Consumer Complaint: Resurgent had three collections accounts on its website in my name. I repeated disputed the accounts to no avail. I decided to settle the accounts clean up my credit reports and to move on with my life. The accounts are : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ... XXXX ) ; XXXX XXXX XXXX ( ... XXXX ) ; and XXXX XXXX XXXX ( ... XXXX XXXX Resurgent offered 85 % discounts on the first two account ( that i did not have to pay ) and 50 % discount on the third account ( that I did not have to pay ). ALL THREE PAYMENTS WERE TO BE COMPLETELY DELETED FROM MY CREDIT CREDIT REPORTS. Yesterday, Resurgent sent me letters saying that I still owed balances on the three accounts that I had already settled for IN FULL. Attached is the letter sent after I paid the third account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ... XXXX ) for {$500.00} in which Resurgent stated clearly that it will contact the credit bureaus to DELETE the tradeline associated with the account.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing.
