Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/22, I deposited a check for {$35000.00} at Citibank Branch Located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. The check was deposited into my Business Checking. Account name : XXXX XXXX XXXX, account number XXXX. I am a signer on the account and my name is listed on account. The check was made out to me, XXXX XXXX and was issued by CA Covid19 Rent Relief Program through their bank XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. Approximately {$18000.00} was made available immediately I withdrew {$8500.00} as I was told by the teller at this location that they did not have enough cash on hand to deliver rest of the cash that was not on hold Teller advised that the release of the full amount of funds would occur on date XX/XX/22 On date XX/XX/22 I was informed that my account is being investigated and would likely be closed because of the amount of the check in question I was advised via customer service on date XX/XX/22 that my funds would not be available for XXXX days until an investigation has completed and account closed, at which time a check will be issued for funds in my account. My account is legitimate, my check is legitimate, I am legitimate This type of policies and or reckless rules should be outlawed If my account is being closed then I should be able to immediately withdraw my funds. They are essentially holding my funds in limbo with no cause. These funds are for government funded rent relief that I desperately needed to keep up with my mortgage. They are sabotaging any relief from the covid pandemic that I was about to receive, through laws that were passed by congress. Regulators and the Federal Reserve should put an end to this practice conducted by Citibank. I would like the Release of Covid 19 Rent relief Funds issued by the state of California, that is being held unlawfully and without legitimate cause. Since the check has already cleared, the funds should immediately be released to my possession. Congress passed laws passed laws to help people affected by Covid get relief, but this relief is being sabotaged by Citibank.

I do apologize for the late response, I was waiting on confirmation to approve the cancellation of your loan. With any of our third party loans, cancellations after the 3 day period is very difficult as you are subjected to their contract terms, however we were able to cancel your loan with no penalties. I understand you and your boyfriend felt there were other avenues you can take in taking care of your IRS liability, and I would urge you not to put it on the back burner. The IRS has just invested millions of dollars and hired thousands of agents in order to start active collections, and some agents can be extremely aggressive and impose garnishments, liens and XXXX 's on taxpayers who are already having a difficult time with day to day living. Consumer Complaint: Hello, i was in XXXX ( XXXX, XXXX XXXX ), I was charged an unclear ammount, and requested to get the receipt with the card provider once i was home. ( Billing transaction would be the XXXX of XXXX, XXXX ). Dispute credit date is XX/XX/XXXX for the ammount of XXXX. The only way i could do this since the hotel didnt list a number for Citi to contact with was via dispute. I was told that we could use the information provided to clear this matter up, and i requested a credit for the ammount of XXXX night. ( this was because i received a room with mold, and made a switch on my stay within the hotel. ). The charge seemed 1 nights room to high. Instead of Citi reaching back out to me with the phone number and billing details, they justt closed the case and reversed the credit. Seperately, i disussed 3 other issues with similar outcomes because its very evident that the cardholder is the product, the vendor is the client. We have one with XXXX XXXX grading from XX/XX/XXXX for {$550.00}, ( {$1100.00} total charge ). This resulted in no help, and i later on my own accord/expense got the grading service of the other reputable competitor to show it was infact the highest quality. Seperately, i purchased something from XXXX for {$62.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and half the order was wrong. Citi would help even with the dispute service, and XXXX ended up locking my account, and Citi reversed the credit they gave me... once again leaving me to defend myself. XXXX ended up leaving me with the wrong package, and sending me the correct item. No longer on the ledger from Citi was an XXXX XXXX purchase. They sent me a destroyed white leather couch that the repair man said was caused by air bubbles in the hide. Then the furniture chain tried to replace it with another seconds leather couch. After months and months, and after Citi sided with the vendor, XXXX finally picked up the couch when i decided to rent my new home purchase. The closing date was XX/XX/XXXX, and i rented it by the XXXX of XXXX, XXXX, so that would be the time frame. and the couch was somewhere between XXXX and XXXX XXXX Citi is blatantly treating the US citizen as a product, not a card provider for the citizen, but a customer provider to the US and XXXX XXXX. This is wrong, please investigate it. When i brought this up with Citi on the day i opened the XXXX hotel dispute, i told them the best way to help was to provide a few dedicated representatives to help on the dispute. It seems they have no interest on this. Consumer Complaint: I am signed up for estatements with my Citi credit card. When I log into the Citi banking portal for my Citi credit card, I am unable to see statements online for months in which there was no activity. This is default behavior. I took a screenshot showing there is no statement available for viewing for the months of XXXX and XXXX of this year. However, I have determined there is a bug in the portal website architecture as there was in fact activity during this period : I made a large external bill payment to the account to pay off a balance transfer I had previously made to the card. I wanted to confirm that I wouldn't be charged any additional interest going forward, but I am unable to determine this online due to the missing statements. I tried to reach out to support using the online chat feature, but the agent was unable to assist me.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2022 I was shopping online for a small personal loan of XXXX, I was approved by a loan company to receive the XXXX I do not remember the loan company name as I applied to a lot of companies and the loan Dicuments seem to have been deleted from my email account I dont believe by me. On XX/XX/2022 I went to take out my rent money and f I und i couldn't get access to my account, I then called Citibank customer service and found out I was the victim of a fraud, 2 fake checks were deposited into my Checking account, both were detected by fraud prevention and no money was taken from the account, the representative informed me that my account was going to be closed for fraudulent activities, I said then I need my rent money and pay check taken out of my account as my rent was due I was informed that I wasn't allowed to have my m I ney until my account was closed in 3 to 5 days and a check mailed to me. I told them I couldn't wait for my money to be sent that my rent was due and my Landlord was strict, they said nothing could be done. After the 4th day I c as lled Citibank Customer Service again and told them I really need my rent money as my landlord was very displeased. Again they said nothing could be done but if I wanted to go into a branch of the bank they we old give me my money, I looked up the closest branch and found it was 5hrs away from me and I do n't drive, so the rep informed me that a check would be mailed in 5 -10 days wich wasn't what I was initially told, I said to the rep that if this kept up I was I uld be facing eviction all they said was I'm a orry can't help after t a t I continued to call and ask for m t money 3 to 4 times a week only to get the same response exc we p r the w a it time for the check went to 30 to 60 days, I told yet another ro that I surely would be evicted this day Citibank refuses to give me my funds that were labeled amicic partners payroll and have now tried to say that I deposited the checks which is a lie and when asked admitted they have no proof of that, I'm still facing eviction today and there has been no resolution

