Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 in the afternoon before bank closing time the bank manager located on XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, NY XXXX refused to allow the withdrawal of funds when given a photo identification and other proof of identification at the branch location. The funds in the bank are in the amounts of {$320.00} savings and {$5.00} checking. Both bankers were very rude, and questioned me regarding the transactions on my account. They suggested that I was receiving illegal money for the deposits made to the account, each of the deposits are the same payor as it has been for the last five years. The bank was abusive to me, made me sit in the middle of the bank while the manager went into her office and then came out questioning me in front of other customers about by account. She then said she had a " meeting '' and that I would have to wait. The next person who came out to assist then took me over to a cubicle where the identification and transaction confirmation, statement review was done to show that there have been several deposits made and this is not illegal for someone to have money in their bank account. Being this person was supposed to be a banker, I should not have had to explain myself regarding why I had money in my bank. The questions were innappropriate and the banker was very abusive. She refused to allow me to have access to my own money or bank account and she is a contributor to human trafficking in New York state. I have been humiliated and assaulted as a result of this and other incidents regarding my own personal bank accounts.

This check was cashed on XX/XX/2022 by M & T bank. XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NY XXXX The forged check was cashed with No account number, the name XXXX was misspelled, the signature is not legible. XXXX filed a claim in my behalf, nothing has happened in 9 months, according to M & T it's Pending. I tried to contact M & T myself, they did not return emails or calls. M & T has all the infomation from XXXX, this was sent twice.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, Here is an explanation on what happened when I wired money to M & T bank XX/XX/2023 located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY, XXXX. I wired {$64000.00} to my home country XXXX and sent to XXXX to be received by someone in XXXX. When wiring the money, I showed the bank teller my account number. The bank teller made an error in the last two digits of the receivers account. When the bank teller was doing the paperwork, I asked her if she knew the change in currency from dollars to pesos ; she said she did not know. When I told her the amount I was going to send, she said it was too much money. I told her I really need to send the money as soon as possible due to the closing date of an apartment. I did not realize at the time that she made a mistake. 17 days later, the money had not been transferred. I looked at the paper I was given and the information was incorrect. XX/XX/XXXX, I went to the bank again, and another bank teller fixed the last two numbers of the account number. The new bank teller asked the old bank teller for the paper that was previously made and could not be revealed to me due to the privacy of the bank. The new bank teller said the money had not been transferred due to the error, yet my money is out of my account and not given to the recipient. Neither bank teller understood the issue and couldnt track the money. They gave me the number to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and they as well could not discover the issue or locate the lost money. We called XXXX and neither could they. XXXX would go to XXXX everyday to see if the money had been wired when it had not. After many days passed, I asked my bank to transfer the money back to me as the date of the apartment closing passed. I spent an extra {$5000.00} to extend the closing date of the apartment to no avail as it still was not wired at all. When I asked for the money back, he said there would be an extra {$75.00} fee to send the money back. The next day, another bank teller said that I bought pesos at the bank and I was very confused by this statement as my money is in dollars and I never bought pesos. XXXX is the one that makes the change in currency, not my local bank in New York. I never bought pesos in M & T bank. First, I never even knew where to buy pesos here in New York. The reason I stayed in New York is because I had to stay for a knee XXXX. I was devastated after 45 days and more and still no money has been exchanged to either parties. I feel that there is no priority put on me receiving my money back from the bank. Monday at XXXX, the bank teller told me that they will give back only {$56000.00} from the original {$64000.00} sent. However, the money never arrived in XXXX at all. Why did they give me that money when the money never arrived? Why did they change the pesos to dollars to give me my money back? If I pay in dollars, I should be paid back in dollars. To get the money back, I have to pay {$8000.00}. If the employee of M & T bank spoke spanish, why didnt they tell me the rate of anything. I was not asked to clarify any rate change, or the extra {$8000.00} they would take to get my money back that they never paid in XXXX. They deducted the money without asking me how much they were going to take. If the money is allegedly in XXXX, why did they never get paid? The original bank teller then told me that they sent it through a different company. I believe XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX, the bank did not give me any new or valuable information. I am their client that speaks my native language. It is not at all fair that I have to lose {$8000.00} due to negligence and mistake of a bank teller. I received a letter with a number from the bank and they asked me if the money was legal. I told them of course and it was my life savings from working in this country for 18 years in XXXX, as well as compensation checks and XXXX. I have proof of this if necessary. The day I received the {$56000.00}, I began getting messages from other companies and I was really confused as to why. I appreciate any further help and am willing to clarify any misunderstandings. Please help me to receive my {$8000.00} back. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: In reference to complaint XXXX In my previous complaint I explained My name is XXXX XXXX I have a mortgage with M & T Bank XXXX I recently had problems with the property tax where the house was built on 3, 25ft lots and the 3rd lot wasn't properly merged by the city with lots 1 & 2. Lot 3 was sold for tax proceeds without my knowledge. M & T provided a lawyer since they also had interest in maintaining the property, to assist with resolving the problem. The tax bill was XXXX ( including interest and additional fees ). I recently found out I am being charged XXXX for and attorney 's fee and my mortgage has changed from {$400.00} monthly to {$1700.00}. M & T is also charging me {>= $1,000,000} in addition to the above amounts as a recoverable corporate advance. I have talked to them asking them to provide a fair bill but this is excessive and well beyond the amount of the taxes or attorneys fees. Please help me. I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX widow on a fixed income and I think they are trying to take my home with excessive fees beyond my income. I have not missed a mortgage payment, I have always paid my taxes until I became exempt I can not loose my home. They still havent detailed why I am being charged XXXX that is separate from the legal fees. They lowered my payments to XXXX but thats still XXXX more than what I was paying and again Im on a fixed income and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Please help. They are trying to take my home my making it unaffordable.

