Consumer Complaint: I am reaching out to address my concerns regarding the treatment of my private information by Equifax, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, both identified as consumer reporting agencies under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 USC 1681 section 602a ). Per 15 USC 6801, financial institutions, including those providing information to credit agencies, are obligated to consistently respect the privacy of their customers and safeguard the confidentiality of nonpublic personal information. I believe that ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ), classified as a financial institution, falls under this obligation. However, I have not provided written consent for the disclosure of my information to Equifax and XXXX, and I wish to make it clear that any prior consent, whether verbal, non-verbal, written, implied, or otherwise, is hereby revoked effective immediately and indefinitely. As a consumer, I am entitled to ensure that my personal information is handled with fairness, impartiality, and a commitment to privacy, as mandated by the mentioned section. Referring to 15 USC 1681 section 604a ( 2 ), it is specified that a consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report only in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. I have not given written consent for the disclosure of my information to these consumer reporting agencies. I have also been violated by XXXX XXXX XXXX per my report which shows all banking history which is a violation in my banking terms agreement they had made with me. This is a violation of my privacy via the Privacy Act of 1974. Additionally, in accordance with 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ), a financial institution is prohibited from disclosing nonpublic personal information to non affiliated third parties unless the consumer is informed of their right to exercise the nondisclosure option. I have not been informed of this right by ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ). Furthermore, 15 USC 1681C ( a ) ( 5 ) prohibits consumer reporting agencies from including adverse information in a consumer report without authorization. The reporting of adverse information without my permission is a violation of this provision. According to 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( A ) ( 1 ) A, a person is not allowed to furnish inaccurate information to a consumer reporting agency. Equifax and XXXX must ensure the accuracy of the information they receive, and I have reason to believe that inaccuracies exist. Lastly, in accordance with 12 CFR 1016.7, I am opting out of your reporting services at this time. I expect a thorough investigation into these matters and a resolution that ensures compliance with the relevant statutes.
