Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue: Trying to communicate with the company to fix an issue while managing or servicing yo
Consumer Complaint: Today I received an email claiming that I had requested a chat session with MR Cooper. I made no such request. I had previously requested not to be contacted by any of their automated systems, as well a phone number that goes directly to a person because the automated systems they provide do not work. Since ( and before ) that time I have repeatedly contacted by Mr Cooper. Mr Cooper assured me that I would not receive any more automated contacts. As far as I can tell they have not made any significant effort to that end.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: Mr cooper wants to embezzle my mother 's cash from secured funds from pension and social security plus my disabiilty compensation funds and liquidate our assets for the debts of a third party that is over 10 years ago without responding to the qualified written request because the property is not the bank 's clients and the cash is not the bank 's customers/clients. Instead of collecting from their clients in Florida, they appear to be embezzling funds from a protected minority in XXXX Without such information they really can not collect from assets of a third party who is a innocent purchaser of value 2 title companies tried to get the details of the debt for validation/verification and calculation of alleged payorr, and the bank did not comply They sent a letter saying that on XX/XX/2022 the " debt mortgage and FHA '' loan ithird party authorization was rescinded, resscindded by who? the bank? the priorr 2 owners? a third party? Who recinded that, if that is rescinded then you can not colelct from someone who does not know about the debt you are trying to collect. that is against federal law, we received some HUD information from your attorneys and we ontacteed HUD, HUD referred us to a regulator to file a complaint for fraud against the banks/title/customers.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue: Trying to communicate with the company to fix an issue related to modification, forbe
Consumer Complaint: Hi, I'm a XXXX XXXX making XXXX a year and have been paying on my mortgage for 20 years without fail. I have an XXXX mother and XXXX dogs to take care of. Lost my job in XXXX. Called Mr. Cooper to let them know. They said they could offer no help and to call back after I missed payments. This company also has problems with their phone system, have been notified, and make it nearly impossible for customers to reach them. Got a job and haven't received first paycheck yet. Called Mr Cooper to make arrangements and they're threatening me with foreclosure because I'm 3 months behind. I can not pay the higher interest rate for the loan to be modified, I can not afford that. It is criminal that Mr Cooper is offering no solutions. All they offered was for me to pay all 3 months by the end of XXXX ( which is ludicrous ). We need consumer protection- this company is using strong-arm tactics I need help, please!

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue: Applying for or obtaining a modification, forbearance plan, short sale, or deed-in-li
Consumer Complaint: I was approved for a COVID-19 loan forbearance due to loss of income because I was led to believe I would be able to obtain a modification as long as I could resume my normal payments at the end of the forbearance. This would either transfer the remaining balance to the end of my loan or divide it over several months and give me an opportunity to repay. When I regained employment I applied for modification and was denied any options other than balloon payment or short sale on the basis of my debt to income ratio. My debt to income ratio is virtually the same as what it was when I qualified for the loan originally. I have acquired no new debt and my income is minimally less in my new position than when I bought the home. The mortgage company is also refusing to allow me to make any loan payments until the total balance is settled.

Consumer Complaint: My complaint went unanswered until recently - almost 2 years after the complaint was filed with CFPB. The new lender sent me documents they received from Champion during their buyout. Champion Mortgage lied to CFPB and is the reason I never received a copy of their answer. The fraud and deception is shameful. For this lender to have misrepresented the facts to CFPB only goes to show you how comfortable they are with their deceptions. I am attaching the answer to CFPB - not the XXXX date they claim the loan was transferred to them on. I kept every document since XXXX. Note the {$3000.00} foreclosure attempt when my escrow was in excess of XXXX. Note the full and final release they provided instead of this answer. We believed we owned the home because the statue of limitations had expired by 5.6 years from the date of death of last borrower. XX/XX/XXXX - foreclosure was on XX/XX/XXXX. They have stolen tens of thousands of dollars from the Loss Draft account - these insurance proceeds were from two named storms in XXXX and Hurricane Harvey XXXX. The lender had an inspection company trespass and they left the main gate open allowing my cattle to escape.