This debt collector has never been to my home to attempt to collect this debt and clearly stated that he new this was a family members house and not my home. He aggressively and repeatedly asked my daughter to call us on the phone and stated she could hear everything! This man harrased my child and part of this is on her XXXX XXXX! I called m and t bank with no resolve and the manager act as if this was not intentional and Inappropriate actions! I made the manager XXXX XXXX of M and T bank fully aware I felt harassed and this guy was not a XXXX XXXX driver he was in a regular XXXX! And approaching my daughter home she was very scared and uncomfortable with the entire process! No resolve on there part!

I DEPOSIT THE CHECK ON XXXX XXXX AND THE CHECK WAS RETURNED XXXX XXXX. THE CHECK THAT WAS BEING RETURN CAUSE MY CHECKING ACCOUNT NEGATIVE XXXX. IM NOW BEING HIT WITH FEES AND ALL MY SUPPLIER ARE NOT PAID. I WENT TO THE XXXX BRANCH TO ASK HOW CAN THIS MATTER BE FIXED. THEY STATED PLEASE GET THE WIFE TO SIGN THE CHECK. T WENT TO HOMEOWNER AND OBTAINED THE WIFE SIGNATURE AND RETURN TO THE BANK TO REDEPOSIT THE CHECK. THE BANK MANGER XXXX STATED SHE CANT DEPOSIT THE CHECK. I SAID WHY DID I TAKE OFF WORK TO COME BACK DOWN HERE TO GET THE SAME RESPONSE AS YESTERDAY. XXXX THE BRANCH MANAGER WAS THE PERSON TO INITIATE THE DIRECTION THE SAID I NEED A FORM FROM THE BANK THAT THEY MAILED TO ME. I NEED THIS MATTER EXPEDITED AND RESOLVED ASAP THANK YOU

Consumer Complaint: I received a Debit card from M & T Bank in the mail. I never open an account with this bank. When I contact the customer service from M & T Bank asking question pertaining to that account, I was told the account was flagged as fraud and the account was closed. I sent a letter to the Bank asking for confirmation that the account was open in a fraudulent matter and the account has been closed. As of today I have not receive a response to my request.
