Consumer Complaint: I have reported identity theft to XXXX. I sent them a police report identifying the Discover credit card account, and the other supporting documents that they require. XXXX has refused to follow FCRA 605B and delete the fraudulent information that is identified in the police report. I sent it more than XXXX days ago. The Discover account that must be deleted and blocked for identity theft is XXXX opened XXXX XX/XX/2012 and it has a fraudulent balance of {XXXX} on it. I have also provided the police report and my statement to Discover about this account and they refuse to follow the FCRA and remove it as fraud as they are required to do within XXXX days. It is becoming a common problem that XXXX refuses to follow the law, and they are acting to harm consumers knowingly and willingly. Discover is also particularly bad at following the law and removing fraudulent accounts.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: On my current statement, with closing date XXXX/XXXX/2019, I have a mysterious fee called " MINIMUM INTEREST CHARGE FEE '' of {$0.00}. The company can not provide an explanation of what this fee is for. The account is frozen and not being used at all, and the balance on the account is on an interest-free promotion until XXXX/XXXX/2019. There should be no interest or fees at all until that date. The company appears to be extremely disorganized, the secure messaging system on their website is almost unusable, it is erratic and returns errors upon an attempt to send a message, at other times staff answer messages but are untrained, incompetent and have no idea what they are writing about. I have another complaint filed previously about a similar but different issue ( direct interest ), I received one e-mail from the company 's corporate office promising an investigation but this has not happened and they do not answer communications either. A start-to-finish disaster.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: Hi. My name is XXXX XXXX. I have never had a Discover Card. I have been a victim of identity theft and have worked hard to get it removed from my report. For some reason a bankruptcy has been reporting on my report on XXXX and I am working with them to get it removed. It has been removed from XXXX and XXXX. It was a dismissed bankruptcy, nonetheless, it shouldn't be there. On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for a Discover Secured IT account so that I could start rebuilding credit. I have an installment loan reporting but I needed a secured card. I applied and I was denied. When I called to ask why, they said it was because of the Bankruptcy. I took it for what it was. Well then, in one of my credit groups a young lady said she had gotten approved for an unsecured discover it card and she has a bankruptcy that was discharged in XXXX. So now that I see this, I really want to know what is going on and what is the real reason that I was denied. Is it because Discover doesn't like me? What is it? I don't understand. It made me feel that she either beat the system or that I am being discriminated against. I would like my application to be reviewed manually and for someone to reach out to me.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: Upon my receipt Discover 's annual year end summary XXXX, I noticed that I was being charged to separate interest rates. I had never seen this before, as I had never really reviewed any of their annual year end summaries. I filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General 's Office ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and Discover 's EO of Customer Advocacy, XXXX XXXX, insisted that I agreed to a promotional offer, and I did not. The matter has been an ongoing back and for rehashing of the XXXX XXXX repeating that I accepted the promotion offer, and me of course adamantly denying this fact. None the less I and still being charged 2 separate interest rates. In lieu of all of this, I have never been offered the opportunity to pay off the balance of the promotional to eliminate the need for 2 interest rates, nor am I allowed to allocate my monthly payments. I called into customer service on or about XX/XX/XXXX, to inquire as the reason for the replacement card. I was then advised that it was due to the New Chip, as my old card did not have a chip. I then asked why only one card when my spouse is an authorized user and yet only one replace card was received. The customer service representative advised that a replacement card would be sent in the name of my spouse. At this point, XXXX XXXX is claiming that I agreed to the promotional and has not provided a copy of the recorded conversation stated that I agreed to any promotional. I totally understand the fundamentals of promotional offers and from time to time I take advantage of promotional offer when it is beneficial to my needs. And this particular offer would not have been in my best interest or beneficial to me in any form. My XXXX account is attached to my Discover Card, considering that myself and spouse are constantly making purchases on XXXX. With this in mind I can not not feasibly see their alleged promo being of any benefit to me.
