Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I submitted my first set of paperwork for verification of loan payments in XX/XX/XXXX. At this point my loan servicer was changed from XXXX ( had been others ) to FedLoans. As of XX/XX/XXXX Fedloans has still not been able to verify any of my SIX years of loan payments. I have called innumerable times and every time I call they tell me that they don't know when they will be able to verify my past six years of payments. I have made every payment on time and by the book so it is extremely troubling and anxiety provoking that after 2 years of being with Fedloans they are still giving me the run around and can not verify these payments.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2018, I had filed my initial XXXX complaint because, among other things, the Fedloan Service had incorrectly capitalized the interest on my account due to a processing error. After my complaint, I had received notice that on XX/XX/2018, a request was submitted to reverse the incorrect interest capitalizations. However, 15 months later, there has been NO progress on this. I have called approximately 5 times, each time a representative has confirmed that no progress has been made and that they will " make a note '' to reverse the incorrect capitalizations. I last spoke with a representative named XXXX ( ext XXXX ) though I believe there is no plan to actually correct the process error.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I uploaded my tax information ( 1040 ) in the FedLoan Servicing portal as part of my Income-Driven Repayment Plan 's annual recertification. I was told ( I believe on XX/XX/XXXX ) that my recertification was denied because I did not provide the correct information. I reapplied by sending in my pay stubs, but this too was denied. On XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I called and spoke to two different customer service reps for Fed Loan Servicing. Both confirmed Fed Loan Servicing has my 1040. The woman I spoke to on the XXXX even looked at them with me. We found that whomever was reviewing my case simply was not scrolling down far enough in the document to get to my 1040 ( verifiable by phone recording ). I was denied again on XX/XX/XXXX. I called again on XX/XX/XXXX and we went through the same thing where the customer service rep looked at the file with me and found that whomever was looking at the file simply did not scroll down far enough to see my 1040 and my gross income. I asked if there as anything I should have done differently and the rep told me no, I have done everything I'm supposed to do correctly.

Consumer Complaint: This complaint is in combination with complaint # XXXX submitted on XX/XX/19. American Education Services continues to demand payment of these student loans, completely violating the automatic stay from my Son 's bankruptcy. Attached is another letter we received from them now demanding payment from co-signer. Something needs to happen to stop the servicer. They continue to persist in the communication even though we have provided them information on the bankruptcy and the previous complaint I filed with CFPB. I am now going to ask the Bankruptcy Trustee to fine this company for the continuous violation of the bankruptcy law.

Consumer Complaint: Attention SERVICE RECOVERY TEAM XXXX XXXX XXXX PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM ADDING INFORMATION TO COMPLAINT ID XXXX SUBMITTED ON XX/XX/XXXX I MADE A PHONE CALL TO FED LOAN SERVICING PHONE ON XX/XX/XXXX, AND SPOKE TO XXXX, ID XXXX She informed me of my : Pay off age : XXXX yrs old Pay off amount : {XXXX0}, XXXX would not lose years paid into income based repayment plan prior. ( 6 years paid to XXXX would roll over to this plan ) General information to consider : I've made 13 years of loan payments total ... I paid $ XXXX month for 5 years ( XXXX ) before income based plan with XXXX XXXX XXXX I left XXXX in XXXX to seek a company that practiced ethics, which I thought was Fed Loan Servicing. In XXXX when I was applying for the loan, with Fed Loan Servicing I was told I would receive credit for the years I was on the income based plan prior Fed Loan Servicing by the person fed loan servicing gave that responsibility to. ( XXXX, ID XXXX ) Now Im being told that I lost the 6 years that I paid into the income based plan because of the loan consolidation, which will cost me {$28000.00}. I chose Fed Loan Servicing because XXXX was not forthright in sending me a complete break down of my loan payments until I filed a formal complaint with Consumer Finance Protection, which took nearly year to resolve. No actual prospective payoff dates are given with the way the system is set up now, since borrowers must reapply for income based plans annually. Adding six years of payments to my existing program puts me into my mid 80s to complete this loan. ( a 35 year loan, with interest. Loan forgiveness plans are confusing and the borrows are told conflicting information concerning payments. I was told on two accounts that I must consolidate my loans in order to qualify. This results in large systemic ethical lapses, and consumers like myself are forced to be very proactive in rectifying poor lending practices, and lack of information given.

Consumer Complaint: I was approved for IDR plan today XX/XX/2019 ; however I received two confirmations with conflicting messages. In an email, which I will include in this complaint, states that I now have a monthly payment of {$0.00} which I need to recertify annually. This is fair and makes sense. I then received a Pdf attachment from a secure email, stating that i have a monthly payment of {$260.00} due on XX/XX/2019. What plan am I on? If I have no income, why am I now owing {$260.00}? Please help sort out this confusion.
