Consumer Complaint: I have. A discover card. That I recently found out had unauthorized charges. ( I became sick and unable to focus on bills - billing statements still actively closed in envelopes proving I had not seen any statements ) it did take. Awhile for me to report but this was due to me just finding out. Im being helps liable for unauthorized charges and being forced to pay for these unauthorized charges. I had no idea this occurred and when I became aware I reported it and told them I had not seen statements to know. They keep insisting Im liable due to their speculations and false accusations without objective proof basing everything on what could have happened what I couldve done. Falsely accusing me of doing this without objective proof making me feel like I need to defend myself from them placing me in a position of defending myself as if Im a criminal. It is I believe their join to help customers not use everything to pin charges on them because they cant find anyone to blame. Im being forced to pay for unauthorized charges. And when resolving dispute they said they resolved dispute. They did not Resolving a dispute between customer n creditor involves a resolution between parities. This is not resolved to me. Or when I received a letter they stated they needed more information without speaking to me same day they sent a. Letter saying they concluded the investigation. And holding me liable. Essentially the dispute was not handled properly or timely. Please call me for more info pleas e. Discover falsely accused customers and makes the. Believe they did something wrong putting the. Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, On or around XX/XX/XXXX a representative of Discover Card called my mother XXXX and claimed that she opened a Discover card account in XXXX. My mother is XXXX years old and even if she had a Discover card in the past her account was closed more than ten years ago. Despite the fact that my mother denied having an open Discover card account, the Discover representative speaking to her via an interpreter conducted the conversation with an attitude of crime investigator and insisted that a card in her name was opened in XXXX and ( as she understood it ) she was a subject to a fraud investigation. I find the behavior of the Discover card associates conducting the phone call unacceptable. I am a discover card holder for about 13 years and would really appreciate that you do not talk to my relatives in the manner described above. I would also like to inform Discover that I find it unacceptable to disclose any information about my Discover card account to anyone that I have not specifically authorized to disclose the information to. After XX/XX/XXXX the online access to my account was restricted and wen I was attempting to log in into my account I was receiving the message that you can see in one of the attachments. It is concerning that Discover not only handles their communications in an unprofessional manner, but it also blocks customers accounts selectively based solely on the fact that the customers are not typical customers. As of today my account is adversely affected since I can not enjoy the same level of services as other Discover customers have and Discover has not provided me with any reasons, other than the fact that they have not talked to me over the phone, indicating why my account is adversely affected.
