Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 XXXX charged my card {$42.00} for an order I placed, however the order was incorrect. It was someone else 's order brought to me by mistake. I contacted Capital One, and was credited the amount of the order immediately. Fast forward to yesterday XX/XX/2023 and Capital One removed the credit and sided with the merchant with merely the merchants word that " items were received as stated and in good condition '' with XXXX supporting evidence. I was asked to respond to maintain my credit of {$42.00} which I promptly did so hours later. I responded with a detailed step by step explanation, photographic proof of the incorrect order that the merchant provided, and explained my endless attempts to work it out with the merchant before contacting Capital One, also providing proof of those attempts as well. Despite all this, hours later Capital One denies all of my evidence and sides with the merchant, deciding their one sentence with XXXX backing beats my photographic evidence and detailed explanation. Clearly Capital One is motivated by greed, not protecting their customers. I've never initiated any charge backs before with Capital One, I've been a trouble free customer until my money was effectively stolen from my account in this incident. While the dollar amount may be small at only {$42.00}, I work hard for my money and refuse to be stolen from.

Consumer Complaint: I had a Capital One credit card and had problems with XXXX processing a payment for them. However I went through another one of my bank accounts to issue a payment to them. Their company sat on the phone for 45 minutes falsely having XXXX three way in and under false pretenses coercing me into giving permission to access my account. Never once did the Capital One employees state they were closing my account out and even sent me emails stating they could help me get back on track due to the messed up payments which was a complete lie. They do not value customers nor do they work with them. They make false statements through their employees, email communications, and letters. This company is a complete lie and I would regret anyone having to deal with these issues themselves. They closed my account out after making several payments and refused to return my money/make it credit available lying stating it would be available by XX/XX/XXXX and then closing my account the next day. This should be highly illegal for anyone to make transactions with them or have an account with a company that gives out falsified information that therefore misleads customers and coerced them into situations that they would not have agreed to had their customers like myself known the truth. Never working with them again and have since received multiple emails trying to coerce me into another card with them after they just shut my card down. Seems like a scam to try to get a bunch of individuals to pursue using their services knowing they would close their accounts for literally no reason. Bait and switch tactics are implemented by this company.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I responded to a letter from Capital One, stating to them that I feel that I have been discriminated against. The reason for this is because of the response I received. Capital One stated that they observed activity on a prior account which I did not have and told me it goes against their expectation. It's been over 15 years since I have done any business with Capital One Bank and feel that this goes against FCRA rules that state : The length of time that negative information can remain on your credit report is governed by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Most of it must be taken off after seven years. Some items, such as bankruptcy, can remain for up to 10 years, and other items, such as civil judgments or tax liens no longer are reported at all. Following are eight types of negative information that may appear on your report, with suggestions on how to lessen their damage. This is in response to application ID : XXXX
