened to me ). I am currently customer of JP Morgan Chase. On XX/XX/2022, I was informed [ by phone ] by XXXX people identifying themselves as " XXXX XXXX XXXX '', that my personal info was stolen, and that someone attempted to siphon monies from my Chase acct using XXXX. To " reverse '' this theft, I was advised to add " Payment Cancellation '' to my Receipt list on XXXX, and then " send '' {$380.00} in order to cancel the payment ( pls note-the scam was ALOT more sophisticated than what I'm able to describe here ). By the time I did realize it was a scam, I " XXXX '' {$380.00} to a PERSON named, " XXXX XXXX ''. What's important here, is that a bank ALLOWED someone to open an acct with the name " XXXX XXXX ''. I was later told by a XXXX rep that this was a common problem of theirs, and, whoever opened the account, quickly closed it after withdrawing my funds. But I was informed by XXXX XXXX that, since Chase is my bank, it is they who are responsible, and not XXXX XXXX XXXX. Nevertheless, to date Chase has refused to accept ANY responsibility. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a customer wiring instructions for our company account. On XX/XX/XXXX the customer called to confirm we had changed our account which was not correct. He sent me a copy of the email which appeared to be from our company which stated we had changed our bank and the customer was now supposed to send the funds to JP Morgan Chase Bank N.A. I called JP Morgan Chase fraud department to report what had happened. The routing number was for the Chase Bank in XXXX, XXXX but the account number they did not recognize. I explained that this was a wire for over {$700000.00} and someone should look into the fact that someone was using Chase bank to steal money. I really did not get a answer but he gave me a phone number to call back in 7 to 10 days and they could update me. I called the number got routed around several times and finally a women answer and said there was nothing they could do and would not look into what happened. I told her someone was using their bank gave them all the information account number etc and they just said sorry nothing they can do.

Consumer Complaint: My checking account with chase Bank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX We received a check from a court order case on a mechanics lien. On XX/XX/23 I deposited the check into my checking account for {$130000.00} I was informed on XX/XX/23 that my account was restricted due to fraud. I was told I had to provide a phone number of the issuer. I did provide a phone number but I was told it did not match what they had in their database. So I got another number which I gave to them on XX/XX/23 and they said it was not a connected phone number. I asked them to just call the number in their database and I was told they do not have one. Then I was told to provide the Bank representative and phone number. I went into the XXXX XXXX XXXX with the information. Chase Bank lifted the restriction on my account but said I had to wait until XX/XX/23 for the {$130000.00} funds. I also confirmed that Chase Bank received the funds from the bank and the check cleared on XX/XX/23. On XX/XX/23 I verifed the funds were in my checking account. On XX/XX/23, I went to transfer money from my business account into my checking account via payroll checks. I was told that the account was closed effective XX/XX/23. I asked where my money is that was in the account and the said that a check was being mailed to me and I should receive it within 10 business days. On XX/XX/23 I received a check for the funds that were in my account prior to the {$130000.00} deposit, I called the bank to find out where the {$130000.00} is and they confirmed they have the money but they will not release the funds to me until I can provide them with a phone which I have already confirmed does not exist. They said they will hold the funds indefinitely until I provide the phone number. Chase has my money but refuses to give it to me.

Consumer Complaint: A check that I had placed in my mailbox on or about XX/XX/22 to be mailed out to pay the bill to the water company was taken at some point either from my mailbox or during mailing and altered for a different amount and made out to a different person, and my account was debited for {$6800.00} when the check was originally made out for {$100.00}. I noticed this issue on XX/XX/22 and immediately notified Chase Bank, my bank. The following day, I went in and filed a fraud claim with Chase on XX/XX/22. I received a letter from Chase about two weeks later that they had filed a claim with the other bank on my behalf. I have still not received my money back and have had no further update from Chase. My understanding is the other bank that cashed the altered check is XXXX XXXX XXXX.
