Issue: Closing on a mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a home equity on XX/XX/2018 and received the loan on XX/XX/2018. On XX/XX/2018 I was issued a closing disclosure that stated no prepayment penalty on the loan. Now I have learned there is a prepayment penalty on the loan. If I knew this upfront on the closing disclosure I would have never closed. Because of this bait and switch, I was forced to close on a loan with different attributes than on the closing disclosure. I would like all interest paid returned and the prepayment fee waived and allow me to pay of the loan without penalty as on the closing disclosure.

Consumer Complaint: This is an issue Discover was going to handle a long time ago. I was recently looking at my XXXX XXXX and noticed it is saying XX/XX/XXXX I applied or signed for some type of thing with there bank or credit card. I had called them XX/XX/XXXX and this was all told me it would be solved. I had no idea this was still on my report. I did not do this. This was fraud and not authorized by me. I was informed this would be off my credit file but for some reason it is still showing up on my XXXX and XXXX and other credit reports. I had just called them to try to understand and they have no knowledge or any card or inquiry from there customer service team. I called them XX/XX/XXXX was the recent call. I asked them to put on the notes and if they could remove them. I was getting run around answers. I do not have an account with them. I did not have an account with them. I did not apply for any account with them. I am hoping someone here can help resolve the situation and fix this so my credit report is correct.

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: My Discover Card statement ending XX/XX/XXXX has a credit balance of - {$220.00} as stated in the Account Summary. In addition, words at the bottom of the statement say " Your account has a credit balance. No payment is due '' On the statement ending XX/XX/XXXX in the Account Summary it shows the previous balance of - {$220.00}. However, they added that amount to debits owed instead of as a credit. The bill says I owe {$210.00} when in fact they owe me {$370.00} I called and talked to XXXX in billing and when I asked for a manager he lied and gave me another billing agent. Neither one could help me and the last agent XXXX said a billing manager is not available. They will not admit the Account Summary is incorrect.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: This is a disputed credit card charge of {$910.00} from XX/XX/2013 which was a fraudulent action by someone in XXXX Tennessee who used my name and card number. I had called Discover Card at the time that this was a fraudulent charge. Someone had used my card account number to obtain cash advances fraudulently. The charges on the card were all cash advances to an address at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TN. I informed Discover Card at that time that my card had been compromised and I have never lived, visited nor knew anyone anywhere in Tennessee. I wrote to Discover Card after notification from them that they were holding me accountable and recently when I discovered the charge, though disputed, was still on my credit record. Discover Card refuses to do anything about it.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: I worked and followed step by step the identity theft.gov 's way to handle these situations of identity fraud. I sent in all paperwork, every single document requested and needed for these companies to fix these issues and this is the second company to send me a letter stating there is nothing they can do. I want to take the investigation further as I have a very good idea of who the suspect ( s ) are and believe there is a fraud 'ring ' going on but I will finish working on my issues first. So after they received all necessary information to removed the hard inquiries from my credit report which I have worked tirelessly for years to get to where it is they just simply state they don't have enough information help, although all necessary document where sent to them. I had to go through this same process with XXXX ( XXXXXXXX XXXX ) and now because it has been well after the thirty days I have to with the rest of them. I want to thank you for your help with them as they sent out a letter which must have been nearly immediately after receiving whatever they received from you apologizing and removing the inquires so thank you very much. Unfortunately I will be sending four or five ( I cant think of ther exact number right now of how many more they tried to open ) so I apologize in advance for that, I will probably copy and paste this as my hands literally hurt from spending all day on the computer looking up my rights and what I can do etc. So all I want from these companies is for them to remove the inquires from my hard earned credit report and any and all information on the applications etc they have from the fraudulent applications so I can move forward with my case against these criminals. Thank you so much, you guys and the XXXX site have been unbelievably helpful ; when no one else was.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: Discover Bank is inaccurately reporting late 's on my credit file for the months of XX/XX/2019 through XX/XX/2019. I paid my full balance off completely. I was not advised about any interest fees thereafter my balance was paid off. for 3 months I did not receive any notifications, letters, or any phone calls that I had a balance until I checked my credit file and noticed the lates. They had my email address wrong in their system. They agreed to remove all the fees, yet they are still showing a balance and late charges on my account. I request they remove the lates and fees as this was not my fault!!!
