Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to XXXX via telephone to request paperwork to extend my deferment. I was told that I would receive it via email. It never came ( and I did check my Spam folder multiple times ). I reached out again XX/XX/XXXX and again was told they would send it via email - it never came. I called again in XX/XX/XXXX and the representative let me know that I could request the extension online. I immediately completed the request online and it was processed to be in effect retroactively. I am now in the process of purchasing a new home and discovered that only has my credit score taken a hit hit, but I have 6 late payments on my credit record. I've contacted FedLoan multiple times in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and this will not assist me in clearing up my credit report. They have informed me that even though the deferment was applied retroactively, the payments are still considered late. This makes no sense as per the deferment there were no payments due. They are rude and extremely unhelpful on the phone. I am about to lose a lot of money and a custom built home because of this. As someone who has an excellent payment records on all my other accounts, this is extremely distressing to me and very unfair. I have filed a formal dispute with them, but based on my phone calls with them, I don't have high hopes that they will do the right thing and correct my report.

Issue: Getting a loan
Subissue: Fraudulent loan
Consumer Complaint: Since XX/XX/XXXX, National Collegiate XXXX XXXX has been pursuing a case about a student loan they said I owe. Over time I have asked them to submit the proof and nothing has been done. Since XX/XX/XXXX, they called and harassed me by phone and mail. I put in a cease and decease letter and they finally stopped and pursued a court case against me. I have submitted letter after letter to the law office and to the court. I have gone has far as sending the published legal case against this company but it has been ignored. I am reaching out because I need legal assistance with this matter but do not have the financial funds for a lawyer. I need to know how do I get help with this matter. The legal tea for NCT has now submitted this interrogatories questionnaire that I do not feel that I need to fill out because it would only be used against me in court. My court hearing is XX/XX/XXXX. I also researched that I had a loan with AES but when I filed for Chapter XXXX bankruptcy, AES cleared by debt entirely and NCT was the holder for them and still they are pursuing this loan. I need assistance with this case as soon as possible. I have attached all the documents I have regarding this case.

Consumer Complaint: My student loans were in default. Last tax year XXXX, IRS garnished all {$9000.00} of my tax return to pay on this loan. This past XXXX tax year, IRS took the remaining {$4000.00} to finish paying the loan off. As of today, this account still shows that it is a collection! It is not, it is paid in full and should be saying so. It is hurting my credit report extremely negatively when I try to get new credit. This needs to show that all of the loan accounts are paid in full and needs to get off of my credit! ASAP. This is ridiculous, it's been over a year since payments have been applied!

Consumer Complaint: I inadvertently re-certified my income too soon and the information provided was from my XXXX tax return. When I realized this had happened, I sent the information from my XXXX tax return. They were quick to process the high income error, but have refused to timely process the information with my actual income. I make significantly less money now and as of this moment, I am self- employed and struggling. I called back in XXXX and was told that I need to submit additional documentation, so I uploaded my pay stubs as requested. I no longer work there and the payment calculations are incorrect and I can not afford it. I went back in and submitted my XXXX tax return information via the IRS retrieval tool in XXXX. My payment still hasn't been re-calculated. I submitted this information yet again and it's still being processed. I can not afford these payments. I have submitted the documents multiple times electronically and they are just sitting on them. It's funny because XXXX has already processed the same requests as XXXX because they were sent everything automatically at the same time. I want this resolved now. This is totally unacceptable and I am seriously considering legal action.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I called regarding myXX/XX/XXXX loan payment because my loan forgiveness eligibility was approved. I inquired about another income based payment that would keep me eligible for the Public Loan Forgiveness Program ( PLFP ), but would allow me to make lower monthly payments. I was told about another income based program that would lower my monthly payment. Once I verified that I would still be eligible under the same loan forgiveness program, I requested to switch. I was told once I was deemed eligible, I would have to make a {$5.00} payment on the exact date, so that month would go towards my 120 month payment requirement. Today, the took the payment ( over {$850.00} ) out of my account under the plan I am trying to change. I called and I was told the {$5.00} fee applies to next month ( XX/XX/XXXX ) not this month. I explained that is not what I was told. They offered to refund the money ; however, it would look like I didnt make a payment towards my 120 month payment requirement. I dont understand why I would be eligible for one income based program and not the other. Additionally, I am being penalized for their mistake and their inability to process my request in a timely manner. I am also writing this complaint just in case at a later date they tell me I am ineligible for the PLFP because I switched payment plans. I made sure I asked about it several times. Unfortunately, I can not trust XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: After four unsolicited " transfer or sold '' servicers of my student loans, I have been with FedLoan since XXXX of XXXX. I have been working toward the PSLF program having submitted my first employer verification form in XXXX of XXXX, another on XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. I have worked for the same agency 18+ years. I first contacted Fedloan in XXXX of XXXX asking about my " qualifying payments ''. They responded that I had 11 qualifying payments. I then made at least 4 email inquiries asking them what form of proof I needed to submit to prove additional payments had been made and under the correct plan. I then contacted them in XXXX of XXXX, and was told my payments were still at 11. I contacted them in writing again in XXXX of XXXX and received a response from them in XXXX of XXXX saying I had 11 qualifying payments, after I had made at least 30 qualifying payments directly to them. I then spend endless hours reviewing an gathering my documents which proved qualifying payments. I once again requested an update on my qualifying payments and was told I had not re-certified my employment, which once again I had, but I resubmitted it. In early XXXX of XXXX I logged into U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, NATIONAL STUDENT LOAN DATA SYSTEM ( NSLDS ) and they reported that I had made 114 monthly payments made ( 114/120mo ) 95 % toward my PSLF. I contacted them again and asked how to get this corrected. they told me that the NSLDS was incorrect, and that only Fedloan could decide my qualifying payments, and it could take 3-6 months to do so. I once again asked who could receive my proof of payments and they said they did not need them as they had all of the history on my student loans. They then failed to process my IBRP paperwork that was sent on XX/XX/XXXX, so my payment jumped to XXXX a month which caused me overdrafts at my bank, and for ht first time on years for my loan payment to be late. I got that resolved an returned to my auto pay, Today I checked to see what they had for " qualifying payments '' and it said 71. I then logged innto the exact same U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, NATIONAL STUDENT LOAN DATA SYSTEM ( NSLDS ) and found they had changed my qualifying payments to 71 as well, in addition to other information on the report being changed. I have every document needed to prove payments were made that far exceed the 71 I am currently being credited with including credit bureau records. I could produce all email contacts and proof of my inquiries since XXXX. I can not begin to count the hours I have spent trying to resolve this discrepancy. I am now over the 120 payments and will need to continue to make payments to protect my credit. This is illegal in every way, but allowed because no one is in charge.

