Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing. I appreciate your effort in getting this matter resolved. Thank you. Please let me know if you need any other information from me to block this information from my credit report. Thank you.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I got a loan with Discover when I was still in school and didn't fully understand about financing options. I had 4 different loans with them totaling ( as of XX/XX/XXXX ) over {$26000.00}. I started working on reducing my loans total and managed to pay off one of the loans. As of XX/XX/XXXX my balance was {$23000.00} and I started paying MORE ( but not a lot since I can't afford it ) than my minimum monthly payment. Even then, my balance has constantly crept back up and now it's {$23000.00} ( after 2 months of more than minimum payments ). My payments go mostly to interest payment, not principal balance. When I talked with them, I was told that interest accrues daily, so I pay interest first. I find this unfair, and would like to be able to make principal payments first.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Several years ago, I was in a bit of financial trouble. I asked for a temporary freeze on my account to help me get through it. I was granted the request allowed the auto pay from my account for a year. I continued to make payments over the course of the following year and have almost paid the debt completely off. All payments were made on time and at larger sums that previously. My credit score is the highest it has been in the last two years but I just received an email that my account is being closed due to my credit score. How is this possible when its the highest it has been? I reached out to customer support to see if my account was going to be closed in XXXX since I noticed I wasn't able to use the card yet. He replied no my account wasn't going to be closed yet a couple months later it is. Now by closing this account you are hurting my credit score that I have worked really hard to build back up again. Your reasoning makes no sense, and how convenient once you get your money you close my account but not 2 years ago when I had a higher balance.
