Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXXof former friend use my information and created an account with XXXX I have reached and notified XXXX that I was not the one who made the account and that my information was used with out I never purchased anything from XXXX myself however XXXX did not close the account nor did they conduct any investigation to my claim I haven't heard from XXXX since the first bill until I was served papers in XX/XX/XXXX almost two years later saying that Not only was this in collections but they have sold my account and information to another company I was never notified of the sale or them even planning to to sell through the filed Court claim I learned that the company that they sold it to was Jefferson Capital Systems LLC collection agency. In the bill of sale/purchase agreement it clearly states that Jefferson capital systems has to update XXXX with any payment information that is concurrent and dates of payment and XXXX has to report those changes to the credit report bureau promptly and both companies failed to do so.they have already gone through the court process and had this account to be garnished from my job a year later they did garnish my paychecks starting from XX/XX/XXXX until it's completely paid off from XXXX which is my place of work my issue is that all my credit report it does not reflect to which collection agency XXXX sold my account to or who purchased that account nor does it have an update stating that the account was paid in full and is closed and been satisfied instead of says it's delinquent and it's really putting a big red mark on my credit I would like that do you have updated I believe I should have me at my money back due to the fact that is not wasn't me who opened the account but at this time I just would like to have my information updated on my credit report report there is no report from Jefferson Capital Systems LLC even having this account or that it was in collections that it was open and they're working on suing me and it doesn't say that I was garnished and paid it off last year

Consumer Complaint: I discovered today that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX. XXXX MN has been falsely reporting to the credit bureaus that a debt they purchased and obtained XX/XX/2019 is a new debt. On their website they falsely claim that the credit bureaus require that XXXX XXXX report the date they acquired a debt as the open date. My credit score has lost over 70 points because of their shady collection practices. A collection debt is a continuation of an original debt and this company is purposefully falsely reporting to credit bureaus the open date of accounts in order to negatively impact the debtors. This IS NOT A NEW DEBT. In their FAQs page they clearly state that if you pay your debt they will delete it from your credit report after 30 days. They also do not contact the debtors to inform the debtor that they are the collector and they try to excuse this on their page as well. Giving the debtor no opportunity to refute the debt.
