Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for an extension of credit with CareCredit for a CareCredit card issued by Synchrony Bank and a few days later I received an adverse action letter stating I was denied. I am not attempting to be troublesome nor am I outright disagreeing with your companys decision. I would just like to know what laws or procedures were used to come to this determination. could you provide me with the exact subsection that was used? Can you also provide me with what part of the law says I have to abide by the credit score you choose to use, or that this transaction even needs to be reported. The cfpb states in XX/XX/XXXX Key Dimensions and Processes in the U.S. Credit Reporting System section 3.1.1 that credit reporting is voluntary and always has been which mean its not a determining factor so how are you judging based off of a voluntary system? company procedure does not supersede federal law. This is a direct violation of my rights of a consumer 15 usc 1602 ( f ) tells me credit is my right. I can not be denied a right. 15 usc 1602 ( p ) makes it clear that you committed fraud and used my credit card 15 usc 1602 ( l ) ( social security card ) without authority, and I received no benefit with no statute of limitation on fraud this claim is still valid. 15 usc 1691 ( a ) ( 3 ) makes it clear that I can not be discriminated against for exercising my rights. Now I would hate for this situation to escalate I am sure you are just doing your job but I am now holding Synchrony Bank criminally liable. I am willing to let all of this go does the right thing and reverses this decision thank you. Attached is the adverse action letter which serves as proof of the fraud youve committed and proof where the cfpb states credit reporting is optional.

Consumer Complaint: We settled this account with XXXX in XXXX of XXXX ( Letter attached ). We were just notified on XX/XX/XXXX that this account was re-called by Synchrony Bank and sent back. We've settled this account for {$1200.00}. {$980.00} has cleared and been applied to the settlement. However, payments for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX ( {$61.00} each ) have been shipped to XXXX because of the last notice of the recall and they've been re routed to Synchrony Bank. I called Synchrony Bank and was notified that the account had been sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX for collection. We've been told by Synchrony to reach out to XXXX XXXX XXXX so that they can help us honor the original settlement. However, I reach out to XXXX in XXXX of XXXX, they have the account. However, they make me wait until XX/XX/XXXX to tell me that they sent the account bank. This back and forth is ridiculous and should not have happened in the first place. We were paying a settlement without fail and then Synchrony pulls the account from the creditor we settled with? Totally unfair.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I reviewed a copy of my credit report and noticed the following information regarding inquiry below to be in error. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act states that the only permissible purpose for pulling a persons credit report is ( 1 ) a firm offer of credit, ( 2 ) insurance, ( 3 ) an application for employment, or ( 4 ) a court order. The following inquiry is not related to one of the allowable purposes, as I have reiterated from The Fair Credit Reporting Act. 1. PAYPAL SYNCBPAYPAL I reached out to Paypal who was not of any assistance to address this issue and directed me to contact the credit bureau to delete this inquiry from my credit report. I contacted XXXX to investigate and provide evidence that Paypal says that they have pulled my credit report with my permission, then I exercise my legal right to ask for verification, including : 1 ) Name and title of the person who pulled my credit. 2 ) Date they purport that I gave permission. 3 ) Method they purport that I gave permission. Please include documentation of said permission. XXXX sent a response explaining why the inquiry is on my credit report and didnt appear to investigate this matter at all.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I disputed Old Navy/Synchrony Bank account showing on my credit report paid and closed in XX/XX/XXXX. The account was paid in full over the phone in XXXX so I was disputing it because when I called the creditor to pay it I asked if I could pay it on the condition that it be requested by the creditor to be removed from my credit report. I have disputed this a few times. I called XXXX after my dispute was denied and they told me it was up to the creditor to request it, confirming what I thought. So I called the creditor and spoke with a couple people. They said they dont have any record of my call in XXXX asking for it to be removed. I asked them to listen to the recorded call and they told me they didnt have a call. This is unreasonable since they have record that it was paid and I paid it over the phone. They also told me because there were late payments they had to report it accurately and it could not be removed from reporting because of that. That this was up to the credit reporting agency. I called back the credit bureau XXXX and the gentleman told me thats not true. He said he has been able to remove even delinquent accounts with late payments as long as theyre paid. Contrary to what Synchrony bank told me, the credit bureau said it was done at the request of the creditor. This is not only misleading but its an obstacle to navigating credit reporting resolutions. In addition to the creditor falsely stating that paid accounts with late payments can not be removed according to the agreement made between the two parties, blaming this policy on credit reporting agencies and the failure of the creditor to keep records, the contact information provided to initially reach the creditor was also incorrect. I had to call 5 different XXXX numbers and get transferred multiple to these phone lines that were wrong numbers. Eventually I got the correct number which is XXXX. I was only able to get this number by calling an active synchrony account I have and being transferred. I know the CFPB works to help consumers and I am submitting this complaint because it shouldnt be so difficult to navigate to try and find a resolution. Creditors should not give misleading or false information about why a dispute was denied or what recourse should be taken.

Consumer Complaint: I had a Banana Republic credit card from Synchronicity bank with a {$500.00}. dollar credit limit. I had a balance of under {$200.00}. and attempted to pay my balance off by phone over 6 times. Then they closed my account after many late fees and interest and reported my account to the credit agencies. Now I am unable to get a Care Card for medical expenses due to their unfair practices. I was happy to pay the balance but have since charged off the account during the sars-cov2 pandemic. Thank you, XXXX XXXX
