Consumer Complaint: The bank Capital One is holding credit on my accounts not allowing me to use my funds in my account. Capital one also denied claims of mine without doing a full investigation. Capital never looked into my police reports capital one also did not look into the girl that was charged with stealing my banking information. Capital one has had my claim more than 30 days and they are holding my money and causing me hardship.

In XXXX after making 3 full payments on my credit cards capital one close all of my accounts due to bank error. Captial, one continues to draft accounts after being close and report the accounts as charge and close despite still making payments. I called and was told I can't make changes to my account, and they can't stop payments.

Consumer Complaint: I was financially struggling but remaining in communication with Capital 1 in regards to my Capital 1 credit card. I paid off my credit card this summer under the advice of their staff that stated that I would be able to have use of my card after I paid. When I paid and called back to have the restriction removed the first person I spoke with said that the account was not closed -Staff name is XXXX XXXX The second person I spoke with XXXX ( XXXX ), stated that there was a permanent restriction on my account and that I could reapply for another card. This goes against everything I had been told previously and I feel I was mislead intentionally so that they would get their money back. The third person I spoke with ( XXXX XXXX XXXX stated that the account was not closed but restricted. Again I was not sure what this meant given the card could not be used and that reapplying would mean a new injury on my credit which I wanted to avoid. She stated that she would document my compliant but when I asked for a confirmation of the complainant being filed she stated that she was a manager and unable to transfer the call any higher and that there is no formal compliant process which I also asked to be documented that I was upset about she directed me to write a letter to Capital 1 if I wanted to file the compliant with response. she stated that there was a letter which I never received. I was financially struggling but still choose to pay back the card company as I am really trying to work on my credit I feel I am being punished for trying to do the right thing. There were times I choose not to buy fruit and vegetables because I wanted to pay back my card company and another time I choose to pay back Capital 1 instead of paying lights. I was dedicated to building my credit and having access to a credit card again as it is the only one I have. I would not have made these extreme sacrifices during my time of need if I had been informed that I would not have access to that card in the future. I was fully under the impression I would be able to use my card again in its full capacity once I paid my restricted account and not one representative that I spoke to while my account was still owed corrected this for me even after conversation with them about using the card responsibility in the future. This is misleading and I was purposely not informed about the account restrictions. What I really dislike about this is that they made money off of me being in hardship. I believe I paid more in interest and late fees than I ever spent on the card.

Consumer Complaint: I went through a company called XXXX to get my forms for my taxes and submitted it to the IRS. Due to investment loss and gain my refund ended up being XXXX Dollars. The funds were sent to XXXX on XXXX. XXXX sent took out the fee for the software and forwarded it to XXXX to summit the remaining amount to " my bank '' Somehow, somewhere to wrong account number was put on the tax forms. I learned from XXXX when called to see where my return was. I contacted Capital One, the bank the funds were sent to. I already had a credit card there so I opened up a checking account so they could deposit the funds correctly. I provided them the tracing number of the EFT deposit, the date, the account it was sent to ( which was closed and has no relations to me at all ), my new account number, the amount. They opened a " claim '' after 10 days I received a notice from them saying that the deposit was deposited as per the info sent over. I had already told them this. So, I called probably for the XXXX time at least spoke to a supervisor who said they would file and appeal with the additional information I provided. which i had already provided on the XXXX. I also went back to XXXX who says Capital one has the money and accepted the deposit they can not request it back. However, Capital one had already refused to send it back. Yesterday I got another email from Capital one denying my appeal telling me to go back to XXXX again. I called XXXX and sent a demand letter, which I had also sent to Capital one. They contacted me and said they literally can not request it back. Capital One accepted the deposit that was sent in my name to an inactive account they have the funds. At this point I am being told that basically neither company will do anything. Capital has kept my money and is refusing to deposit it into my account or send it back to XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: We were victims of wire fraud involving our CapitalOne account on XX/XX/XXXX. We sent about {$32000.00} to pay what we thought was the remainder of balance on our flooring purchase. We were informed on XX/XX/XXXX by the company that they were hacked with several other customers involved. We initiated recall with CapitalOne on XX/XX/XXXX. We are now at almost 6 weeks and still don't have an answer. We feel we are in the dark. XXXX is unable to help since we do not have account with them. CapitalOne is telling us they are waiting for XXXX to respond, XXXX is only able to tell us and only after filing a complaint that they have responded to CapitalOne. It appears that the two banks are responding but not communicating. We are unable to speak with anyone from Capitalone directly involved with figuring out this wirefraud, only that they will forward my message to the proper department. We have been customers with CapitalOne savings for more than a decade starting in XXXX with XXXX, subsequently taken over by CapitalOne. CapitalOne has used large sums of our funds for their investment with a very miniscule return for the customer.

Consumer Complaint: Over XXXX years ago I used my Capital One credit card to receive a cash advance of {$1000.00} ( as I remember it ) in order to pay my home owners insurance for XXXX year ( this was necessary in order to refinance the mortgage on our home ) The credit card company treats cash advances differently than purchases and the cash advance rate is higher than the rate for purchases. Though I've been faithfully making credit card payments, my credit card company is still charging the monthly interest on the loan of {$1000.00}! I was told by the bank that the only way to stop the interest charges would be to pay what's left on the principle of the loan which was still over {$900.00} ( the last time I checked ) This is outrageous and completely unfair! I always pay more than the minimum on my card but so little of that extra money gets applied to the principle of cash advanced that I am essentially doomed to pay on that loan for the next 20 years or so and end up paying thousands of dollars more than the original {$1000.00} cash advance.