Consumer Complaint: I am with fedloans and somehow 2 of my loans went delinquent even though I am on IBR and my amount is $ 0 monthly ( 2 loans stayed active and 2 went in default ). It resulted in my tax refund getting taken {$6200.00}!! I needed that money for my 2 little kids and we are so behind on bills now. When I found out, I consolidated the loans back to IBR and {$0.00} repayment but they put the entire {$6200.00} on the loan even though it wasnt defaulted anymore and the offset was removed.

Consumer Complaint: This is regarding the Fed Loan DEPT. I have new proof that they were not suppose to get my new servicer, XXXX XXXX to add in any direct plus loans from my daughter 's college, XXXX College XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in with my consolidation loan I did with XXXX XXXX. I received an email from the " Borrower Defense Refuns Cancellation DEPT '' that if I requested the loans for this college to be put on freeze, this is allowed until the investigation against this school for frauding loans, allegelly, has been determined. I have contacted XXXX XXXX to change the online consolidation back to remove al of the loans from XXXX College or I will cancel it ... This isi my right as the consolidator applicant. I will provide proof from this dept. Also, the Fed Loan dept. responded to my letter that they had already frozen the loans due to them being under investigation. I never spoke with them about having problems with these loans in regards to needing help with payments! It was about why so many were requested only! Also, if you review the total expenses of the college during my daughter 's one year enrollment which was from XX/XX/2017 to XX/XX/2017, review the copies of her financial aid summary that I provide, ( not from the financial aid office since you may not be able to trust unless you comopare their statements with mines ... ), you can clearly see, she had enough financial aid form grants, scholarships, Stafford loans not to need the amount I am now showing that the school borrowed & are trying to make me repay by sneaking them on my credit report & in my consolidation! Some nerve! It is clear that the amount of the tuition & other expenses deducted by the financial total amount she had doesn't equal the amount of loans they got which is {$130000.00} in direct plus loans which exceeds the {$55000.00} limit of this kind of loan anyway! No way they can not be found with no fraudulance. Even the amount of the loan only has a {$55000.00} limit. Please, tak note of this. Thank you Miss XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I was looking to consolidate my student loans all into one company and upon trying to complete the application for consolidating I was shocked at how much I still, after 10 years of paying, owe on my loans. When I questioned my father who had completed all the applications he was equally as shocked. When I investigated further I asked my school for an account summary of everything that came into and out of my account, which they provided quickly. I noticed very easily that there were two loans specifically that were not there on this account summary. I called AES and they sent me the credit agreements. The loans were there on those agreements but not on my account? AES told me the disbursement was made to the school. The school says they never received and the disbursement was made directly to my father. My father states that he has never had that kind of money ever. And further more, why if he had received that disbursement would he have used his credit card to pay the school. I have submitted to receive his bank statements from the months that these disbursements supposedly took place. Every time I ask AES for anything its a 7-10 business day wait for their response. This is wrong given that they've collected principal and interest from almost {$20000.00} for over 10 years.
