Consumer Complaint: I had an account with Comenity BankXXXX XXXX This account was sold to the collections agency XXXX XXXX in XXXX. Both XXXX XXXX and Comenity Bank were reporting derogatory statuses on my credit report which led to an negative impact on my financial abilities. I contacted Comenity XX/XX/XXXX to make a payment but was told the account was sold to XXXX XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX and paid the account XX/XX/XXXX and their reporting was removed from my credit report entirely. I was told the trade account would be removed also. Comenity Bank has continued to report the account monthly as a charge off. Since the account was sold it should have been removed completely. I have filed numerous disputes with the company and called without success. I need the issue resolved so that I may re-finance my home.

This does not include the 4 voice messages. I should not have to answer all day everyday when their system clearly shows an arrangement on file.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid my account in full {$340.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was charged a {$8.00} finance charge. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a statement in the mail stating that I owed {$35.00} ( XXXX FC + XXXX Late fee + XXXX Minimum finance charge + XXXX Late fee + XXXX Minimum finance charge ). Once I got the statement I paid the {$35.00} and called Comenity Bank. I was advised to send a secure message on my online portal, which I did and have not received a response. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called back and talked to XXXX and XXXX and they said they were not able to help me. My credit took a XXXX point hit and I would like this reversed as I have never made a late payment and I paid the account in full.

Consumer Complaint: I paid the balance in full in XX/XX/2021. They claim it arrived a day late. I was charged a late fee and finance charges, which created a new balance on the account. I was not aware of the late fee and finance charge, therefore did not make another payment by due date. I was charged another late fee and finance charge for the balance which consisted of a late fee and finance charge. I called the credit card company they refused to remove the late fees and finance charges. I tried to explain to them that i shouldn't charged more than XXXX fee for any single event or transaction that warrants penalty ( e.g. XXXX different types of late fees for XXXX missed paymentthink the legal concept of double jeopardy ). They disagreed.

Through my Bill payer service, I sent full pay-off amount of {$40.00} to Commenity Bank XXXX XX/XX/2021, which was XXXX days prior to the due date. XXXX sheet attached. XXXX. Commenity Bank alleged they did not receive payment for app XXXX weeks. I was charged a {$35.00} late fee plus {$2.00} interest, resulting in a new balance of {$77.00} XXXX. Sent my first letter, dated XX/XX/2021 which disputed the balance and late fees. Received no response. XXXX sheet attached. XXXX. I continued to receive monthly bills adding new late fees [ {$35.00} each month ] & interest each month. XXXX. I sent a XXXX letter, certified with return receipt, to Commenity Bank, which they received XX/XX/2021. I again disputed the entire balance. I provided a copy from my bank 's Bill Payer service documenting my payment of {$40.00} [ which paid off my account ] was sent on XX/XX/2021. XXXX and XXXX sheets show copies of the letter I certified with return receipt. XXXX sheet attached is a copy of my Bill Payer service printout. I use XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, PA XXXX. Received a letter from Commenity Bank, dated XX/XX/2021 - they were researching my dispute of the charges and they requested XXXX days to research and respond to my allegations. XXXX sheet attached. XXXX. It has been over the legal allowable XXXX day time frame which Commenity Bank has to resolve a complaint. I am requesting intervention from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to get this issue resolved. XXXX. Consumer Complaint: I contacted the Ohio Attorney General 's Office since Comenity Bank 's offices are located in XXXX, Ohio. They do not really handle my type of complaint, so they suggested I contact the CFPB to resolve it. I had a credit account with XXXX. The creditor for this account was Comenity Bank. I paid this credit account in full in XX/XX/2020. Comenity Bank continued to add finance charges and then late fees to this account. This was after I paid the credit account in full and requested that they close it. Over the past year, Comenity Bank has continued their attempt to collect these finance charges and late fees that I do not owe. They have piled fees and charges on top of each other for a paid off and closed account. The last known collection balance was up to {$92.00}. Comenity Bank has also reported this account negatively to the credit bureaus.
