Consumer Complaint: Someone opened up a fraudulent Discover credit card in my name on XX/XX/17 the balance of the card is XXXX. I have called Discover sent them a copy of the police report along with a copy of my FTC report saying that it was a fraudulent account. They keep stating that they have information that matches my information of course they would have the information because someone stole my whole identity. Please help me resolve this problem. Consumer Complaint: I got a Discover it secured credit card XX/XX/XXXX billing cycle got a lot of negatives off my credit my. I got the secured card in XX/XX/2018 my brother same situation but alot of negatives on his credit and still does. He got his card a month later he makes alot more money I am XXXX. They r discriminating agaisnt me salary and XXXX also XXXX XXXX that I have complain to u about them. It's always about the XXXX peoplrei sm XXXX off iam XXXX I contacted legsl services. XXXX XXXX is agaisnt the XXXX. Well my brother graduated I got a better fico score my vantage score should be staying XXXX but they never did off cycle. Discover or XXXX XXXX. I know u haven't help me but when I get an attorney covering all angles. White people rdiscriminated agaisnt also.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was checking my Discover Card statement I noticed two separate charges at XXXX that I did not purchase : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX STORE - # XXXX XXXX MD XXXX XXXX {$350.00} XX/XX/XXXX XXXX STORE - # XXXX XXXX MD XXXX XXXX {$420.00} From what I could tell someone accessed my XXXX online account which had my discover card in it. They made these two separate purchases and then picked them up in store, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MD XXXX. I disputed the charges with Discover right away ( XX/XX/XXXX ) stating I did not make these purchases and the quickly reversed the charges. However once they spoke with XXXX, XXXX provided them with the receipts for the purchase which Discover deemed valid and then re-charged me. I received the dispute case closure notifications on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX for each charge. I have since sent a notarized form to XXXX also disputing the charges. I received a response on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX just stating the same thing saying it was valid and I need to follow up with Law Enforcement. On a side note on XX/XX/XXXX the person returned one of the items at a different store, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MD XXXX, and I did not see that return charge on my Discover Card. So as of right now I have been charged {$780.00} for items I did not purchase.

Consumer Complaint: I moved to a new home on XX/XX/XXXX to be closer to services for my XXXX child and during my move, my postal mail did not reach my new address in a timely manner. Consequently, Discover Card charged me {$27.00} late fee and {$5.00} in interest charges in fees on a {$270.00} balance. In the confusion of relocating with a XXXX XXXX child, I regretted not finding the time to notify Discover of my new address, so I paid the fees without complaint, but in addition to receiving an effective APR of 71 % for a two month late payment, Discover reported a late payment to the credit reporting agencies. Although the Discover Card website states that they will give " goodwill adjustments '' to customers who make a one-time mistake ( https : //www.discover.com/credit-cards/resources/how-to-raise-your-credit-score-fast/ ). As I've had no other derogatory remarks from Discover during my 21 years of being a customer, I requested a goodwill adjustment on XX/XX/XXXX, but was told that Discover no longer gives goodwill adjustments despite Discover 's own website recommending that longterm customers request one ( please see link above ). Due to this derogatory mark, I'm unable to refinance loans to free up funds to assist my XXXX child.

This has never been my name nor have I authorized such name change as, there is not supporting documentation that exists that shows this is or was name. Discover Financial Services can not provide proof of who initiated this name change, nor can they provide proof that this is not a fraudulent account, initiated by someone else attempting to use my name.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX and I have been a customer of Discover since XXXX of 2012. This was my first credit card I have ever had. I have never had any issues with discover and they have always treated me fairly. On XX/XX/XXXX of this year I was a victim of credit card fraud for the amount of {$4300.00}. This transaction was made at a jeweler that is about a two hour drive from where I live. Upon noticing the transaction I searched through my wallet and notices the Discover card was missing. I called Discover and informed them of the fraudulent transaction. The first interaction I had went well as the rep I spoke to was very sympathetic and reassured me that I would not be liable for the transaction. I also explained to her that I had just made a purchase through XXXX that was not fraudulent around the same time. I was able to make this transaction because my Discover card information has always been saved to my XXXX account. The rep I spoke to was very understanding and I ended the conversation feeling very calm as it seemed Discover would handle the situation and my credit score would be okay. A couple months later I received a notification from one of the credit agencies saying my credit score decreased because my percentage of credit used shot up. I checked all my credit cards and noticed that my discover card balance had shot up well over {$4000.00}. The fraudulent charge from XXXX had been reapplied to my account. I had to wait until the next business day to contact that department because they were closed. Once I contacted the Discover department that handles these investigations I spoke to a gentleman that wasnt very helpful. I asked him a few questions and his responses were very condescending. Throughout the conversation I asked him to give me the reason for the charge being applied back on my account. The reasons he gave me were very vague and all based on assumptions. There was no actual proof that I had made the purchase but the gentleman I spoke to accused me of having done the fraudulent charge myself. The gentleman told me that the vendor had supplied them with a copy of my drivers license and that it was presented at the point of sale. Discover has not send me a copy of this information for me to be able to dispute it. I never lost my license. The only items missing from my wallet were a few business cards, my discover card, a XXXX gift card and a small amount of cash. I submitted an affidavit to Discover with photo evidence of my Discover card being saved to my XXXX account as this seemed to be one of the reasons that discover is assuming I am guilty. I am willing to drive to XXXX ( 2 hours away ) to file a police report but I was told I did not have to by the first representative I spoke to. I have been trying very hard to pay off all my debt, primarily my credit cards, so that I could apply for a home equity line of credit so that I could go back to school and finish my degree. I have had to put that all on hold because of this issue and I am missing summer classes that will put me behind another year to getting my degree. This has been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience for me as I do not have the funds readily available to me to be able to pay off this large of an amount off of my credit card. This is also negatively impacted my credit score which I have been trying very hard to improve. I am very surprised that this transaction wasnt blocked as it was made so far away from the town where I live ( and very rarely leave ) and it was a large purchase from a jewelry store ; the most expensive piece of jewelry I own is an {$80.00} pair of earrings that I havent worn since college.

