Consumer Complaint: I noticed {$500.00} missing from my checking account through a XXXX transaction, so I immediately contacted the bank and made the claim. Then the next day I had went to the chase closest to me to talk to a banker who also called the banks online services and claims department who informed me that the claim was immediately closed just 1 day after I made it. So I then called XXXX and chase again trying to appeal the claim so that I can finally get more information on the case but they wouldnt go any more further through to help me out in my time of need. I called again today ( XXXX XXXX ) to talk to the claims department supervisor to get any information that I can keep record of in case I wish to build a case, but she denied every question that I asked even though I was provided the same information before but failed to keep record of.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX chase mortgage charged off the XXXX on my home, I haven't heard anything from them there was never an attempt to collect it was charged off. in XXXX I receive a notice from IRS stating Chase bank said I owed them more than {$200000.00} and that I was responsible for paying taxes on the debt that's more than 14 years old and was charged off, I called chase on more than one occasion I was told that they didn't know what I was speaking of, I was told it was a scam, I was told there was no attempts made by chase bank. I called the IRS who confirmed the detail from Chase, I advised the IRS that I wasn't responsible to pay taxes on bad debt that was charged off more than 14 years ago and that once a account is charged off to bad debt the company can use it as part of the tax write offs, hence Chase is trying to collect on something that was charged off and received tax credit. I don't owe this money or any monies to chase or to the IRS. Chase erroneously sent my file to the IRS and lied to say I received {$200000.00} which is false.

Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX JP Morgan Chase began charging a {$12.00} fee if theres a balance below {$1500.00}. I complained to the banker explaining this was an unreasonable fee for a XXXX XXXX and that I had been a long time customer ( since XXXX ) with a XXXX XXXX for over 12 years. I think its an unfair practice to go back on a contract with a customer. Its not possible to maintain that high balance on a fixed income.
