Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: This complaint is regarding a dispute ongoing with XXXX. Ive purchased the item last XXXX and received it on mid XXXX and I returned it back immediately. The total transaction amount is XXXX Since they Ive been waiting to receive the refund and then filed dispute related to the refund. Chase credit card has been stalling the process by asking me to wait after Ive submitted the requested evidence - photos showing Ive returned the item, self statement about the dispute, and Ive followed their order and did all in time. Since then for approximately 1.5-2months, all I was told to do is patiently waiting as its under review. But waiting with no response, Ive reached out to merchant XXXX regarding the transaction, and they agreed to refund me by showing me proof of refund and exact amount. Then I called chase and submitted new evidence of the refund but still they stating they dont see the money. Only after I requested to speak to senior supervisor at dispute center, they told me they already closed out the dispute given the timeframe extended beyond two billing cycle and they cant do anything for me. It fell to be my responsibility to get the money back myself. Then my question is, merchant stated they refunded and chase saying they didnt see and refused to help me only because they asked me to wait and now its beyond the timeframe. How does this make any sense? Merchant said they did refund, and shows me proof of refund, chase saying they do not the refunds and refused to do anything not even reopen and check. This is completely fraud and stealing customer money. Ive been responsive and did everything I was asked. In addition, I did their job by going in contact with merchant. And got proof of their refund. On top of transaction amount XXXX that merchant refunded me now taken by chase, theres also accrued interest for XXXX, chase just steal that principal money and earn free interest on it for 4months.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2020 XXXX stated returning payments to my credit card without any explanation or warning to me. Many payments were returned and totaled a little more than {$30000.00} after much back and forth dialogue I was told my only option was to pay the {$30000.00} in full. They closed the account, impacted my credit score, did not treat me as a valued customer and placed a financial burden on me.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I called Chase customer service to inquire about my Chase United credit card. I mentioned I wanted to close the account because I lost my job, had a decrease in my monthly income, and the increase in interest made it impossible to keep up. Id pay the balance down and it goes right back over the credit limit within 2 months as if I didnt pay anything. Im paying hundreds monthly now just to not get anywhere. The rep on the phone immediately denied me and said I cant close the card for reasons of high interest. He said he could help me if the reason was losing your source of income but to avoid high interest, I cant. I then inquired if I could establish a payment plan and I was also told I dont qualify to close my account and pay the balance in installments. Now, Im asking for help to close the card and cancel the debt because it was unfair to deny me, twice, when trying to catch up on the account and pay it off.

Consumer Complaint: My wife and I were contacted by Chase probably about XX/XX/2023, or so. They noticed two charges from XXXX that were suspicious, and asked if we had made them. We had not. When looking at our purchases online we noticed an earlier charge from the same place. it was from XX/XX/XXXX, and apparently their software had not flagged that one. We also highlighted that charge. That charge was for XXXX. They then issued new credit cards and took all 3 charges off of our account. We had to look up what agoda.com was. We have never dealt with them. 3 or 4 week later the charge they missed came back on our card, with no notice to us. I did notice it, and have spent a couple hours on the phone with many chase people to get it removed. They claim they did an investigation and it is a valid charge. They did not investigate the other twXXXX charges from the same place. Apparently since their software missed the 1st fraudulent charge either Chase pays for it, or we pay for it. They already allowed the charge. They have chosen to stick us with the bill instead of paying it themselves. During my hours on the phone with them I found it it is for some vacation place in XXXX. We have never been to XXXX. Chase claims to have done an investigation, during which they never talked to either me or my wife. No one in chase seems to be able to take the charge off. Some mysterious investigation group we can not talk to has to do that. I wonder if whenever they miss a fraudulent charge, they stick the consumer rather than paying for this mistake. It is hard for an individual to fight a large corporation. We would be very happy to talk to someone and provide more information. Please help prevent Chase from stealing almost {$2000.00} from us.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited a check to my Chase Saving account in the amount of {$25000.00} in the form of Bank Check from XXXX XXXX on Thursday ( XX/XX/2023 ) hoping to put that money to a CD at Chase. ( Note : My account at Chase has {$100.00} in it ). The personnel at the bank said he will submit it immediately for clearance. Unfortunately, we got a call from the bank personnel on Friday saying that it was not cleared and that they will hold the money for 8 days. I have checked my XXXX account Saturday night and found out the {$25000.00} was already taken. On Monday, I went to Chase Bank immediately with my wife at the XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX to settle the matter. Otherwise, I will just withdraw or get back the money. Still, we were told we can not touch that money. More so, I was blocked in accessing my account online to check the balance. My big question is, why would they hold the money for so long? I hope you could help me regarding this matter. THANK YOU.
