Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I mobile deposited a paycheck to a new Capital One Bank account. I then called customer service to inquire about a hold the online system placed. I spoke to an individual who eventually called the issuing bank and verified the check was valid and the funds were available. I was told at that time that the hold would release the same day and the funds would become available. I waited until XX/XX/2023 and the funds were not available. I once again called Capital One Bank and was eventually transferred to a manager. The manager informed me the department that could release the hold was not in the office and i would need to call on XX/XX/2023 to speak to someone in that department. I asked the manager at that time if the department would be open on a holiday and was told yes they would. I called the direct number on XX/XX/2023 and the recording stated they were not open. I immediately called the customer service department and eventually spoke to a manager who repeatedly refused to provide any assistance and eventually hung up the call.

Consumer Complaint: I have had my capital one credit card for 7 years and recently the account was compromised due to identity theft. when I contacted Capital one they recommended as a security measure blocking online access of the account. Every time I contacted capital one the fraudster would call them call back to undo what I did. The individual who stole my Identity was able to have the credit card reissued and I do not know the new account number. As a last security measure I had to close the account to protect myself. I reached out to capital one to regain access to the online portal and they several times had me scan my ID and SSN card when they got it back they kept claiming that it is blurry and they can not unlock my online account. when I asked to receive statements they refuse to send them to me and told me that I can pay by phone. I advised them that it is my right to see the statement of charges before I make any payment. Yet the creditor refuses to mail statement to my home address that I have lived at for almost 2 years. Meanwhile the account continues to accrue interest and late charges.
