Consumer Complaint: I am XXXX years old. I have been a Discover Credit Card customer for over XXXXyears. I have never missed a payment. Discover was one of the first credit cards I received that helped me build my credit. I started with a credit line of {$2000.00} and they slowly increased my credit line to {$4800.00} due to my good payment history. For some reason, during the pandemic, Discover closed my credit line. At the time, I had a XXXX balance so, I didn't realize it for a few months. This negatively impacted my credit given : ( 1 ) it closed an account that I had since I started to establish credit ( lowering my average length of credit ), ( 2 ) dramatically increased my credit utilization given the {$4800.00} credit line had a XXXX balance, however, it was one of my larger credit lines, and finally ( 3 ) it says that it was closed by my creditor which is another negative impact. As I stated, I have always paid all of my creditors on time since I first established credit at XXXX years old. My income has only increased over the past year and I have had a stellar payment history with Discover. There was no reason for Discover to close my account, particularly in the middle of a pandemic.

Consumer Complaint: Today I was contacted by a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX and they told me they were calling over an " upcoming litigation '' being filed against me for an alleged unpaid discover credit card balance from decades ago ( they either said XXXX or XXXX. At that time I would have had my maiden name and that is not what they addressed me as ) for the amount of {$2300.00}. I don't recall ever having a discover credit card and I called Discover customer support and verified that to be true. This company has all of my personal information, including my social security number. The whole experience is rattling and I hope they can be caught and stopped.

Being that they have gone past the 30 day point and can not verify this account, under Section 611 5.A of the FCRA- they are required to " promptly delete all information which can not be verified. Consumer Complaint: I have had my discover credit card since XXXX of 2015. I used the card a lot and carried a balance most of the time. Last year I received a bonus at work, and paid off the credit card in XXXX to increase my utilization ratio, that will be good for my credit score. And low and behold, my credit score got higher by quite a lot. I have not used the card since I paid it off. I traveled to my home country ( XXXX XXXX ) as a family member got very sick with covid and I left on short notice. Ive been away for 4 months. I get back, and without any notice - I receive an email from Discover bank 2 days ago close to midnight, that my account has been closed due to inactivity. Ive been a member for nearly 7 years and never had one late payment. I called them and they were so unhelpful. Even the supervisor. Rude in-fact and just wouldnt even try to help. This will hurt my credit report tremendously as this will decrease my overall credit utilization ratio.
