I am writing this letter to serve as a form of documented times that I have had to send written disputes request to this company, which this will be the third time. Per the law, when a company is not able to validate a debt bearing ones signature, as per FTC opinion letter from Attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX a printout of a bill or itemized document does not constitute verification ; it is to be completely deleted off of all three credit reports, or it serves as harassment and a form defamation. Consumer Complaint: On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX I found out that I am a victim of Identity Theft and an Unsecured Personal Loan in the amount of {$35000.00} was issued by Barclay Bank to the thief. I also found out that a XXXX Checking Account was opened in my name and the {$35000.00} went into this account. I've made numerous calls to the Barclay Bank Security Division at XXXX -- XXXX and spoke with the investigator XXXX. XXXX told me time and time again that she can not share information with me in regards to where the account was opened. I confirmed with her all of my information is correct on the loan application ( SS #, DOB, Address, Drivers Lic. # ) except the email address and my place of employment. The email address used on the application is not my email address, but XXXX said she could not tell me the email address. She did tell me the employer used is " XXXX XXXX '' which is wrong. I've tried to get other information but I've been told time and time again that it is under investigation, I have to be patient. I spoke with XXXX on Friday XX/XX/XXXX and she became very irrate with me, told me not to call her anymore, she is not giving me any more information, that the XXXX Police Detective assigned to my case # XXXX needs to get a subpoena for the information. The XXXX Detective spoke with XXXX, told her that this is a fraud investigation and she needs to give the information and again she told him to obtain court documents. Today Saturday XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from XXXX in regards to me putting a Fraud alert on my SS # and this letter clearly states the following : " You have the right to obtain documents relating to fraudulent transactions made or accounts opened using your personal information. A creditor or other business must give you copies of applications and other business records relating to transactions and accounts that resulted from the theft of your identity, if you ask for them in writing '' NOT once did any of the Security Fraud Associates that I or my wife spoke with or XXXX at Barclay Bank explain to me if I submitted a request in writing for this information they would give it to me. Clearly, under the law ( which I have been saying over and over again ) I am entitled to all the information used to obtain this XXXX $ FRAUDULENT PERSONAL LOAN that was approved ONLINE with no face to face interaction. I will be calling XXXX at Barclay Bank on Monday XX/XX/XXXX to get an address, email address, fax # so I can submit a request in writing for all the information regarding this Fraudulent Personal Loan.

Consumer Complaint: Since XX/XX/2018, XXXX XXXX has been charging both our credit cards from Barclays and XXXX XXXX. However, we never used our credit cards at our local XXXX store but if any, we used cash or our XXXX debit card. There have been unauthorized charges going on for over a year which we only caught recently as they were small purchase amounts. However, this kept occurring even with cards reported as lost. Even with the new numbers XXXX was able to charge us. One charge occurred miles away from where I was sitting at dinner with friends and in possession of the card. At first, Barclays and XXXX XXXX did investigate and determine that those were fraudulent charges but since then they claim since it was used with chip cards, those charges must have been legitimate and basically tell us, the customer, that we are lying. We are outraged since theres no protection against the fraud and wrongful accusations.

Consumer Complaint: Barclay Bank Card has systematically lowered my credit limit causing my debt to available credit limit to raise. Thereby causing my credit score to be lowered duty what appears to be over the limit charging. I contacted Barclay Bank who transferred me to their debt risk contractor. I explained to the contractor that although my accounts outside of Barclay were indeed carrying high balances. I have never missed a payment to Barclay ; nor any of my other creditors. Barclay has continued the lower my credit limit actions without my never missing a payment.

Consumer Complaint: On Friday XX/XX/2018 I noticed I had lost my Barclays Credit credit card, when I logged in to check for any activity there was fraudulent charge in the amount of {$3500.00}. I proceeded to call Barclays to notify them of what had happened so they cancelled that credit card, issued me a new one and opened a fraud investigation for the amount of {$3500.00}. On Wednesday XX/XX/2018, I get a call from Barclays fraud department indicating they have concluded the investigation and all the information they have align to the charge being legit and they verified it was me. As you can understand my outrage, how can they have verified it was me, when it was not. What has this company done to protect my interest as a consumer? They are in turn, falsely accusing me and holding me accountable for fraud activity on my card instead of protecting my interest. Now I went online and notice my credit limit of {$10000.00} has been reduced to {$4000.00} when I have been a client of Barclays for many years, never been late, paid off credit card a few times. i also hold many credit with high available credits of more than {$20000.00} such as XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, etc yet they have no problems with me nor have reduced my available credit card.

Consumer Complaint: So on XX/XX/19 ... without any notice or warning or just simple courtesy, my credit card company decreased the credit limits on my 2 cards. One went from XXXX to XXXX and the other went from XXXX to XXXX. I have never missed a payment in 3 years. In fact, I just made a XXXX dollar payment the previous month. I have fought to get my credit back up, and now they are saying I owe too much money with other cards, even though my credit utilization is at 31 % ... the best it's been in awhile because I'm working on it. It was over 40 % ... Now my credit utilization is going to increase significantly with the limit decreases. In fact, I have never missed a payment on any credit card or loan, I pay my rent on time every month ... and now I'm not credit worthy? I tried to call and talk to them and they said there is nothing they will do for me short of me paying off most of my outstanding debts to other companies..which I have been working on ... which is why my utilization has been decreasing. I have been paying on time and consistently to every merchant. This is going to cripple me and bring my credit score back to where I started. I have never heard of a credit card decreasing your limit without a single missed payment.

Issue: Getting a credit card

Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I learned a credit account had been opened in my name at Barclays Bank. The card had an outstanding balance of {$15000.00}. I called Barclays Bank to notify them of the fraudulent account and was told they would investigate. I completed an Identity Theft Report at the Federal Trade Commission website. I printed the report, sent it to Barclays along with a letter requesting the account be closed and reported as fraudulent to the credit bureaus. I froze my credit report at all 3 credit bureaus and mailed them the identity theft report along with a request the account be removed from my credit report. On XX/XX/2019 I filed a incident report at my local police precinct and a police report was issued. I faxed the police report to Barclays on XX/XX/2019, then followed up with a phone to Barclays on XX/XX/2019. When I called I gave the representative the name and contact information for the Detective assigned to the case. As a result of the Detective 's investigation an arrest warrant was issued, an arrest made, and a guilty plea entered in court. The guilty plea was entered on XX/XX/2019. On XX/XX/2019, Barclays called me to inform me they had completed their investigation and determined the account was valid. On XX/XX/2019, I faxed additional documentation to Barclays, including a letter for the US District Attorney 's office documenting the guilty plea on the charge of credit card fraud. On XX/XX/2019, I called Barclays to follow up, according to the representative, the documentation faxed XX/XX/2019 had not been reviewed, but would be forwarded to the investigations team. The account remains under review. Over the last 3 months, I have received 2 letters from Barclays stating their investigation was complete and the account is valid. I have spoken with multiple representative who claim that purchases made with the card, including groceries, were household items and therefore I am responsible for the account. Every time I call Barclays, I am place on hold multiple times, transferred at least twice or asked to call back at another number. When I call, I never speak to the same representative more than once.
