Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt

Consumer Complaint: Last month I pulled my credit report because I am in the process of purchasing a house and I noticed that National Credit Systems ( XXXX XXXX ) reappeared on my reports in the amount of {$80.00}. I previously disputed this erroneous debt and it was removed from my reports. I have not received any kind of correspondence, calls or emails from this company. I have not idea who these people are and why they are trying to collect from me. I have faxed over a Debt validation letter as well as filed a previous complaint through CFPB and nothing has been resolved.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2014 an account was opened in my name at an apartment complex named XXXX XXXX which left me with a collection that i do not owe nor have anu knowledge of on my credit report for the amount of {$450.00}. Since then i've filed a police report of identity theft and the apartment address was taken off my credit but the collection company refuses to take the collection off even after being told it was fraud and I was a victim of identity theft. I've filed an FTC report as well as disputed it with the credit bureaus numerous times and they still will not remove this collection from my credit.

Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged

Consumer Complaint: First contact from " collection agency '' Natrional Credit Systems, XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX was a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX. Letter stated they were collecting a debt for " The XXXX Apartments '' I did at one time live in The XXXX Apts., however I moved out on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, having paid rent through XX/XX/XXXX. Until I received the letter from National Credi there had been no contact made with me concerning any " debt ''. National Credit claims they are attempting to collect a debt in the amount of {$1800.00}. No explanation gives as to what the debt concerns?? Also, National Credit has already reported the debt to all three Credit Bureaus, without any previous contact with me to resolve the situation. I have also filed a complaint with the XXXX Atty. General regarding this " case ''. I have researched XXXX Credit Protection Laws and can find NO documentation that National Credit has filed a Surety Bond allowing them to do business in XXXX ...

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account information incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I have recently tried to file disputes with all 3 credit bureaus ( XXXX XXXX and XXXX ) because National Credit Systems who is a debt collector has reported to my credit and my husbands credit an account that does not belong to us. They are reporting that the original creditor is XXXX XXXX we have never signed a lease with XXXX XXXX or lived at XXXX XXXX XXXX. WE DEMAND If national Credit Systems does have proof of a contract to show it to you and you will see creditor name listed on it if we did sign a lease with their original creditor is not National Credit Systems. I want the collection account they are reporting to be removed because they are reporting inaccurate information.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt is not yours

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX office continues to communicate with me about a debt that they are trying to collect on after being told to cease communication with me since they are the second collector on this debt. National Credit Systems is also collecting on this debt ACTIVELY as noted before, per their response on XX/XX/2018 via the CFPB. Ive also asked numerous times for a MOVE IN statement which conviently they wont produce, as XXXX is well aware that their residences are filthy and they pend previous damage on unsuspecting tenants as lawsuits and reviews are public to expose. However, I will have my attorney in contact with all three parties to determine what is legally acceptable after reviewing. I do know as of XX/XX/2018, neither of your agencies are licensed and bonded and authorize to collect on debt in Ohio, which are required per state law, which puts you in violation. Thank You and XXXX Bless.

Issue: Communication tactics

Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls

Consumer Complaint: On Friday XX/XX/18, I contacted National Credit systems at XXXX, in reference to a debt that I owe to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX of {$150.00}. I spoke to a XXXX and I told her that I paid the debt directly to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX because the debt was just now showing on my credit report but it was not showing National Credit System. To make a long story short, after I said okay bye to the rep, she called me 4 times back to back and on the 4th call, I told her not to worry about it because I was going to contact my lawyer, she proceeds to tell me " Well if you wasn't acting like a XXXX little child, I could've told you some important information ''. The fact that the rep called me repeatedly back to back and then to tell me her opinion about me, was wrong and then on top of that, she didn't provide the Mini Miranda which by law you are required to do, she didn't verify my info not provided her info. I didn't say it was okay to call my cell and she didn't ask or provide the cell phone script, is a violation of FDCPA.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: National Credit System failed to informed me and provided valuable information about the debt they are claiming I owe. The source of the issue never been communicated to them, I am actually about to sue my leasing office for not informing me about the issue and issuing my information to NCS without sending me a formal letter. NCS failed to inform me of the situation and started reporting to credit bureau without even contacting me. No email, no certified mail was sent to me. I contacted them in several occasion to have them send me mails with clear explanation of the money thy said I owe them but never nobody ever sent me any explanation. They started reporting on me in XXXX without contacting and first time they contacted me was in end of XXXX. How can you send my information to credit bureau without even calling me and sending me certified mails to explain the situation? They started reporting on XX/XX/XXXX, 25 days after i left my old apartment and for the little story I provided them with proof I was leaving the place 3 months prior i left, and the first time they contacted me was XX/XX/XXXX, with no mail, no explanation of what is going on, i request several time for them to send me a mail with all explanations they never delivered. This is a very first time i am having this issues, my rental history has been perfect therefore I am about to sue them pretty soon if this issue is not resolved as soon as possible.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt was paid

Consumer Complaint: My lease with the apartment complex XXXX XXXX ended on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a final statement through email and regular mail. It said I had 10 days from notice to pay the amount of {$170.00}. Which I went in and paid on XX/XX/XXXX. I have a money order receipt signed by them stating that I was paying my final statement in full. But now it has come to my attention that I have an account in collections that is demanding said amount when it has ready been paid for. Not to mention that upon further inspection i have realized that i was over charged. The bill stated that my lease ended on XX/XX/XXXX which let them charge me extra for staying until XX/XX/XXXX. Which is not accurate given I signed a 13month lease concluding on XX/XX/XXXX. It also stated that my reason for moving out was " money problems ''. In the whole 13months I lived there I missed paying on time once and that was a time mismanagement on my part. I did informed them when they asked what my rent would be at the new complex, that it would be about {$300.00} cheaper. I don't believe that wanting to save money is a reason to be considered as someone who has " money problems ''.
