Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: To my knowledge this debt was paid/settled in my bankruptcy back in XX/XX/XXXX. I initially received a judgment for {$1600.00} before I entered into the bankruptcy. After it was dismissed in XX/XX/XXXX I never heard from Barclays on this debt again. I sold my house in XX/XX/XXXX and found out that they had put a lien on my house. The title company sent multiple faxes, emails and made daily phone calls for weeks trying to get an payoff amount to settle the debt. I sat on conference calls with the title company and Barclays myself, trying to get a simple payoff amount. They still wont give us one. Because of this they had to hold $ XXXX of my return. I am told that I wont get my money back until this lien for {$1600.00} is settled. Its been 2 weeks since we closed and still have not been able to get an official payoff from Barclays. I am frustrated that this was put as a lien in the first place. They never sent a letter to me or called. I am reaching out to them to settle a debt that I believe is invalid and yet still cant get any response.

Consumer Complaint: I reported fraud on my Barclay card ending in XXXX. I received four letters ( 2 in XX/XX/2018 and 2 in XX/XX/2018 ) informing me that the account was close due to fraud. The letters stated that the account ending in XXXX was closed due to fraud, the fraud investigation has been completed and that you are not responsible for the reported fraudulent activity. Please allow up to 30 days for the consumer credit reporting agencies to remove any fraud-related information from your credit report. Today, the new account ending in XXXX has the fraud activity on it and the fraud has not been removed. I have been paying on my card with autopay for months and stop it in XX/XX/2018 ; when I realized that autopay was on. I owe nothing more on both accounts, Barclay card ending in XXXX and nothing more on Barclay card ending in XXXX. Please close these accounts and report both of them as fraud. This credit card has been a nightmare and I don't know what to do. I filed a police report as instructed by XXXX representative. XXXX Police Dept. Report CC # XXXX. Consumer Complaint: XXXX must have been hacked again. XXXX XXXX is a company that seems to not exist, yet has found a way to be on my credit report. I have called the number to try to get information about the account, but the number is disconnected. Which I figured because phone numbers in XXXX, NY do not have a XXXX area code. Furthermore, the zip code does not make any sense for it to be an address in XXXX, NY. Lastly, the account says that is XXXX years old, which just by time alone, it should not be on my credit report and it says that there were payments made recently on my behalf. I would LOVE to know who made the payments and from what account were the payments made. If this is a government agency, why haven't they contacted me yet? Also, a Barclay 's account had appeared but that account was closed and removed years ago. Interestingly enough, it says that I have a {$1300.00} credit limit, but I do not actually have an account with that company. Lastly, XXXX still has accounts on my credit reports ( all three reporting agencies ) that should be removed immediately due to their fraudulent mortgage practices as discussed in CFPB file number XXXX. Thank you for your help.

Consumer Complaint: Thank you for your time. I used the Barclycard Arrival + card for payments at a hotel stay. This is travel card that advertises that travel-related expenses, specifically hotels, can be paid with points. When I tried to pay the card balance with points, the card company would not allow points. They said that this is not considered a travel expense because the merchant did not classify the charge as a travel expense. So even though it was clearly and admittedly at a hotel, they did not honor their promise to allow for points payments for hotel charges. They advertised one thing and got me to sign up, and in the small print they did something different. Deceptive.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a XXXX XXXX mastercard through Barclay 's on XX/XX/XXXX. The credit card came with a bonus offer of XXXX XXXX airline miles after {$1000.00} in purchases. The fine print reads " XXXX bonus XXXX will be awarded after you spend {$1000.00} on purchases that are not later returned or rescinded. Bonus XXXX will be awarded 4-6 weeks after the close of the billing statement on which the qualifying purchase has posted. '' {$1000.00} in purchases were completed by the close of my XX/XX/XXXX billing statement ( {$1000.00}, to be precise. Total payments were {$1100.00} including a {$99.00} annual fee ). That billing statement did not, however, indicate any amount in the " Bonus XXXX '' section. Furthermore, it has been 6 weeks now since the close of that statement, and the XXXX miles have not been credited to my account. Both attempts to reach Barclay 's through the secure messaging system and via phone with customer service representatives have proven unfruitful. Barclay 's is no longer responding to my messaging requests. A phone representative DID admit that this was a mistake on Barclay 's part, and the miles should have been credited long ago, but she was unable to offer any resolution or guarantees that the mistake would be corrected other than " they would look into it. '' Promised follow-up phone calls to me have not been made, and Barclay 's has not reached out to confirm their error or remedy it.