Consumer Complaint: Citibank fraudulently debited my account and additional {$2000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and even when I notified then about it and they admitted that it was their mistake, they flat out refused to do anything about it. Citibank put my account in on " Overdrawn '' status because of its own fraudulent debits and denied me access to my own funds for 2 days. I use this account as my primary account and losing access to my hard earned money for 2 days caused me lot of hardship. Since they put my account in " Overdrawn '' status for 2 days, my XXXX request for pulling money from an external bank ACH 's service were also rejected. I was charged 2 {$35.00} fees for that and Citibank is refusing to do anything about it. I lost at least 5 hours trying to reason with their XXXX XXXX CSR agents who habitually XXXX to customers. If all that wasn't bad enough, their customer service is even worse. There is no way to put it, but they are all donkeys, no offense to donkeys. These are some of the XXXX excuses I was provided - They tried to blame me for their own account mistake, even though debits showed the same id ( XXXX ), they kept blaming me by saying that I initiated 2 transactions. - Some were so XXXX that they couldn't even recognize the transaction id as initiated from Citibank itself. Asked me to contact the recipient bank which had nothing to do with Citibank 's stupidity. - If you ask for a supervisor, they just hang up on you - Some agents feel it is ok to chat and giggle with their co-workers while they are on call with a client - The worst part, when you ask for some one higher up, they flat out XXXX to you. The excuse is always the same that their manager is in a meeting an they will call me back, Of course, no one ever calls back. - They flat out refuse to correct the mistake even after they admit it after hours of arguing. - When asked what should a customer do when a XXXX bank like Citibank fraudulently overdraws a customers account, the answer is try borrowing money from a friend. To the person who is responding to this, I have proof of everything that I said included the phone calls. So you better not lie like everyone at Citibank habitually does. I have attached proof that even on the 2nd day, after spending 5 hours on the phone with these XXXX XXXXs, they hadn't rectified the issue. CFPB, will you please also refer this case to DoJ so that they can take appropriate action against the XXXX XXXX who run this bank. The only reason this scam of a bank survived was because of clients and tax payers like that.

Consumer Complaint: I have an active Citibank Card ( Costco Anywhere Card ) that I pay the balance on every month via electronic funds transfer through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX 's bill payment feature. I also have an old Citibank account that has been closed for many years, however, it remains on the bill payment page for my bank. I scheduled my payment to Citibank and failed to realize I sent it to the old closed account. I realized it when my active account had a late balance. I immediately paid the amount due on the open and active Citibank account and called my bank to see what could be done. My bank said they can do nothing. We must contact Citibank. We reached out to Citibank by phone several times and they tell us they can't find the account. I have the confirmation information from the bank that it went to Citibank and connected to that account number. They said they can not help us. So Citibank has a {$1100.00} payment they are not due, and will not provide any assistance. Can you please provide assistance in getting this money returned? It was paid to a closed account that has not been active for years. The amount due has been paid in full to my open Citibank account.
