Consumer Complaint: The Citi bank is a BIG FRAUD, stole my $ XXXX! I opened a checking account and deposited $ XXXX for its promotion bonus. However, within two weeks, my account was closed by the its fraud department, and the customer service had terrible accents, and insulted me over the phone without giving me any explanation for locking my account. They said I will receive my money by check. I tried to go to the branch or called over the phone, they just repeated the same thing and asked me to wait. Over a month has passed, I never received my money back. Government and law enforcement please do something! Help me get my money back, and sue this fraudulent bank!

Whenever I call Citis customer service and their fraud department, the people attending in the call center are not able to let me know the reason why my account is not working, and are not able to remove the block either. Consumer Complaint: On Friday XX/XX/2022 I received an alert that my Citibank account had fraudulent charges. I immediately called Citibank and found out that there were XXXX transactions that were blocked, as well as a {$50000.00} wire transfer that I never authorized. I asked Citibank how to handle this fraud case, I followed their instructions and placed a block on my account to prevent any further transactions. I called many times that night to make sure my account was safe. I tried following up with them over the weekend but the fraud department was closed. I called the wire fraud department first thing on Monday XX/XX/2022. I was told that early that morning ( XX/XX/XXXX ) my account block was lifted and another wire transfer of {$50000.00} was taken from my account. Again, I went through the whole process of blocking my account. I also asked Citibank why a wire transfer was sent out again after I clearly reported wire fraud for the same amount one business-day earlier, to which they had no answer. They advised me to place a block on my account again. But they could not guarantee that the nefarious actor wouldnt be able to call in again, lift the block, and wire transfer again. There was no security option in place to protect my account at this point AT ALL. I decided to go to Citibank, request a cashiers check for my full remaining balance and I opened an account with a safer bank. After reporting both wire fraud instances to Citibank, I also filled out an affidavit of unauthorized wire transfer that Citibank requested for both fraud instances and emailed them to XXXX After that I spent the next week calling asking for status, I was told that at most the investigation could take 90 days. Once 90 days passed without receiving any information from Citibank I start calling into Citibanks Wire Fraud Escalation Department as well as the IRU department often ( every week/two weeks ) and get the same response that my case is pending approval and I should receive a letter in 7-10 days. It has now been 5 months, or about 150 days since my initial fraud instances I have heard nothing about the status of my case. Citibank keeps telling me I will receive a decision in 7-10 days but I never receive or hear anything from them.

Consumer Complaint: I supposedly had a debt from the early XXXX in which this company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NH XXXX phone number listed is XXXX is claiming I still owe and they are collecting from a credit card company. The debt is so old I dont even remember owing it. Next thing I know I was taken to court for a debt that is over XXXX XXXX XXXX I panicked in court because I felt intimidated and agreed to make payments on the debt that I was told I would get all the information on the debt which this company still has not provided. Ive paid over {$400.00} on the debt but my balance is still the same it never goes down and Ive made several attempts to contact the company but never can reach a person Ive left several messages but still do not get a response. Ive contacted them to ask for the proof I was told I would receive to prove its my debt and calls and messages go unresponsive. I have recently lost my job and contacted them and actually got a live person for once in my life and explained to them the whole situation that I never received the proof and my employment situation was then told my agent would be told and would be in touch now Im getting letters stating action will be taken for non payment even though I spoke to someone and explained my situation. Now I am feeling like this company is a scam because they never call me or send proof of the debt. I was told after so many years the debt can not be collected. They take my money but the debt amount is still the same after paying on this for 2 years. No one ever answers the phone and I feel this is a scam. I ask for answers and proof of this debt but dont get anywhere but I paid because I was afraid I would go to jail because I did agree to pay in court. This debt isnt even on my credit report so I am in desperate need to know what the next steps are for me I need answers and help to figure out if this company is even legit. Please help because I dont know what else to do.

Consumer Complaint: I have over {$100000.00} on deposit with CitiBank ( these funds are available ). I have had two checking and one savings accounts with them for over a year with over $ XXXX in funds from the accounts inception. I needed to complete a wire transfer today for a real estate closing and they will not allow me to access my funds. There is a message saying 'Access Blocked '. I've talked to no less than 15 people at their company today across all departments - fraud, security, and customer service departments ; I have also escalated to several managers. These people are in the XXXX and have nothing but a script to follow and can not and will not help. They have told me there is no access to anyone in the United States, for which I have repeatedly asked. They suggested I visit a branch, but there are no branches that I can find in Colorado. They suggested I try using XXXX - so I enrolled in XXXX with my Citibank account and sent {$5000.00} to my linked XXXX account ( which is the minimum Im allowed to send ). They blocked the transaction and locked me out of my account completely. I have gone through both standard and elevated authentication processes with multiple departments within Citibank multiple times today and have more than sufficiently authenticated myself. I am very upset that they will not allow me to access my own money, which will have a devastating personal impact on me since I will not be able to close on my new house for which Ive been saving for years. I am highly concerned and afraid that I will not be able to gain access to my funds. My stomach is in knots and I have been in tears all day over this. No one there will or can help. I believe something extremely concerning is occurring and beg the CFPB to look into this with immediacy.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I applied and was approved for the CitiBusiness / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite XXXX card. The card promised XXXX XXXX XXXX AAdvantage bonus miles after spending {$4000.00} in purchases within the first 4 months of account opening. I completed the spend during the second month of card membership, and was on track to receive the bonus at the time of the statement close. During XXXX ( the third month of card membership ), Citi closed my card suddenly, without any warning or communicating their intention, and without giving a proper reason. The closure letter stated that they detected behavior that was not consistent with how other customers use their cards. I only assume that were referring to multiple payments made to my credit card during my card membership. I had a perfect reason for these payments and in my view there was nothing that should have led to the account closure ( at least not before talking with me ). At the close of my most recent statement ( XXXX ), I was awarded some XXXX miles for the spending done during the last 30 days, but I was not awarded the XXXX points associated with completing the bonus offer requirements. I do believe that I am owed the {$65000.00} miles promised at the onset of the account opening, for which I met the promotion terms. The account was open and in good standing when the spending was completed and the terms were met. The payments were also made in full. Citi waits until the end of the statement close to award rewards, and they chose not to honor the promotion because they closed the account just before the statement closed. They did award the regular spend miles ( just over XXXX ) but not the promotion bonus. This is unfair and deceitful, and I feel taken advantage of. They've cost me my time, my spending, the opportunity cost of earning rewards with another credit card product, and of course they cost me a hit to my credit-worthiness.

Consumer Complaint: Signed up in branch with a banker regarding a business promotion offered in branch. Deposited {$25000.00} within 60 days of opening the account and kept the money in the account for 90 days as that is what the promotion stated. It is now XXXX months since opening the account and I have yet to receive my promotional bonus. I have reached out to the banker but received no response. My account was locked accidentally by CItibank and had to go in-branch to meet with a banker for XXXX hours to get it unlocked which the banker stated my bonus was indeed attached in XXXX. However, i am still unable to access my account as of today and they are telling me I need to go in-branch again.
