Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: I have already sent a letter addressing the inaccuracies and unknown items on my credit report, but unfortunately, I have not received any response even after 30 days. It feels like I'm being taken advantage of and my disputes are being ignored. According to Section 611 ( a ), if these items are not investigated within 30 days, they should be promptly removed from my credit report. Since it has been over 30 days, I expect these accounts to be updated immediately. If not, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action due to the stress this situation has caused me. Additionally, my information was also affected by the XXXX, XXXX, and Transunion data breach, which raises concerns about the security of my personal data.

Consumer Complaint: Subject : Comprehensive Complaint Against TransUnion for XXXX Violations of FCRA and Demand for Immediate Rectification Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to demand swift and decisive action against TransUnion for their willful and systematic contravention of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Their conduct amounts to what can only be described as an " Unfair Credit Reporting Act '' ( XXXX ), a perverse rendition of a system that has wreaked havoc on my financial standing and undermined the integrity of fair credit reporting. Enclosed herein is a list of inaccurately reported accounts, with their respective numbers, that TransUnion has failed to handle with the due diligence required by law : XXXX XXXX Credit Card, Account # XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Account # XXXXXXXX XXXX Credit Card, Account # XXXXXXXX XXXX Secured Credit Card, Account # XXXXXXXX XXXX Partially Secured, Account # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Collection, Account # XXXX Despite my earnest attempt to rectify my credit, evidenced by a detailed dispute letter sent on XX/XX/year>, TransUnion responded with patronizing applause, yet curiously insinuated that the dispute was not authored by me. This baseless assumption conveniently excused them from providing the proofs I requested. Nevertheless, they proceeded to dispute the XXXX account, closed it, and then, in a bewildering turn of events, reopened it, dealing a -71 point blow to my credit score. The same cavalier approach was taken with my XXXX XXXX account. No dispute was expected, yet they took it upon themselves to verify it and annotate 'consumer disagrees, ' demonstrating blatant disregard for my rights under the FCRA XXXX This is not mere negligence ; it is a pattern of punitive actions that flout the protections intended to safeguard consumers. This treatment is a flagrant violation of the following FCRA provisions : 15 U.S.C. 1681i : TransUnion 's failure to conduct a proper reinvestigation within the statutory 30-day window. 15 U.S.C. 1681a : Their reporting of information they should know to be inaccurate. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 : Negligence in failing to correct or delete unverified information upon a consumer 's dispute. TransUnion 's actionsor lack thereofhave not only resulted in the direct and material detriment to my creditworthiness but have also profoundly impeded my entrepreneurial aspirations and pursuit of financial stability. I hereby demand the immediate removal of all disputed accounts due to TransUnion 's breach of the FCRA. Failure to comply should result in severe penalties, including but not limited to, punitive damages for the willful neglect that has characterized their responses to my disputes. The time for accountability is now. I urge the CFPB to act with the authority vested in them and deliver justice for the years of unwarranted hardship that TransUnion 's XXXX has imposed on me. I await your prompt and corrective response. Sincerely, XXXX Enclosures : Evidence of Discrepancies, Documentation of Financial Harm, Certified Mail Receipt

Consumer Complaint: Transunion is reporting accounts on my consumer profile due to an alleged identity theft. These accounts involve transactions unrelated to me, and I did not derive any benefit from them. I've provided Transunion with written correspondence, including proof of my identity, an identity theft report, identification of the relevant information, and a statement, as legally mandated. They are obligated to block and remove these accounts within four business days of receiving my notice.

Consumer Complaint: My credit report is littered with negative items. I have attempted to call and REPEATEDLY write XXXX, XXXX, Transunion, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX requesting that each of these private companies remove the numerus and violations of my privacy, as well as infringement on my rights of liberty and enjoyment for the better part of a year. These derogatory items have negatively and grossly impacted my life, causing me to be denied apartment rentals, denied consumer credit cards and other lines of credit. At no point have I EVER given any secondary or third party reporting agencies written permission to add these unfounded derogatory items to my report. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681 section 602 a, " there is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. '' XXXX and XXXX are consumer reporting agencies and I am the Consumer. I have the right to make sure my private information isn't shared which, by the way is backed by 15 USC 6801 which also states that " It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic personal information. '' XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are all financial institutions by definition under that title. Additionally, 15 USC 1681 section 604 a section 2 states that " In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. '' XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are the financial institutions and the Consumer reporting agencies, specifically Transunion, XXXX and XXXX DO NOT have my consent to furnish this information and they most certainly do not have my expressed written consent. Any and all consent to Transunion, XXXX and XXXX, ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) whether it be verbal, non-verbal, written, implied or otherwise is revoked. Furthermore, according to 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ), " a financial institution may not disclose nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party unless, the consumer is given an explanation of how the consumer can exercise that nondisclosure option. 'XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at no point was I informed by any of these bureaus ( Transunion, XXXX nor XXXX ) of my right to exercise my nondisclosure option. Additionally, per 15 USC 1681c ( a ) ( 5 ), " except as authorized under subsection ( b ), no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information : Any other adverse item of information, other than records of convictions of crimes which antedates the report by more than seven years. '' These numerous, fraudulent and derogatory accounts on each of these credit bureau, consumer credit reports are clearly adverse items that are reported and once more, the bureaus are reporting them without my permission which is a violation of the law and several of my rights. Furthermore, 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( a ) ( 1 ) a states that a person " shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. Also, 15 U.S. Code 1681e states that " every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to avoid violations of, section 1681c of this title and to limit the furnishing of consumer reports for the purposes listed under section 1681b of this title. Transunion, XXXX and XXXX are clearly not maintaining reasonable procedures. Also 12 CFR 1016.7 states that " A consumer may exercise the right to opt out at any time. I am definitely opting out of your reporting services.
