IRS INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEBTOR. Consumer Complaint: I am stressed and displeased that I see so many fraudulent accounts on my credit report. This is really damaging my credit worthiness. I am trying to buy a home for me and my family and this is not fair. i have tried several times to get these accounts removed. Let alone, my information was in an XXXX & XXXX data breach some months ago so I thought you all would protect my consumer report. I do not feel that my information is being protected. This is a defamation of my character, and this is a federal law violation. According to, 15 U.S.C. & 1681 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 ) ( 4 ) my consumer report fairness and privacy has been violated. I am upset!! I am depending on the banking system and credit reporting agencies to promote my privacy and fairness and they have not. This is not right and goes against my federal consumer rights. This is causing emotional and mental stress as of now. Also, it is illegal these companies should NOT be furnishers of people 's information to 3rd party companies, so this is illegal, neglect and fraud. I have already reported this to the local police department and Federal Trade Commission. These companies and the credit bureaus can get sued for these damages. This is negatively affecting my livelihood and putting me in a bad space. I feel your database is inaccurate and I am filing litigation against this if these items are not removed, immediately.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX made an online payment of {$90.00} for a payment plan to Discover card- the payment cleared to be paid to Discover card. XX/XX/XXXX discover drafted another {$90.00} that didnt clear causing an insufficient funds fee of {$26.00}. I contacted them about the issue on that day & soon after another attempt was made to get the {$90.00} & my account accrued a 2nd insufficient funds fee of {$26.00}. I contacted them and asked to refund the {$52.00}. After phone tagging for several days my request was denied to have {$52.00} refunded to my account even though I made the payment on time & the money was in the account. I had asked to provide proof of my the transactions but was declined to do so. In the 1st attachments I took a screenshot of my payment to discover & the 2nd and final screenshots are of my bank account. It shows the 1st {$90.00} I paid on the XXXX cleared fine & my remaining balance was {$66.00} & change until 2 more attempts to get money were made by discover.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a Discover card for over XXXX years and always have had my account set for automatic payments. In XXXX my checking account was compromised by criminals and my bank said that I would have to close my checking and get a new account with a new number. I called Discover on XX/XX/ and notified the rep that I had a new checking account number and that I wanted to manually process my XXXX payment and that I wanted my old checking account deleted and the new account added for automatic payments going forward. I read my new account number to the rep no less than four times. I ended the call, thinking that all was well and thought no more of the issue. On XX/XX/ during the middle of the day, I received a call from the collections department at Discover. I explained to the rep on XX/XX/ what my conversation with the rep on XX/XX/ was and how I had given them my new checking information. The phone rep said that Discover had tried to process my payment on my OLD account and that it had been returned. I gave the rep my checking information for the FIFTH time on XX/XX/ and she processed my payment and said she was adding the account to automatic payment. The rep went further to tell me that Discover would listen to the XX/XX/23call and would find out why the rep failed to perform his job. I left the call on XX/XX/ feeling that my issues were resolved and no further action was required on my part. OXX/XX/23 Discover did not process my automatic payment as they should have. Discover reported me as late on the credit bureaus. On XX/XX/23Discover reduced my credit limit from {$33000.00} to {$24000.00} which caused me to be over my limit, and also began charging me the " default '' rate. On XX/XX/ I called Discover, spoke to a rep named XXXX in the XXXX call center ( XXXX is her supervisor ). XXXX assured me that she would look into this issue and that she would call me back on my cell phone onXX/XX/23 at XXXX XXXX. XXXX never called, I waited until XXXXXXXX XXXX and called Discover onXX/XX/23I spoke to a rep in Ohio named XXXX. XXXX was very professional and at present says that he is still looking into the matter. I need for Discover to remove the late payment report from my account and from the credit bureaus immediately. I want my credit line restored back to {$33000.00} where it was prior to XX/XX/ and any default apr to be removed and the apr to reflect a customer in good standing. I want a written apology from DISCOVER. I have NEVER BEEN LATE paying DISCOVER.

Consumer Complaint: I am feeling deeply distressed, extremely disappointed, and unwell due to the inaccurate information you provided to the credit bureau regarding the late payments on my consumer reports. This misinformation is damaging my reputation and has a detrimental effect on my health. Late payments, as you know, should not be included in a consumer credit report, as it is against the law. These inaccuracies regarding late payments are a clear violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and I insist that you take immediate action to remove them from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I was scammed by a company called XXXX. I purchased XXXX hours of cleaning. They performed 2 hours of cleaning and promised to reschedule the other. Each time they would reschedule, they cancelled. After several times over the course of 10 days of them cancelling these rescheduled appointments, I told them to cancel my account. Because I cancelled the account, I was charged {$120.00} cancellation fee. I called Discover Bank about this scam. The first representative hung up on me after I told her I wanted to hold for a manager. I called back and got the same representative again and immediately requested that she transfer me to someone else. Once transferred, the second rep told me that Discover Bank does not investigate or cover scams. She suggested that I keep trying to work with XXXX for a refund. XXXX does not have a telephone number to call. I have been emailing them continuously and they refuse to issue a refund. I offered to send Discover Bank the emails so they can see that I was scammed and this is a fraudulent charge and they said it didn't matter what the email said because they do not investigate scams.

Consumer Complaint: I was approved for a College Student card in XX/XX/2023 with a {$500.00} credit limit. The application asked for household income and I listed it. I am in college & only receive financial aid, scholarships, & student loans. My mother takes care of me & claims me on her income tax. I signed up for a credit monitoring service with Discover & received an alert that my info was on the dark web, that I was involved in a data breach, & that someone was using my info ( name, SS #, & DOB ) in another state. Discover had me provide ALL types of information to verify my identity & households income! I did EVERYTHING asked, including uploading IRS forms, uploading my ID and Social Security card, my moms income tax return to show income and proof of identity, speaking to a live person, MULTIPLE times! Only to NEVER be able to use the card & then to get an alert that my account has been closed and my credit score has DECREASED!! Other than coming to verify IN PERSON, I dont understand what could not be verified as far as my identity! To be my 2nd credit card, this was very disappointing and EMBARRASSING ( when I kept getting a decline in XXXX )!
