Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I reported Suntrust to CFPB a few weeks ago for invading my privacy by sending strangers to my home for no reason. The complaint ID for my complaint is XXXX. The response was laced with misinformation and flat-out lies. I also wanted a response as to why SunTrust decided to only grant XXXX months of forbearance when I requested 6 months. As such, I sent several emails to the rep that responded to the CFPB 's complaint, called SunTrust, and requested to speak with the person who is tasked with managing my account during forbearance. However, I am yet to receive a response from either one of them. I contacted the bank again a few days ago after receiving a statement that shows {$12000.00} due by XX/XX/XXXX XXXX see attached statement ). On this statement, you will also see several {$20.00} charges ( the rep stated she was going to address this in her response to my previous complaint ) for " home inspection. '' My monthly mortgage payment is XXXX. I have not paid since XX/XX/2021. Therefore XXXX XXXX = {$11000.00}. According to the Cares Act, no additional fees are supposed to be assessed against a loan that is in forbearance. To date, no one is willing to speak to me to address this issue. What is the reason for the additional {$1600.00}? In her response to the complaint ( XXXX ), the agent stated no one should be coming to my home since the account is in forbearance. Why are they still coming every month? In my previous complaint, I asked SunTrust to cease and desist ( even delinquent accounts that are not in forbearance can ask banks to cease and desist in-person visits ) but this has done nothing to stop SunTrust from sending people to my home, peeping in, taking pictures through the blinds, and walking around my home. At XXXX this morning, XX/XX/2021, Suntrust sent yet another agent to my home, peeping in and taking pictures through the opened blinds, walking around the home, taking pictures of the mailbox, and leaving an " urgent notice '' on my front door. My cease and desist was ignored by SunTrust. In summary, SunTrust has ignored my cease and desist request and refused to address concerns that I have regarding unauthorized fees on my account.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX Suntrust withdrew XXXX without notification this made my account to be overdrawn. I was told they send me a letter stating they have placed this amount into my account 30 days prior for CO-VID relief and that in 30 days they would retrieve this amount. If I would have been notified I would have never accepted this amount. This amount was placed in my account without my knowledge. I ask Suntrust to give me copies of letter/emails has they told me they had send me and as of today 's date no copy of correspondence as been given to me. I have spoke to two supervisors On XXXX and was told nothing could be done. I called Atty General office XXXX XXXX was told to write it and send it in band call Consumer Finance spoke with XXXX and she advised the steps I needed to take. On XXXX I went in person to the branch to speak with a branch manager and was told an open investigation was open and I would be getting an answer via the correspondence of the emails/letter I was requesting of how the money was deposited and was going to be taken away from my account. The lady that help me by the name of XXXX XXXX. She was very unpleasant stating to me how can a person live without checking a bank statement. I told her I was not there for scolding me if I check bank statement or not I was I was there for the simple reason why and where was the correspondence allowing them to retrieve XXXX which was going to put my checking account overdrawn and they are going to get a lot of overdraft fees that I did not myself did and this was a scam for them to take all my money something that I did not do. As of today XXXX already my SunTrust account is XXXX overdrawn for not having the funds into my account. Money they took out without my knowledge without my consent and this is how the banks live of poor people with overdraft fees not made by me but by them. It was not nice for them to placed money on an account that was not overdrawn and by themselves made this account overdrawn to make overdrawn fees to take my money to pay SunTrust. To say they are helping people for COVID. If you notice Suntrust stated my account was overdrawn in the thirty days my account was never overdrawn.

Consumer Complaint: SunTrust opened a bank account in my name in XX/XX/XXXX which has been determined to be fraud. However, the inquiry is STILL ON MY REPORT as LightStream and has NOT been removed. SunTrust Bank ( SunTrust ) merged with Branch Banking and Trust Company, a North Carolina banking corporation ( BB & T ) and the combined bank is now known as Truist Bank ( Truist ). LightStream is a division of Truist. I have asked XXXX to remove it, SunTrust has promised me that they would remove ANY reporting, but as of today XX/XX/XXXX, the inquiry is still there. I did not authorize it and I want it removed immediately or a financial penalty invoked. This is nearly 6 months later and the inquiry is still present. It took SunTrust several weeks to close the fraudulent account and STOP sending me statements as if I actually opened the account!

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was already discharged in bankruptcy and is no longer owed
Consumer Complaint: I filed for chapter XXXX bankruptcy on around XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX. SunTrust Bank was included in my filing. My bankruptcy was discharged on XX/XX/XXXX. I have not heard from SunTrust Bank since then. Today XX/XX/XXXX, while in the process of selling my house i was informed that SunTrust Bank had a judgement on my property from XX/XX/XXXX. I did not own this property until XX/XX/XXXX and SunTrust Bank was included and discharged in my bankruptcy in XX/XX/XXXX. Why 20 years later have they placed a judgment on a property that I didn't own until 10 years later. At no time when i purchased this house did an issue with SunTrust Bank arise so all of this coming up out of the blue is pretty shocking and concerning. Per my discharge documents, " The discharge prohibits an attempt to collect from the debtor a debt that has been discharged. For example, a creditor is not permitted to contact a debtor by mail, phone, or otherwise, to file or continue a lawsuit, to attach wages or other property, or to take any other action to collect a discharged debt from the debtor. A creditor who violates this order can be required to pay damages and attorney 's fees to the debtor. '' This is a clear violation that SunTrust Bank is to collect by placing a judgement on my property 10-20 years after it was discharged in a chapter XXXX bankruptcy.
