Consumer Complaint: I have a couple accounts with Capital One that I have, One is a regular card and the other is with Cabelas. I never had issues with the credit cards and I actually really enjoy the perks and really prefer Capital One. During the time of the lates I was XXXX XXXX and didn't have anyone to help me while I was in and out of the hospital. I never intended to be late on the account but quite literally could not make those payments and I got current as soon as I could.

Consumer Complaint: I had a fraudulent activity on my Capital One Account on XX/XX/XXXX and the bank restricted all my accounts and now i have no access to withdraw cash or pay my bills while they investigate the matter. They wont give me an idea as to how long this would take and what options i have in the meantime. I am fine with them investigating the matter but at least i should be able to pay my bills out of my account. This puts me in a difficult situation and subjects me to fines, penlaties, cancellations of my accounts related to mortgage, rent, utilities, credit cards etc. I dont understand how the banks can take the customers accounts and hijack all the money and leave them with no options. This is completely wrong and should not be allowed. We as a customer have no rights when it comes to these things with the big banks.

Consumer Complaint: The company offers minors much lower savings account rates ( around 0.1 % to 0.3 % ) than adults ( up to 3.4 % ). Company representatives stated that minors can only be secondary account holders for higher yielding savings accounts and CDs, which would make the adult primary account holder responsible for tax on the minor 's income.

Consumer Complaint: Upon reviewing my credit report I saw that Capital One reported my balance increased by {$67.00} from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. NOW HERE IS THE IMPORTANT FACT : MY BALANCEON XX/XX/XXXX WAS THE SAME AS XX/XX/XXXX not {$67.00} HIGHER. Now they tried to explain I didn't make a payment in XXXX, that is right. I made it XX/XX/XXXX. The {$67.00} was the interest that accrued since I made the payment in XXXX. But the thing is : the balance at the end of XXXX was still the same or less than on XX/XX/XXXX. So why report that the account balance increased. HERE IS ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ANSWERED : THE BALANCE ON XX/XX/XXXX, DOES IT NOT INCLUXE THE ACCRUED INTEREST FOR THE MONTH OF XXXX? I BELIEVE IT DOES INCLUDE THAT INTEREST OR THE BALANCE WOULD BE LOWER AND NOT THE SAME. SO WHY REPORT TO THE CREDIT BUREAUS THAT THE TOTAL DEBT ACTUALLY INCREASED BY THE ACCRUED INTEREST. These types of shenanigans hurt a person 's credit file and are injurious when a person seeks credit. The creditor sees an increase instead of a decrease in the debtors record. Shame on capitol one! Over the last year I HAVE CLOSED MY CHECKING, SAVINGS, AND CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTS WITH THIS COMPANY. Once again : SHAME!

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: I have had a Capital One credit card since XXXX and since XX/XX/XXXX, I have paid every month on time with no incidence until last XX/XX/XXXX when Capitol One claimed that my payment was reversed. I called Capital One several times on this issue and each time they claimed that they did not activate the autopayment on the card to pull money from my bank but they did. My card has always remained locked and thus, no money could have been taken out to be reversed. Nevertheless, I paid XXXX through XXXX with the same amount I have paid for the last 2 years and more importantly, the amount the account suggested I pay, {$25.00}. XX/XX/XXXX, Capital One then increased the amount requiring me to pay {$130.00} and I was unable to afford it. Essentially, the issue is, based on the money I have paid to Capital One on this one account the card was paid off several times, but I do not have access to this card since XXXX. With each payment the amount I paid is not being reduced and I still do not have access to the account. Additionally, Capital One has reported to the credit bureau as being late although I paid on time and the amount the account suggested. I calculate the amount paid since XX/XX/XXXX is about {$1200.00} and this is way more than the balance and the limit of the card.

Consumer Complaint: I booked a flight on Capital One Travel Portal using my Capital One VentureX credit card in XXXX on XXXX XXXX for XXXX XXXX The tickets were booked on XXXX/XXXX/2022 and had to be cancelled on XXXX/XXXX/2022 due to my gf getting XXXX. At this point, the Capital One Travel Portal said I got a credit for XXXX XXXX Currently, I am trying to rebook the flight using my credits in their portal. The portal clearly states that I have a credit of XXXX $ with following information listed as banner on booking site. " Your travel credit is worth US {$230.00}. There are no rebooking fees for this trip. '' Please note that it clearly states that there are no rebooking fees. Once I selected the flight, the fare on selected flight was XXXX $ over the flight ticket price on XXXX and other portals where I can purchase the ticket. I called the customer care to price match the fare, since that's one of the benefits of Capital One Travel Portal. However, I was refused to price match stating that the XXXX $ is actually rebooking fees for using my travel credit. I feel this is unfair and unethical approach in dealing with travel cancellation where informations are not shared upfront but adding hidden charges to the customer. Even while rebooking the ticket, at no place they state the XXXX $ rebooking fee instead have implicitly increased the cost of base fare on the XXXX XXXX. I am attaching the screen shots of my travel credit, portal banner where it says there is no rebooking fees, final price summary where base fare is XXXX $ over XXXX pricing. The customer care claimed this XXXX $ is rebooking fee. This is clearly unfair and unethical business practices using hidden fees and charging them as part of base fare
