Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Comenity collection department collected {$66.00} as a payment to take the balance to {$0.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX Comenity collection department send me a bill with a balance of {$110.00} due on XX/XX/XXXX I called to dispute this new amount and they told me that a manager can override any previous agreement made with any agent and that they would not take that off my balance. I told them that the agent had spoken to a manager, and they agreed to take off all the other charges to listen to the recorded conversation we had. They said they do not keep recorded messages and they do not have transcript of the conversations. The original amount is {$20.00} for a yearly membership fee that was never used so I forgot about it and did not cancel. Those {$20.00} grew fees on top of fees. They did not want to come to an agreement, nor did I know about my rights stated in 15 US code 1692, under section C. They did not go to the right channels and process to collect my money and once again to avoid more fees I ended paying them the {$110.00} on XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Dear CCB/CHLDPLCE ; I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found late payment on the dates below : XX/XX/2022 30-days. I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. Also, with everything going on, particularly COVID-19, being hospitalized with XXXX, loss of a family member lately, and loss of job, etc. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX was absorbed into Bread Financial ( as I understand it ) in late 2022. At that time my Interval World Mastercard online account was no longer accessible. I followed account access reset process multiple times to no avail. I repeatedly called the customer service department and was provided unhelpful or incomplete instructions on how to resolve, ultimately leading to my decision to close the account over the phone. I was told I would receive a final statement which never arrived. I was contacted numerous times that my account was past due, which didnt make sense as I shouldnt have had a balance on the account. I again asked for a final statement to verify the charges and was told it would arrive shortly. Weeks went by and my account was showing delinquent which was then reported to the credit bureaus. My credit score suffered a XXXX point drop due to this issue which was entirely on Comenity/Breads end. I finally received a final statement roughly 2 months after all of these issues began, and the statement was incomplete ( it did not outline charges which reflect the total account balance at time of closure ).

Consumer Complaint: I had a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX administered by Comenity Bank. I made a final payment of {$46.00} in mid-XXXX XXXX and asked that the account be closed. **On XXXX XXXX XXXX, I received a letter from Comenity 's Customer Care Team . The letter states three specific points : ( 1 ) " Your account is now paid in full. Your talbots credit card balance has been {$0.00} since we received your payment of {$46.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. '' ( 2 ) " We've closed your account, as you requested. '' ( 3 ) We've shared this information with the three major credit bureau reporting agencies. '' Taking the letter at its word that the account had a XXXX balance and had been closed, I assumed the account had indeed been closed and never used the card again, making no further charges or payments. Neither XXXX nor XXXX ever reported it as an open account since XX/XX/XXXX. **On Friday, XXXX XXXX XXXX, I received a notice by email that my account was " seriously overdue. '' The notice included a current balance of {$160.00}, apparently in accumulated interest and fees on an account with a XXXX balance as of XX/XX/XXXX and no further use since that time. **On Wednesday, XXXX XXXX XXXX, I spoke by telephone with " XXXX XXXX a Comenity Customer Retention Specialist. She informed me that I had no option but to pay the accumulated balance. I want to pay what I legitimately owe, but I do not believe I should be forced to pay interest and late fees on an account that was reported to me to have a XXXX balance, that was closed more than eight months ago, and that has not been used since. Please look at this matter and give me some assistance. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Comenity Capital Bank abruptly stopped reporting to credit bureaus in XX/XX/XXXX. I use this card once a year and pay it off immediately, Ive had a zero balance since XX/XX/XXXX. As a result of their negligence, my credit score dropped in XX/XX/XXXX Showing I was 120 days late. I called and was told nothing can be done until I demanded to speak to a supervisor. The rep got angry but eventually transferred me. The supervisor said it would be fixed in 10 days and I got a letter from them admitting it. My score went back up. In XX/XX/XXXX they did the same exact thing showing I was 180 Days late. I called again and talked to 2 more people and got another admitting it but this time I was told It would take 90 days to fix. I disputed XXXX credit agencies. In XXXX they did it again but went back 7 months. My credit score in falling rapidly. As a result I cant apply for a car loan for my business. I called again and they just shrugged their shoulders. I disputed it again with credit agencies who said my dispute was complete but it would take 45 days to fix. Im afraid Comenity will keep going back further and further claiming late payments. I have zero recourse. My business is suffering. My employees are suffering. Ive never been late with any payment and had a good credit score before this. Comenity refuses to help. This is the type of thing that causes financial ruin for responsible credit users. Even if I cancel this card I will get further penalized for having fewer cards. I filed with the XXXX but I havent heard anything back. Please help.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, I received a monthly statement from my credit card issuer, Comenity XXXX XXXX. I mailed a check, for the full amount, {$670.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. Upon receiving my XXXX statement, it showed that my payment had not been credited and a late fee and interest had been assessed. I called the company on three separate occasions during the next week to see if the payment had been received. My account reflected that the payment had not been credited and I was told it had not been received. At that time, XX/XX/XXXX, I made an ACH from my bank directly to Comenity for the full amount due, {$1000.00} ( XXXX and XXXX statements ). Upon being given a confirmation number by Comenity for this transfer ( XXXX ), I proceeded to cancel the credit card and close my account. Today I received a statement from Comenity informing me that I owed a {$25.00} for a returned check. I find it very coincidental that a check that was mailed over a month earlier " appeared '' on the next business day following closing of my account and payment-in-full of the outstanding balance. Why would a company deposit a check for an account that no longer existed AND was paid in full? In my opinion, what has transpired is simply a ploy to generate an illegitimate fee.

Consumer Complaint: Since Bread Financial took over Ulta Rewards/Comenity . I have been in Account Fraud trying to get an issue settled for almost a year. They are sending Me Two statements from Ulta ... one is an OLD XXXX balance card that they reopened n put {$750.00} payments in it that was supposed to go toward my current account. Since then they HAD fixed it back to XXXX ( acct should be closed ) .then it was {$350.00} owed n they sent me a check back for {$350.00} which makes no sense. Now? Theyre charging me interest AND fees while they work on it. They are RUINING MY PERFECT CREDIT. I can not even pay it off in the interim bc they CAN NOT FIND THIS ACCT.

Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank issues XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I had a payment due of {$2900.00} in XXXX. I made the payment through my bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) with plenty of time before the due date. I have a screenshot showing that the payment was received on XX/XX/23 and removed just after ( same day ). They claimed on the XXXX of XXXX that no payment had been made. I called the credit card company, my bank, the credit card company again, and attempted to resolve the situation. I ended up putting a stop payment on the XXXX of the check that had already showed it had been processed, and then disappeared from the statement. The credit card company then sent me a second bill for the new charges, plus the original charges of {$2900.00}. I made this payment via personal check which I took to the post office on the XXXX of XXXX for a total of {$7400.00}. This was the bill minus the finance and payment charges ( total of {$100.00} in fees ). Then they charged me the {$100.00}. ; XXXX plus additional charges and stop payment fees, for a total of {$310.00}. I paid this amount in full when I received it. I just received another message from the bank on XXXX stating that my payment was due by XXXX. The payments all show as credited on their system as of XXXX, and all monies have been taken out of my bank. This took a few weeks to resolve with a lot of stress and concern, and XXXX has been less than helpful. I wasn't able to talk to anyone at the bank, only the call center. And I know that a few people I know have been going through the same issue with lost payments.