Consumer Complaint: I WAS IN XXXX FOR TWO YEARS IN VERY REMOTE AREAS. AS SOON AS I LEARNED OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES I CONTACTED DISCOVER ON PHONE. FROM XXXX. THEY ASSURED ME NOT TO WORRY. I HAVE NO ACCESS TO ORIGNAL DOCUMENTATIN BECAUSE DISCOVER CHANGED MY ACCOUNT NUMBER TO PROTECT ME AND NOTHING APPEARS. I SUPPLIED THEM WITH COPIES OF MY NOTES TO THE MERCHANT STATING THEY STOLE FROM ME AND OWED ME. XXXX XXXX. I EXPLAINED IT ALL TO DISCOVER IN MANY DISPUTES FOR EACH OF THESE CHARGES EXCEEDING 5000 DOLLARS. I SHOWED THEM HOW I HAD PAID WITH XXXX, AND XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX AND EXPLAINED HOW I WAS TOLD DISCOVER CHARGES DID NOT GO THROUGH BY THE MERCHANT. I NEVER WAS SHARED WHAT DISCOVER DISCOVERED FROM THEM SO HOW COULD I COMMENT ON THAT THEY HAD. THIS IS AN XXXX MERCHANT, THEY ARE NOT HONEST AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO HAVE A DISCOVER CHARGE IN ANOTHER CITY THE DATES THEY SAY THEY ARE GIVING ME SERVICES ALSO. NOW THAT 2 YEARS HAS PASSED DISCOVER JUST PASSES IT OFF AND DOES NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH IT. NO MANAGER EVER GAVE ME THE ATTENTION I REQUESTED. I HAD A MERCHANT ACCOUNT WITH DISCOVDR FOR MY BUSINESS, ALWSAYS PERFECT STANDING, LOW BALANCES UNTIL THIS, AND I EVEN OFFERED TO SETTLE WITH THEM. IT IS LIKE I AM GETTING A FORM RESPONSE THAT DOES NOT EVEN RESPOND TO MY SPECIFICS .... THEY NEVER MAILED ME WHAT THEY SAID THEY DID AND I HAVE ASKED TEHM TO UPLOAD ONTO MESSAGE CENTER, NEVER DONE. I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM MAYBE 10 YEARS. THERE IS NO WAY TO RESOLVE THIS WITH THE THIEVES IN XXXX UNILESS I GO THERE TO THE GOVERNMENT. THAT IS UNREALISTIC. IT IS ALSO AGAINST THIER STATED INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION POLICY. I AM JUST SPINNING MY WHEELS SINCE 2017. IF DISCOVER LOOKED REALLY OR TRIED TO UNDERSTAND IT IS ALSO IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO WITH THE DOC I SHOWD TO SPEND THE DISCOVER PORTION OF OVER 5 THOUSAND AND THE XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX AND XXXX PORTIONS OF HUNDREDS MORE AT THIS TINY PLACE. I OFFERED A SETTLEMENT, AND DEMANDED NO INTEREST AND EVERY REPLY I GET IS FROM A DIFFERENT PERSON AND NO ONE PERSON LOOKED AT THIS GROUP OF FRAUD CHARGES FROM THIS ONE MERCHANT SO NOTHING WAS HANDLED OR INVESTIGATED REASONABLY. I HAVE NEVER DISPUTED LARGE CHARGES, I HAVE WORKED HARD, OWNED MY OWN BUSINESSES, PAID ALL ON TIME WITH THEM NEVER FOR PERIODS HAD LARGE BALANCES, BUT PAYING THIS 5 PLUS THOUSAND TO THEM AND THE INTEREST IS NOT JUST OR ACCEPTALBE.
