Consumer Complaint: On or around the summer of 2021 I opened a Home Depot credit card and project loan card. I purchased kitchen cabinets. I was offered 18 mos zero percent financing at the time. I made the purchase of the cabinets in XXXX of 2021 and after a few months of getting my bills I noticed it said six months for the expiration date of the offer. I realized something was wrong. I called both the store and the issuing bank of the card and told them I was supposed to get 18 months and I only got six. The bank changed it to the 18 month offer. I have no idea how this mistake occurred. About five months ago, I applied with the bank to see if I can get it extended. I realized that there was no way I was going to be able to pay off this purchase in 18 months. It is over {$9000.00} originally. I was denied. They told me I didn't qualify because I had already extended it. I said, no I did not. When? They were referring to the error, the six months to the 18 months. I said but that was an error. That was not an extension. I was supposed to get 18 months originally. Someone made a mistake. Period. Either the store, someone did. I know what I was offered and they for sure have 18 month plans. All the time. How could they even try to deny it? So, now, because of that original error, that went against me and I can't extend the terms.

I called XXXX XXXX 's credit card services and reported the fraud and had them cancel the credit card application. I asked the representative what address the credit card was opened under. That address was an address I lived at over 5 years ago, so I'm assuming they had opened mail for a credit card that was sent to that address and sent in the application. The XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX provided me with a reference number for my case, so they are already aware on their end.

The transaction according to them involved a real estate transaction in XXXX, an amount of {>= $1,000,000}. Looking through my bank records, that is an amount wired into my account after sales of my house on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA on XX/XX/XXXX, the property was initially purchased in XX/XX/XXXX! Citibank was satisfied with the explanation on XX/XX/XXXX and told me on multiple occasions account would be unblocked in 5-7 business days! As of today, my account is still frozen. Then maintain that balance from the 21st day of account opening for an additional 60 days. Then {$1000.00} bonus was to be paid. So if all that was met 81 days from the day of account opening bonus should have been paid I has been 90 days and I have not received my bonus as promised.

Consumer Complaint: I have a Sears " XXXX '' card from Citi Bank. They sent me an offer for XXXX bonus points for purchases from travel purchases provided I meet the minimum of {$750.00} spend in a month. I signed up for the offer and proceeded to use the card for hotels and rental cars to meet the required purchase amount before the end of XXXX. The problem is that in last two weeks I have stayed at two hotels, but Citi bank is showing no MCC ( merchant category code ) for these transactions. The first was a XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and the second at a XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Without these being classified as " lodging '' I will not receive any bonus points from the credit card company. In the past I have used a XXXX card from XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX for these same hotels ( same locations ) and these were classified correctly such that I received extra cash back on those transactions. I wrote to Citi Card and they said they have no control of the MCC codes used by merchants so my purchases will not count toward the promotional offer. However, when reading more about MCC codes they say they require these codes to prevent fraudulent transactions, yet they are accepting these transactions without any MCC code. It appears they are baiting customers to use the card with their offer then finding ways to avoid paying.
